  • Keep Manchester Diabetes Centre on Hathersage Road
Many of the patients who attend Manchester Diabetes Centre have mobility issues. Not all but a considerable amount. Enforcing wheelchair users who have become accustomed to the large car park and one tier access are going to struggle in a busy hospital environment. The staff at the centre are always a constant, which gives people suffering with chronic illnesses some comfort and less feeling of anxiety.

  • Save Struan Lodge
Less than two years ago the Cowal and Bute communities made it clear that they strongly opposed the closure or Struan Lodge and Thomson Court respectively. It is simply immoral, unethical and unthinkable that vulnerable elderly residents and their families should have to be put through this cruel and stressful process once again. Our health and care services must be kept in public ownership for allmif us now and in future.

  • Prostate Screening
Prostate cancer kills more men than women suffering from breast cancer. It is about time this discrimination was addressed. Early treatment can save lives and it isn't just old men who get it, but young men with with families to raise.

  • Dedicate a pillar at MK Rose to the creation of the NHS
The NHS will this year be celebrating its 70th birthday having been founded on July 5th 1948. For 7 decades the NHS has been treating the people of this country, from cradle to grave, regardless of their ability to pay and it regularly tops surveys asking people what makes them feel proud to be British. The NHS, since it was created, has achieved much. The NHS has delivered over 44 million (and counting) babies, carries out around 7 millions operations each year and treats more than 1 million patients every 36 hours. We are proud of our NHS, and would like to see its creation celebrated in Milton Keynes.

  • Is Your Drinking Water Safe?
In the USA, glyphosate from Roundup has been found in the water table many miles from where it was applied to the land. This is contrary to the claims of Monsanto who disregard any adverse evidence from independent scientists of the toxicity of Roundup . Following the decision of the EU to renew the license for RoundUp for a further five years it is essential that the water in our reservoirs is routinely analysed and accurate levels of glyphosate ascertained both before and after filtration for two reasons. Firstly to ensure that the filtration system is working efficiently should there be any glyphosate detected in the water source and secondly to have an on- going record of any levels of contamination from "run off" from agricultural land to which Roundup has been applied. At present the Water authorities make their own risk assessment as to whether to test for the levels of glyphosate and AMPA (the breakdown product) . Sadly South West Water , the most expensive provider in the UK, serving Cornwall, Devon, and parts of Somerset and Dorset are upholding their decision NOT to test for this widely used and noxious chemical. Non profit making, Welsh Water by comparison test routinely and accurately for glyphosate and AMPA levels and make the figures freely available. It took four months of investigation to get the answer "No" to the question "Do SWWater test for glyphosate in their water supply?" It is time for legislation to make testing mandatory, followed hopefully by deprivatisation of all water authorities and a return to public ownership.

  • Emotional surport dogs
In the uk 16 million people suffer with a mental health issue, thats 1 in 4 people thats a stagaring amount. Recent and past studies have proven the good efects of a animal with suffers of depresion, anxiaty, even with our servive men and woman with PTSD. I want our government to recognise that animals can be an emotional support for a mental health suffer and prove invaluable in allowing a suffer to carry out day to day tasks. In the UK emotional support dogs are not recognised as our service dogs are, so they cannot go to work with us, go into a shop, travel, go to medical appointments, these are daily tasks that can be daunting and debilitating for a suffer to do and face alone, with the aid of a support dog its proven these tasks are manageable suffers are able to carry on life go out shopping even go to work with such support from a 4 legged friend. Please sign this petition so thousands can benefit from an emotional support dog.

  • Bring organ transplantation into the National Curriculum
There are over 6500 people, including children currently waiting for an organ transplant in the UK. A reluctance to talk about transplants is contributing to a deadly shortage of organs available for donation. Figures have shown that 450 patients waiting for a new organ died last year because families, unsure of their deceased relatives' wishes, declined to donate. A further 875 were taken off the organ waiting list, mainly because of ill health, with many dying shortly afterwards. 'Put yourself in the shoes of someone waiting for a transplant. If you are willing to accept an organ donation, surely it is only right that you should be willing to donate the special gift of life to another family." A family's support is still needed for donation to go ahead, so even if someone is on the NHS organ donor register it's vitally important that they discuss this with their family so that their wishes can be carried out. Providing education in schools will stimulate conversation about transplantation and help reduce concerns felt by children and families. If presumed consent becomes law it will not necessarily end the shortage of available organs. Only informed conversation and education can do this. Without a liver transplant, I would be dead. Over 50,000 people have had their lives saved by organ transplants. I spent 9 months waiting for a liver transplant but 15 years incredibly sick, unable to work for large amounts of time, or maintain relationships. A liver transplant has changed my life but not everyone is so fortunate. I know of one girl, who will remain nameless, that died on the eve of her 21st birthday while awaiting a donor organ. Born with liver disease she received a liver transplant at 18 months and made a recovery. She was waiting for her second transplant when she died. There is no guarantee that another organ will be available for me if I at some stage require one. And there is every chance I and many others will need another. Please help me make a difference.

