We want Sauchiehall Street car freeAir pollution is a major health concern on Glasgow's streets. The council is planning to regenerate Sauchiehall Street to include the continued use of cars. We want Glasgow city council to consider it's citizens and make this a traffic free zone. We believe this aim will also bring a much-needed boost to tourism in the area. Please help us return the cities image of a Dear Green place18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Sloan

Stop the closure of Okehampton Maternity unitThe maternity unit is an excellent (and essential) local facility - it should be held up as an example of excellent, local, dedicated care to the rest of the NHS, not closed. Please sign the petition to raise awareness of the plight of the maternity unit and hopefully draw it to the attention of the Prime Minister.3,900 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Emma Benjamin

Andy Burnham: Create a Levy for Free Access to JusticeJustice is being denied to the people of Greater Manchester. Legal aid no longer covers most cases involving housing, welfare, debt, immigration or medical negligence. Between 2005 and 2015, the number of not-for-profit legal advice centres in the country fell from 2,226 to 1,462[1]. Greater Manchester went from having nine law centres across our ten boroughs to only having two. But, our ever-defiant community refused to accept this, and together we fought to restore and improve access to justice for people in poverty and vulnerability. It is thanks to this collective effort that the Greater Manchester Law Centre opened its doors in Moss Side last year, and we are making great strides to meet the advice and representation needs of those who need it most. We are fighting, together, for free access to justice. But we need more than words and encouragement, and we welcome your support for making similar legal services available across Greater Manchester. This is Manchester, and we do things differently here. Let’s lead the way and try something new, and implement the idea we dreamed up together. To survive, we need to be creative. Let’s fund our free, face-to-face, high quality legal advice and professional legal representation by imposing a levy on commercial law firms. Yours sincerely, Roz Burgin, Development Worker John Nicholson, Chair Norma Turner, Management Committee And community supporters of GMLC ** See media coverage of this open letter** Solicitors Journal: http://bit.ly/2sXV16h Law Society Gazette: http://bit.ly/2sSVMNg Our press release: http://bit.ly/2ugOGXm [1] http://www.fabians.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Access-to-Justice_final_web.pdf327 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Roz Burgin

Encourage Transport Scotland to rethink the A96 dualling options from Brodie to Forres.Transport Scotland has made available its proposed routes for the A96 dual carriageway from Hardmuir to Fochabers. The purple route P1 is shown to go directly through Macbeth's Hillock - a site that legend has it is where Macbeth and Banquo met the witches who told them their fate. It then travels east through Brodie Home Farm, immediately adjacent to Brodie Castle (a Scottish Tourist Board four star and Gold Green Tourism Award Winner property), owned and managed by the National Trust for Scotland who describe it as the "Ancestral home of Clan Brodie, with an outstanding art collection and magnificent library". The route then moves north and skims along the edge of Culbin Forest, an area designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The Forestry Commission notes that "The diverse landscape and unusual species here have achieved national and international recognition and are protected by law". The RSPB calls it "A breathtaking coastal reserve, full of wildlife". It then crosses the Moray Coastal Trail which allows locals and tourists alike to enjoy "a coastline alive with wildlife that would be the envy of many other regions in Britain". What is the value placed on the detrimental impact to so many of the wonderful historical assets of this area? Quite apart from the significant environmental and ecological delights that this option destroys, it cuts the close-knit rural communities of Dyke, Kintessack, Moy and Loanhead right down the middle. All the children from this area go to school in Dyke Village School, and the Village Hall and Church are the epicentres of activity for this community. It destroys the homes of people who have lived in this community their whole lives and obliterates the tranquility and beauty of those who remain there. What is the value placed on the destruction of a community? This is an area frequented by cyclists, bird watchers, anglers, horse-riders and walkers with its wide network of quiet, beautiful roads and tracks. It is a key attraction for tourists. What is the value placed on the destruction of our local economy, with tourism, self-catering accommodation, farming and a wealth of local businesses? From a practical point of view, the proposed route crosses, not once, but at least twice, the Gas Pipeline and Storage System that runs from Inverness to RAF Lossiemouth. It spends a significant amount of time in areas designated as medium or high risk of flooding on the SEPA flood maps. What is the cost of this proposed route through land patently unsuitable for anything other than birds, animals, people and water? Please lend your support to this petition asking Transport Scotland to reconsider it's proposal and exclude this as a potential route for the A96 dual carriageway.506 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Lorna Ross

