Chris Skidmore - Vote to keep the ban on fox huntingHunting wild mammals with a pack of dogs causes unnecessary stress. There is no reason why, in this day and age, such outdated methods should be used to hunt any animal. Foxes in particular are iconic as part of the British natural fauna and are relatively peaceful animals. There are better methods and measures that can be used to stop foxes from damaging livestock and farmland than the way proposed by pro-hunt campaigners. The act of chasing a fox with a pack of dogs is barbaric and has no place in our society. Voting to repeal the hunting act would also be an affront to democracy. Polls from YouGov, Ipsos Mori and The Mirror show that the majority of the public want to keep the hunting ban in place. If there is to be any vote on the repeal of the hunting act, the public should be consulted via a national referendum. If this condition cannot be met, then the ban should remain in place. You can see the poll results below: https://yougov.co.uk/news/2015/01/09/british-people-still-support-fox-hunting-ban/ http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/dec/25/britons-fox-hunting-ban-survey https://www.ipsos-mori.com/researchpublications/researcharchive/3315/Hunting-Poll-2013.aspx http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/fox-hunting-back-agenda-says-5665629 We, the people of Kingswood, ask that you, Chris Skidmore, vote to keep the hunting ban over the course of this next parliament.240 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Johnston

Philosophy For KidsFuture generations will need to be able to think critically, reason and question much more than their ancestors in order to enable them to more easily filter the enormous amount of data coming at them from numerous social, news and campaign media and help prevent them from succumbing to extremism.56 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Williams

Thomas Cook, decent compensation to the Shepherds.Thomas Cook are morally responsible for the deaths of two children, Bobby and Christi, who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a hotel room for which Thomas Cook were responsible. The inquest found this week that their deaths were unlawful although criminal prosecutions in this country are unlikely. The senior managers from Thomas Cook refused to answer questions in court, their legal right but to their absolute moral shame. Thomas Cook received £3.5m compensation following the deaths yet the parents of the two children have received only a fraction of this amount. This case is morally offensive, disdains the principles of natural justice and shows the contempt with which large corporations hold ordinary people.119 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Moody

Pachamama cafe to trade at Easton Arts TrailThis is important to us: myself, my partner, toddler and little one due in August, as we are a small family business and the decision to not allow us to be involved in this and other recent events, directly effects the viability of our business - our livelihood. We have demonstrated our commitment to the community and the centre, by operating our cafe at the centre over the past 2 years. In order for us to continue trading, in what is a difficult financial time for many us, we need to be able to trade at events, especially key ones in our local calendar, as without these opportunities, our future is under threat. We feel passionately about our community and privileged to be able to be involved and run our cafe business in the heart of our community, our home. We have received positive support from the local and wider community, with so many positive comments about our food and friendliness. We source as many of our products locally with a focus on fair-trade and organic where possible. We provide our food at affordable prices, so that we can offer something for all members of our community. We have shown our continued commitment to those that use our cafe but also all users of the Easton Community Centre and care about the connections and interactions that we have with all of those who we encounter. If we are excluded from certain key events then this will be the end of our business, so please sign our petition so that those who have the power to do so will enable us to continue trading by allowing us to be involved in weekend events too as was agreed in our initial interview when we first took on the tenancy and as we have continued to request. We had lots of positive feedback at the last Easton Arts Trail from traders, performers and the public at large. Please show your support so that those who have made the decision to offer this opportunity and other such opportunities to outside caterers hear your voice and ours, which will mean they too will hopefully show their support and allow us to open our cafe at this key event as previously agreed. Thank you in advance for sharing your voice in support of our small family business, so that we are able to continue trading. Reclassify children's fancy dress clothes from toys - to meet clothing standardsCurrently fancy dress costumes are classed as toys so are not necessarily fire proofed or fire retardant. The amount of children that are taken to hospital with burns due to fancy dress clothes is increasing. This can be stopped, simply by changing the classification from toys to clothes. Currently fancy dress clothes are CE checked for flammability. But this check is only suitable for toys which burn a lot slower than fancy dress clothes. Fancy dress clothes should be in the same category as the flammability of children's night clothes. After all children WEAR the fancy dress clothes, they do not play with them. "At the moment fancy dress costumes are not necessarily fire proofed or fire retardant. They are classified as toys, not clothes. Toy clothing, identified by the CE mark, is regulated however – including dressing up toys. Also, the flammability of children’s nightwear is regulated. All toys on the UK market are required to comply with the relevant flammability requirements. Toy manufacturers use materials that comply with the strict rules and carry out the necessary tests to demonstrate compliance"57,882 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Emma Smith

Keep the Licence fee - Save the BBCThe BBC is rightly famous throughout the world for providing high quality televisual and radio programming. It is the last bastion of advertising free television and radio in the UK. Considering the broad range and high quality of programming produced the licence fee is remarkably cheap. Despite criticism from several quarters it provides balanced reporting and commentary on news, politics and current affairs which contrasts favourably with other broadcasters. There is scope for reform and modernisation of funding in the digital age but the basic concept of funding by licence fee should remain in place.113 of 200 SignaturesCreated by David Smith

Reform the UK voting systemOnly 36.9% of the UK population actually wanted the current UK Government which means the majority of the population do not want the Conservatives to represent them. How can this be democratic? Before the next election we need a reformation of the voting system so that the Government we end up with represents the majority of those who voted for them.184 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Deborah Margaret Sharpe

remove the new minister for the disabledIn its stupidity this government is taking us for fools! Justin Tomlinson has been appointed Minister for the Disabled. Because of his background he is totally unsuitable to take the post. He has a strong record for voting against the interests of the sick and disabled claimants and also for the repeal of the Human Rights Act, whilst voting for the bedroom tax!! Under these circumstances he should not have been given the post, or perhaps it was deliberate knowing the governments record in this field.280 of 300 SignaturesCreated by John Roffey

Say No to £15million Thatcher museumIf we remember Margaret Thatcher in this way it would be disrespectful not to build a similar museum for Clement Attlee, where it could be argued he did more for the greater good of the Country rather than promote self interest. A few years ago there were rumours that the museum could be publicly funded. But no matter who's paying for this museum, even building it is in poor taste because Thatcher was the architect of so many damaging government policies. We don't need or want an expensive museum to remember her by!47,215 of 50,000 SignaturesCreated by Andy Clarke

No pay rise for MPs during austerityIt has been reported that MPs who were only elected last week are set to receive a backdated 10 per cent pay rise worth £7,000 within months. A review of MPs salaries is taking place in the next few weeks, and the review is likely to rubber stamp a finding from 2013 which was that MPs' pay should increase from £67,060 to £74,000. The review is being conducted by IPSA (Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority), who are Parliament's expenses watchdog. Jonathan Isaby, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: "To press ahead with a 10 per cent pay rise is not only putting two fingers up at voters, but it starkly contradicts the pay restraint required elsewhere in the public sector if the government is to balance the nation's books. The only way to stop the salary increase is by Mr Cameron passing a law in the House of Commons to scrap Ipsa altogether." (The above as reported in The Telegraph) If "we are all in it together" then MPs should not have a 10% pay rise when public sector pay has been frozen for years.1,118 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Christina McGuire