  • Implement and Enforce the Criminal Finances Act in Full and Without Further Delay
This act has been successfully implemented in the US, targeting those malign actors (particularly in the employ of the Russian State) that utilise intimidation, fear mongering, thuggery, assassination and trolling to further their own ends, the ends of their state and avoid prosecution through the true rule of law. It targets them where they can be hurt the most: their wallets. Following the nerve agent attack in Salisbury on 4th March 18 the Russian State (as by far and away the most likely perpetrator) have taken yet another step towards exporting globalised intimidation, corruption and "warfare by other means". The Sunday Times has today (11th March 18) revealed that, despite promises from the Prime Minister in the 2016 election, "Russian oligarchs and their associates have registered donations of more than £820,000 to the Conservative Party since Theresa May became prime minister" (The Sunday Times - 11 March 18). The leading party in the UK Government has accepted money from the most likely state agent of this attack. As such they cannot be trusted, without pressure, to respond to this attack with the necessary "robustness" that they have promised. There are already calls from within the governing Conservative Party to "wait and collect evidence" so as not to "act disproportionately". The Russian State are reliant on such rigid adherence to "due process", knowing full well how to circumvent it and continue operating with impunity. This petition calls on all MPs in all parties to support the implementation of the Criminal Finances Act IN FULL and IMMEDIATELY as the only appropriate response to this heinous and egregious assault on our sovereignty and our safety. This will not stand, and while our politicians shuffle their feet, wring their hands and worry about their donations, we will act. For Sergei Skripal, his daughter and our own Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey who remains in a serious condition at this time, we raise this petition to force all politicians from all parties (including those financially incentivised to look the other way) to vote in favour of this act as a start to the UK's response to this attack on our people and our nation.

  • Ecologising
My name is Gaia the Garbage. I help run Ecologisers, a Young People's Anti-litter Campaign. For a 2 minute fun-video that gives the whole picture, please visit https://vimeo.com/233979354 We have 4 creative projects we're forwarding and have taken into schools, and universities through current teacher-training routes. These are: Alternative Santa, LItter Goes LIterary, the Children's Humorously Captioned Photography Competition and the writing of EcoSongs. I've written 45 EcoSongs. Put upbeat celebratory eco-lyrics to famous out-of-copyright tunes. This project and others like it are important because the way we tackle problems, including global problems, is not solution-oriented. It's quick-fix or commerically-led. Though we have been running this campaign for 4 years we have funded it ourselves as litter is seen as the pariah of the enivronmental movement. Numerous applications for funding we have made have failed. At Ecologisers we want to make litter 'sexy'!!

  • Stop the inequality that exists in pain management in the NHS
Pain management is an important part of treating people with chronic pain so that they can continue living their lives and functioning on a day to day basis. My mum has fibromyalgia and a degenerative spinal condition and neck. She has been offered very little help on the NHS but she was receiving steroid injections every three months that enabled her to walk again and function on a daily basis. Her commissioning group in Nottingham have now decided that they will no longer offer this service and she has received a letter informing her that if she wants to continue receiving the treatment she will have to pay £550 a time. If she lived in Derbyshire she could continue to receive this treatment for FREE. My mum is 73, she worked all of her life and has paid into the NHS and taken very little out. It is completely unfair to expect my mum who only has her pension to live on to find this money when other people are receiving the treatment for FREE. I understand that the NHS doesn't have money for everything but these injections have been keeping my mum out of a wheelchair and able to walk, able to exercise and able to live her life without the constant pain that she has to endure on a daily basis. The only alternative she is ever given is opiate pain killers which are known to be addictive and do nothing but make her feel ill. Please help me to raise awareness of the inequality that exists in the services that are offered for those who need chronic pain management and campaign for the Nottingham commissioning group to reinstate these services and offer some hope for those with chronic pain to continue receiving treatment for FREE. Health care should not be a postcode lottery. The government have caused this lottery by allowing local areas to commission their own services that they feel will benefit their areas this is causing massive inequalities in health care. The government should ensure that all patients have access to services regardless of where they live. I therefore call upon the government to end the postcode lottery that exists in health care and ensure that everyone has the same access to services.
