• Rail Fares That Make Sense
We have a bewildering number of train tickets available, which can sometimes mean that for a long journey it is cheaper to buy 2 single fare tickets rather than one single fare ticket. Also, a return ticket can be cheaper than a single. It can even be cheaper to buy a ticket from one train company's ticket machine than from another train company's machine. Travelling to London Victoria can be cheaper than travelling to Clapham Junction (a shorter distance for me). Looking at a ticket machine screen can make your head spin, when all you want to do is get from A to B and be charged for the distance travelled. Legislation is needed to impose logic and fairness.

  • Petition to force companies to Reduce excessive product packaging
More often than not far too much material is wasted on product packaging. Sometimes it is totally unnecessary and purely for visual reasons; aimed at making a product look more than it is - A marketing gimmick! So many items are also packaged in unnecessarily high quality materials, which is costly to the environment and consumer. World resources are under pressure and we need to put a stop to it. A reduction in unnecessary packaging helps the environment and future generations

  • OFCOM Apply media rules fairly
As part of its claim to be a modern democracy, the UK has a nominal commitment to defend freedom of speech and freedom of the press. This implies accepting the right of those with alternative views to have their voices heard, even if those views challenge governments and vested economic interests.

  • Justice for Ernest John Coles
This is important as I have researched this multimillion pound company who are registered as a charity and I believe they have something to hide. I and others have contacted them many times but they refuse to acknowledge their responsibility for the care of Marguerite Coles. She is far from alone in receiving bad treatment from Sanctuary, one of the largest and wealthiest housing associations, care providers and supporters of vulnerable people in Britain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WicGHHgBKwY

  • Bring Iceland to Tiverton
Following the announcement that Slimming World have partnered up with Iceland to introduce an official line of frozen dinners, the demand for a store in the local area has never been greater. Obviously we know companies need to know that a demand is there so this petition should hopefully act as an indicator for Iceland Foods Ltd to gage the level of interest there is in their produce. We also hope this will spur them on to start delivering to Tiverton from their Exeter store until such a time there is a store on our doorstep.

  • BBC Children in Need £88million stockpile
I feel that this is a truely shocking piece of news that the BBC are keeping this money in a bank account gaining interest and investing it in other things and all the while they want us to keep donating. The Slogan for the appeal say's All the money raised goes to children in Need. I beleave this is a kick in the teeth to many wonderful people who spend hard earned cash to donate to such a wonderful cause. Please tell the BBC to get this money to those who need it and stop making money from it for themselves.

  • Full pardons for soldiers executed for cowardice and desertion during WW1
306 soldiers were court marshalled and executed for cowardice and desertion during WW1. Most if not all of them were suffering from shell shock and other illnesses caused by the extreme conditions they had to endure. Other European countries pardoned thier soldiers many many years ago but the UK government continues to punish our soldiers and thier families. It's time to end this.

  • Save the media from the press barons.
It is essential that tve public are informed of all events that may affect their wellbeing. Our government, banks, business, law and so on must be held accountable and a free press us a big part of that. The UK press fails in that task. It is controlled by global corporations and hides and misrepresents situations to serve their interests. Government is supported, bullied and manipulated by them. The public don't get a look-in. There is no democracy in this. Important issues go unresolved and people suffer.

  • WHERE IS OUR NHS MONEY GOING?
NHS England are stewards of the NHS's £95 billion budget. How it spends our money matters. We know that roughly two thirds of its budget goes to local groups to buy care, with the rest spent centrally by NHS England on mainly specialised and primary care services. However, unlike other government agencies, NHS England has never published details of where its money is going. Since May 2010, government departments and their agencies have published monthly reports on all their spending over £25,000. This was a commitment to transparency that would allow taxpayers to see where money is being paid out and what it is going on, so that we could better judge if it is being spent wisely. This meant that we could see, for example, the amount of money the Department of Health paid to management consultants; how much was finding its way to companies with strong political links; and whether unpopular policies were draining resources. Other NHS bodies, like the regulator Monitor[1], regularly tell us how they are spending our money. But, in the two years since it was established, NHS England has never once published this data. NHS England says it is committed to transparency. And it is fast opening up and sharing other data on health services, including our personal data. NHS chief, Simon Stevens claims that NHS England “has set new standards for openness and transparency in all of its operations, compared with what went before.” This is not the case. In August NHS England said it would publish its spending data in September. Then it said by the end of October. It has yet to publish it. Don’t let NHS England kick the can down the road. Tell them that you want to see how it is spending our money now. Thanks to pressure from 38 Degrees, earlier this year NHS England made a commitment to publish details of its top executives' meetings with private companies. We can put pressure on them now to do what they should have been doing all along: tell us where the money is going. We are repeatedly warned about the NHS’s dire financial situation. We hear of hospitals facing bankruptcy, services being rationed, and the need for massive savings to be made if the NHS is to survive. But first, we need to see that the stewards of the NHS budget are spending with care and where it matters. Tell Simon Stevens to come clean about how NHS England spends our money. • Facebook Remove the Hate Group Britain Firsts Bought 'Likes'
Britain first are a far right hate group that promotes racial and religious hatred via their website and Facebook page. The number of their likes, even though fake, gives them a veneer of respectability and increases their global reach. The comments on their posts are of the vilest hate speech imaginable. Facebook needs to investigate Britain Firsts page and remove their fake likes.
