Human rights and fundamental freedoms are under attack in Hong Kong. In recent years, booksellers have been abducted, pro-democracy candidates disqualified and barred from standing for election, protestors imprisoned, and the free press undermined. A government proposal that will allow Hong Kong people to be extradited to face unjust trials in mainland China was the last straw. This June, millions took to the streets to say that enough is enough. In 1984, the United Kingdom signed a treaty with China that promised after the handover, Hong Kong people's rights and freedoms will remain unchanged until 2047. But China has broken this promise repeatedly with escalating attacks on Hongkongers' human rights. Recent events are a wake-up call. The British government has a responsibility under international law to protect human rights in Hong Kong. They must show this commitment post-Brexit, by insisting that a human rights clause is included in a future free trade agreement. This will be the first time the UK has ever negotiated a free trade agreement with Hong Kong: it must take a stand to protect human rights, fundamental freedoms and our shared values.

I have been trying to look after my son who is now 29 he has autism and mental health issues. I have tried for the last five years to access him some help, since he was discharged from hospital. I have complained to social service's, local MP, police and mental health services. It seems they are not and don't want to work together to help people like my son. There are policy's in place saying that the above services are there to help by working together but as I've experienced there is a small majority of the service's that do try. I've even experienced a social worker who tried to help actually stand in his own council office and say that "the people in this office are trying to ignore the issues so they don't have to deal with them" whilst on the phone to me. The police turn up every time my son has an episode and say it's down to social services. Social services have now refused to speak to me due to my son being over 18. The MP has tried for the last two years to try and help, after a dozen letter's and numerous requests to have a meeting, we still haven't met. There are a lot of people whom have no family or friends to support them and are just left with no help and this is where the crisis grows and people either end up on the streets or arrested for behaviour which is more an illness. Our government has a duty of care through the services they provide.

I am starting this petition in regards to the decision made to refuse UK residency to a very dear friend of mine. Having experienced racial attacks and prejudice in his native USA, Steffan Chadwick Harris moved to Scotland and has been a member of our community for years, having received a spousal visa through his wife. However, as I’m sure you appreciate, marriages do not always last forever, and Steffan and his wife are currently in the process of divorcing. I lived in the same building as Steffan for many years. Since separating from his wife, Steffan has moved out of Edinburgh and has managed to secure a job working in Kirkcaldy. He has become a much more confident and happy person and is contributing positively to society. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive country who welcome people from all walks of life and I believe that after 8 years in Scotland, Steffan belongs here. I would be very grateful if somehow we could convince the Home Office to reconsider the decision to deny him his future in our country.

Our moral compass is being skewed by apparent trade deals with our international operations, we have blood on our hands.

American veterans children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, as well as the Vietnamese people in the same generations, have been born with a vast variety of birth defects and also suffer far higher rates of cancer. Agent Orange corrupts the DNA for five generations from first contact. We are victims of war who have gone unrecognised, from the grandchild of an American soldier who suffered terribly and died of cancer, the child of a soldier with no quality of life from birth defects, and the many Vietnamese who have suffered terribly, none of whom were involved in the Vietnam War willingly. In addition, the toll taken on the environment from the use of Agent Orange is almost impossible to calculate. Innocent humans and the earth itself have been poisoned by this act of chemical warfare. We deserve recognition.

Sherlockians all have the same thing at the top of their Christmas list. Season 5 of Sherlock. "The return of Sherlock to BBC One was watched by an average of 9.2 million people, according to overnight figures". 9.2 MILLION PEOPLE watched the return of Sherlock for one reason. They wanted to see Sherlock again. I cried when Sherlock 'died', so how many other people do you think cried as well when they thought Sherlock had actually jumped off of Bart's hospital? If 9.2 MILLION PEOPLE watched Sherlock jump off that building, that means at least a few MILLION other people did too.Why? Because we thought that we would never see our great detective ever again, and he WASN'T EVEN DEAD. A few million people cried at a man who hadn't died, so how do you think that made us feel when the whole series ended? I know i'm not alone when I say I would give ALOT to see Sherlock again, so maybe we can convince Mark and Steven to bring our baker street boys back? Neema was born in Burundi and after civil war broke out her family fled to a refugee camp in Kigoma. Her sister was killed in front of her and her mother raped. The refugee camp was very dangerous, families beaten, no food,medicine and people dying. Her mother was seriously ill and her father encouraged her to leave the refugee camp with some others and go to the nearest village and find work. Neema was brought to the UK when she was 23 years of age. Neema met a man and they had a son in 2003. The father left Neema when he found out she was pregnant. In 2010, Neema met another man who promised her a better life in Belguim. They moved to Belgium and she then was physically and sexually abused by the man so returned to the UK in 2012. Neema has had her final appeal heard at the Upper Tribunal hearing for asylum seekers and they have been declined. Even though her son was born in this country and he can claim British Citizenship on 7/12/19 in his own right. Nathaniel has nearly finished Year 10 in school and is doing extremely well. They are both church-goers and well integrated into their community. Neema has lived in the UK most of her life. The Home Office want to return them to Burundi despite the British embassy stating that Burundi is a dangerous place and do not advise visiting. It's a terrifying prospect for them. Please help Neema and her son.
