The existing trams finally came into service several years later than planned, eight stops short and 50% over its budget, at a cost of £776 million.The project has left Edinburgh the second most indebted council in Scotland, with total borrowing of more than £1.4 billion – nearly £3,000 for every resident. The new extension is estimated to cost over £162 million. The project would be part-financed by securing a £25 million “extraordinary dividend” from publicly-owned Lothian Buses, which means reduced investment in buses, job cuts, fare rises and a possible sell-off - another rip-off for the local people. Edinburgh has one of the best and most affordable bus services in the UK, so there is no need of trams extension. The City of Edinburgh Council should not come to a decision to extend the lines before the Tram Public Enquiry is completed. The money that will be spent on the needless trams extension could be used on community services, so The Council doesn't need to cut any services.

There have been THREE occasions when MPs in the House of Commons have "Fillibustered". Hospital car parking charges for carers, inhumane treatment by private landlords towards their tenants, and now First Aid Training for children in schools are all issues that have recently been "Fillibustered" in Parliament recently. THIS MUST CEASE! It is NOT what our MPs were elected to do!

They have made this decision, without consultation with patients, or other interested parties, such as Coeliac UK in order to save £70 000per annum. Whilst I am fortunate enough to be able to make the additional food purchases that will be required, many people will not be in the same position as me and will eat gluten containing food to save money. The CCG further state that gluten free foods are now of a similar price to gluten containing food, which is simply not the case. Furthermore, those who do not live with access to a supermarket that sells such food (and most local, or convenience stores do not) will suffer... There is an additional issue regarding those who are newly diagnosed, who trust the food on prescription, which they know will not give them symptoms.

Tameside Council are wishing to rename Ashton Bus Station to Tameside Interchange. Stalybridge and Hyde will in future be known as Interchange #2 and #3. This is very wrong. Not only will it confuse everyone the risk of school children, old folk, people with learning disabilities and people with illnesses such as dementia getting lost, confused and upset is high. We must fight to keep the identity, history and the heritage of our town centres. We do not want them to dissapear.

The Land Registry records the ownership of all land and property in England and Wales. If private companies get their hands on the Land Registry they’ll have one thing on their minds - profits. This could mean a hike in price for all of us, or a fall in standards because of cost-cutting measures. The Land Registry is a public service that is self funding and is not a drain on public finance. There's no need to sell it off to the highest bidder.

It's important because lothian buses belongs to the people of Edinburgh and the council is plundering their profits for its own agenda with no regard for the consequence, there will be job cuts and service cuts and ultimately it's the people of Edinburgh who will suffer.

The political history taught in schools is hugely biased towards the actions of men. Shoehorning feminism and women's political achievements under the banner of "pressure groups" diminishes the important work women have done - and still are doing - to make politics more equal and representative. The new curriculum plans to only include one woman in the list of key political thinkers students will study - and the entire Suffragettes movement will only be taught in a section on pressure groups. Women have helped shape this world as much as men have and it's integral that we are recognised as political thinkers, as well as giving kids great female role models to look up to... whether they're boys, girls or anything else. When we remove women from the syllabus we teach young people that women have no impact on politics. At a time when fewer than one in three MPs are female this is a dangerous message to give out. The government has a responsibility to teach young men and women that every voice is important, not just the voices of those already in power. For the sake of the men and women of the future we need to hear about the women of the past. Stop airbrushing women out of our history.

The government have said an affordable home is up to £250k outside London and £450k inside but even with a reduction of 20% it it still 5 or 6 times an average family annual income. It's important so that first time buyers can get on the ladder.

On 22nd December 2016 Birmingham City Council’s Planning Committee approved Lidl’s application to build a new supermarket on the Pershore Road site currently occupied by Fitness First Stirchley and PSL Bowling. Having previously rejected the application, the decision left the whole community, including its local councillors (across several political parties), shocked and disappointed. The community came together and petitioned against this decision, mounting a legal challenge with the Environmental Law Foundation. We were successful, and Birmingham City Council agreed to quash the application, admitting their errors. The latest news is that Lidl allegedly want to buy the land regardless. We are disgusted by this behaviour and petition Birmingham City Council to support us in saving our leisure facilities. We also petition Lidl to reconsider other vacant sites in Stirchley, of which there are plenty. We feel that this site is the wrong location for the Lidl store for the following reasons: Loss of PSL Bowling - a family run, independent business that supports local economy. Nearest alternative approximately 4 miles away Loss of Fitness First Stirchley – a popular fitness gym with over 3800 members amidst reports of a growing obesity crisis costing Birmingham over £2 billion every year Loss of jobs – 62+ people are set to lose their jobs across the 2 sites with Lidl only committing to 20 full time staff Further traffic disruption – concerns over increased volume of traffic on an already highly congested route and impact on residents parking Alternative Stirchley sites available – derelict site owned by Tesco and proposed new Aldi store on Magnet site Already enough supermarkets – 19 supermarkets in a 3 mile radius

We do not know who Cameron will really be giving orders to our Air Force to bomb,.We do not know for sure that Britain is not arming IS in order to bring the Syrian Government down, in order to impose an American chosen Islamic dictatorship in Syria. We are getting conflicting reports but what we do know for sure is that we shall bomb Syrian civilians. Give peace a chance even if it means British Arms sales suffer.

The New White Bull is a community asset acknowledged by Broxtowe Borough Council in its decision to list the pub as an Asset of Community Value (ACV). A national brewer formerly owned the pub but refused to sell it to the local Blue Monkey brewery, which is based just around the corner and apparently would dearly love to use the New White Bull as its brewery tap. The site was initially sold to become a supermarket and is now earmarked for demolition for housing. But it could still be a viable and thriving community pub. The New White Bull has been a public house since at least 1876 (Post Office Directory) and so has given some 140 years of service to the local community. With your help, it could give another 140 years as a public house. Please sign this petition to protect the New White Bull.
