• Stop the closure of Liverpool city libraries
These libraries provide a quiet place for people to study and work in peace and safety, and the books on the shelves provide a vital lifeline of education to many children across the city region. Without them, many will lose a vital part of their everyday lives!

  • We need more midwives
New babies and mother's are leaving hospital too early. This is affected the babies ability to learn to feed. This is potentially lethal and inhibits a new mothers confidence to continue to breast feed. Such babies miss out on the gifts that breast feeding provides such as increased immunity and decreased sensitivity to food allergens aswell as the emotional bond and comfort breast feeding provides.

  • Pay child benefit monthly.
It's difficult to plan finances around payments that move around the calendar each month. Direct Debits in particular don't cope well this this. The system is out of touch with modern family finances and needs to be changed.

  • Commercial TV companies must pay public sector organisations for their involvement in documentaries
The commercial TV companies have it made, no studio, no actors/actresses, low overheads etc. It is frustrating that the public are having to fundraise for the NHS when there is an obvious pot of money which can be gained from a small change in the law. These services are overstretched, the staff are overworked and they are struggling with a lack of funding. Please remember that we the national insurance and tax payers are paying for the services above that commercial TV programmes are being made out of, with the commercial TV companies for far too long being allowed to make such huge profits out of national insurance and tax payer funded services. EVIDENCE/RESEARCH THE INFORMATION BELOW HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS AND SIMILARLY IS STILL GOING ON TODAY, (Investigation over the period of one week sat 6th January- Friday 12th January 2018 more than 103 hours of TV footage was shown of the police over various commercial Freeview channels, and over 29 hours of footage featuring the NHS. This equated to over 24 hours of advertising revenue (YES ADVERTS!) during the police programmes and over 6.7 hours of advertising (YES ADVERTS!) during the NHS programmes). This is a typical example of just one week of the year, and similar will be happening every week which would equate to 1257.7 hours of advertising (YES ADVERTS!) during police programmes and 351.8 hours of advertising (YES ADVERTS!) during the NHS programmes per year. As you can see the amount of advertising (YES ADVERTS!) revenue the emergency services could be taking advantage of is huge, even if they only had a small percentage of the profits from advertising alone it would make a huge contribution towards their funding. I.E. NHS Additional income for more NHS staff & Equipment Additional income to be able to pay for free car parking for staff & visitors POLICE Additional income to be able to pay for extra police officers (policemen on the beat) Additional income to fund local donations to good causes

  • Save our sports facilities Save our greenland
Because at the moment these plans are quickly being put through whilst the general public are unaware of the new plans. They intend to knock Richard dunn's down and rebuild on Sedbergh playing fields but without any of the slides, cafe, squash courts, badminton, tennis, cycle track, various exercise classes, children's zone etc . They are chopping down a large amount of trees some with tree preservation orders all on the green land at sedberg that local people have always used as we have no park. This is on top of the loss of the other bradford pool's that they are already closing.

  • Governments '96% project' for school attendance
There is a 48 hour rule on contagious illness for a reason - so that the whole school isnt infected yet this new scheme penalises those parents who abide by the 48 hour rule putting the rest of the school at risk and not allowing our children to fully recover from their illnesses (reducing their immune systems and need for additional medical care in the future!) The 96% project will also put additional pressure on the NHS for everyday illnesses to be confirmed by already over stretched doctors just so the children arent marked as 'absent'. There needs to be a better way of targeting attendance that doesnt put a huge risk to the health of our schools and add pressure to the NHS, not to mention the cost to our schools in implementing this system.

  • Houses of Parliment
The UK would enjoy money from the extra tourism, the relocating the Houses of Parliament would save a lot of tax payer money. The old Houses of Parliament would become a bigger tourist attraction giving money back to the tax payers pot and put towards better healthcare and looking after the elderly.

  • Routinely Grit Roads Leading to Boldmere Infant & Junior Schools
700 pupils aged 4 to 11 travel to Boldmere Infant and Junior schools every day. The road loop leading to the schools goes downhill, round 2 sharp bends and uphill. When it snows or is icy, this compacts and it's usually the last area to retain ice, making it very hazardous indeed to drive the roads and walk on the pavements. My children and I have slipped countless times, and watched cars skid, even when driving slowly. Many of the houses on these roads do not have driveways so residents and parents park on the road, leading to traffic problems on the school run. Whilst many children walk to school, ice and snow make an already hazardous area even more treacherous and it's only a matter of time before something awful happens. Please sign this petition and ask Birmingham City Council to remove this needless hazard from the lives of 700 children, their care-givers and local residents.

  • Do not withdraw the 34/X bus service to Braintree/Great Notley/Bocking
There's been hardly or no consultation on its withdrawal and if the Council want to revitalise the High Street in Braintree, it's not going to be very helpful if no one can get there. Not everyone has a car, perhaps disabled or have children so driving isn't always an option. The council has an obligation to provide a means of access to the local town for those old, disabled, unable to drive. If companies are still permitted to put profit before services then Braintree will become a dead town. It's bad enough that empty units are booking shops (I think we have at least 4 of them), numerous charity shops, 2 pathetically sized supermarkets and that's the only reason to visit. The council has its priorities upside down. No customers = no High Street. No public service = more parking requirements. Is there any reason to visit Braintree anymore? The rate it's going it's a dying town and it's all down to the council not promoting the correct priorities. Apparently we're a Portas Town, well other than a few posters, I don't see any appreciable difference other than multiplication and monopolisation of Tesco in the area. If you're going to build another 20,000 houses here, then you're going to have to give them a reason to come. Another Tesco or public transport won't cut it.

  • Fining the homeless
With homelessness increasing across the UK and Northampton we should be dealing with the causes and spending money providing shelter, food and helping folks out of this situation. People asking for food and money are usually in need of society's help not punishment. People not in this situation are damn lucky though with societies safety nets being burnt by this government we may be far from being homeless or in need, so please support this petition.
