Posthumous Knighthood for Bobby MooreSince the 1966 World Cup final, Bobby Moore has never been out of the football news. He was graceful on and off the pitch when he was alive, and his reputation has only been enhanced since his death. This is a special year, 50 years on from the 1966 Final plus the Queens 90th birthday - what a great year to award Bobby a posthumous Knighthood, and put a smile on British faces..... a lovely man, a great Captain of England, and a Knight of the realm!! Great.134 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rob Everitt

UOL & SU: New Refugee ScholarshipThe UK government has failed to effectively aid the millions of people fleeing uncertain futures in war zones so Lincoln students need to take action. In the UK, whilst we do not enjoy free undergraduate education, we have a system in place to ensure we receive a world-class standard of education that is available to everyone. Around 30 British academic institutions already offer some form of free education or aid service to refugees, the University of Lincoln and its student union should continue to lead morally as well as academically. We have seen an unprecedented level of human movement from the Middle East and North Africa to Europe due to civil war and economic hardship. Many of these refugees are young people, many of them are educated to a high standard and all of them had to leave for fear of the own lives. Our universities societies, by their members own admissions, are already well funded and supported. We also enjoy hosting one of Lincoln's premier venues, The Engine Shed, and we will soon see a new multi-million pound technology building. The University and its SU are not short of money and you cannot put a price on human life or a good education. Sign this petition and ensure that a young person gets the future that we all deserve.42 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jimmy Morris-Knight

Baffled by BAFTA: Equal recognition for female actorsAfter watching the awards ceremony last night, it struck me that it was not as reflective of our society as it could be, and conveyed a potentially misleading message to young women growing up in today's society. With the pinnacle award of the night being the best Actor and the best female Actor always playing second fiddle - it really compounds the message that women are second rate in the acting stakes.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nancy Towers

Stop Fat Cats ripping off FansFor many years there has been a legitimate but virtually uncontrolled trade in tickets for entertainment and sporting events. Event tickets are purchased at face value by individuals and companies with no desire to attend. They are then sold on at hugely inflated prices, often many hundreds of pounds above the face value, without the original purchaser adding any value what so ever. Or they sell the ticket as part of a package, perhaps including travel and accommodation, at a ridiculously inflated price, because it includes event tickets. This practice is immoral, these people/companies contribute nothing but take as much as they can possibly get and, in so doing, deny ordinary fans the joy of attending a live event.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alan Gilham

The WindmillThe Windmill Public House is a traditional meeting place and community focus for the village. It is registered as an Asset of Community Value [AVC] . It is within a conservation area and adjacent to Charlton House which is a historic listed building within the Green Belt. CAMRA North Hertfordshire Branch argue that the changes proposed by the current owner will preclude it from from ever returning to having the status of a much loved village pub.24 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeremy Ainsworth-Smith

SNP ArroganceIn the past angling was the looked upon as for the "rich" The SNP are now been seen to revert back to these times making it inaccessible to many. Not only was "one for the pot" the law of the day but now a tax on catches seems to be the way,1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Donald Smith

Save woodlands in Brighton And Hove.Woodland conservation is important to save our woodland and save animals habitats also it will help our atmosphere get rid of CO2. For this reason, it would be particularly effective to plant more trees in high-pollution areas such as Preston Circus and Lewes Road.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brooke Bashford

For a bee hive in Cherry Tree WoodsThe bees are dying out, the plants need pollinating, without that we would have no flowers let alone food, from the trees to the shrubs, bees are critical to the environment. Not only would a bee hive in Cherry Tree Woods provide honey, but it would be a great boon to local businesses, putting East Finchley on the map. Where East Finchley leads, others will follow, teaching children about nature and securing our future. Thank you.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by George Lazou

Petition for a Community Governance ReviewThe current parish boundaries were drawn up long before Beverley had a building boom, which saw the settlement grow into the continuous built-up area we now know. The separation into three parish authorities is now outdated, and no longer reflects the community. It also means that some residents living in Beverley, specifically to the North and the South of Beverley, do not have a say on Beverley Town Council because they belong to Molescroft Parish and Woodmansey Parish. In other words, the current community governance arrangements hinder effective local government. Residents on Lincoln Way and the surrounding area are unlikely to consider themselves as living in Woodmansey. Moreover, residents have expressed concern that their interests are not properly represented on Woodmansey Parish, as exemplified in said parish council’s decision to commission a Neighbourhood Plan that covers only the village itself. As for Molescroft, it forms part of Beverley, and its residents ought to have a say on the Town Council; however, this cannot happen whilst there is a separate Molescroft Parish Council. To sum up, the current community governance arrangements hinder community cohesion and effective local government by artificially splitting the town of Beverley into three parts. The above recommendations · improve community engagement · bring communities closer together · create better local democracy · result in more efficient delivery of local services We are, therefore, asking East Riding of Yorkshire Council to undertake a community governance review to ensure that community governance arrangements reflect local identities and facilitate effective and convenient local government.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Beate Willar