5 points traffic system in Burnham BerkshireThe 5 points has always been a traffic nightmare but when they introduced the roundabout as a temporary measure the difference in the traffic flow was more than evident. What was initially thought of as going to cause chaos throughout the improvement roadworks, was actually a godsend. However now they have put the lights back in has caused more traffic than ever!2,120 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Wrigley

Cut the Grass Verges In LincolnshireThe cuts Lincolnshire County Council have made to the grass cutting service has resulted in - Unsightly messy verges. Litter and dog mess has increased. It is counter productive, we should be taking pride in our towns, not letting them look a mess. Its causing a hazard at road junctions. The council should increase the amounts of cuts back to once every 3 weeks, still saving money but at least the grass will look better.403 of 500 SignaturesCreated by James Kent

CAMHS to 25CAMHS stops at 18. No matter your state/need/condition/where you are on your road to recovery. There is now no continuity to your care with people you trust. Your support network is suddenly gone. You are referred to the adult mental health service. Due to patient confidentiality and now being classed as an adult no-one will give parents/family any information. The adult mental health service is so over stretched and disjointed. There are massive waiting lists so you are left in a big black hole with no proper support. Even after a further crisis point/hospitalisation, constant chasing up, you wait a year to be told it will be another 2 years before you can access CBT/counselling/therapy. There is nothing!! There is no funding to support the dire need of our kids when they are most vulnerable! It couldn't be more cruel and critical. 1 in 4 will have mental health problems. No-one is immune. We need to act NOW and make a change before it is too late! We're talking life and death. Literally!279 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Daphne Brien

Protect Lodgers Deposits across the countryThere is a major problem in the housing and property market whereby landlords whom want to make extra money renting individual rooms are providing no agreements and are taking sizable deposits from lodgers offering no protection as there is no policy or law that says they should do, 1.7 million homeowners rented rooms to lodgers in 2016 according to Santander Mortgages Survey. This matters because alot of professionals including our emergency services sector are renting in this way and by not regulating this area means hundreds of thousands of pounds are not returned with no consequences. I have a family member that decided to use a lodging platform for listings to find a room in London, she paid £1200 as a deposit, whilst living in the property the landlord began to infringe on her personal space and belongings and so she decided to give notice to leave, when she asked for the return of her deposit the landlord refused saying she missed payments and the room wasn't in the same condition he rented it to her in, she was devastated as there seemed to be nothing she could do but taking it to a claims court, she decided to walk away. I have heard thousands of stories just like this I want a Lodger Deposit Guard to be backed by the Department of communities and local government and rolled out as a mandatory action when renting a room going hand in hand with background checking to stop unregulated renting.194 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jerome Davis

Bring an Aldi Store to Barry, South WalesBarry is the 5th largest town in Wales (after Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham and Merthyr) and could easily support an Aldi store. This would give local people access to the two budget supermarkets and widen the choices available to the people in Barry. Using Facebook as my measure, I believe that there is a significant majority of people in Barry that would welcome the addition of an Aldi store and that the Vale's planning department should respect the wishes of the people in Barry32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Will Hills

Set a maximum working temperature during summerDuring the heatwave, everyone is becoming very uncomfortable with the heat. Often finding that they become ill. Currently there is no set maximum working temperature, however i think this should change. Not only do i think this is unsafe for children in schools and nurseries, but adults working in poorly airconditioned workplaces too. It is important because workers and young children are at risk of becoming dehydrated and unfocused. Equally staff are feeling uncomfortable.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emily Price

British Troops in SyriaIt has been reported that US. UK and Norwegian troops have set up a base near Al Tanf on Syrian territory bordering Jordan in the South. Around it they have declared a self styled "deconfliction zone". They have already fired on and killed Syrian forces on their own soil. This is illegal as Syria is a recognised sovereign country by the United Nations. It has not been sanctioned as an act of war by the UK parliament. ISIS is not strong in the area and is weakening across Syria. Russia has given active and effective military support to the Syrian arab army at the invitation of Syria's government. There is great potential for an escalation of the war in Syria to a wider war should US and Russian troops be involved in a direct conflict. The UK should not associate itself with aggressive US foreign policy but aim to support peace in the area.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Wrigley
