MEP Hannan has been one of the most vocal adversaries of the continuing participation of the United Kingdom in the European Union. He has claimed that he has no wish or need to remain as MEP. Yet days pass and he has not given any statement as to how he intends to follow through and make his intentions effective. Now that, at his request, the British public have voted him out of a job, it is important that he actually leaves his job. The ability of British politicians to follow through and act on their stated intentions is indispensable at this time of crisis. On it depends the credibility of our representatives among the public and on the international stage.

The EU referendum campaign and result has revealed a huge, almost unbridgeable, gulf between the concerns of the majority in this country and the MPs who are supposed to represent those views in parliament. This is a crisis of representative democracy that can be wholly attributed to the failure of our unwritten constitution and electoral systems. We need a new constitutional settlement for the people of the UK but it needs to be drawn up, not by the UK government and its civil servants in London, but by representatives who are closer to the people: our local authority councillors.

It is now very clear that the implications of leaving the EU are much more damaging for the living standards of UK citizens that many people who voted to leave were led to believe. Many voted out of frustration at government and the unfairness in the country without perhaps realising how dire the consequences of leaving the EU would be for many people in the UK - especially the most vulnerable. MPs took the lead in voting to abolish capital punishment despite contemporary public opinion in favour of its continuance. Now is the time for them to take the lead again and act to save us all from a colossal folly.

Now that we are no longer in the EU we as a nation need to secure more jobs, more revenue and most of all keep our health services up to date with the latest research and advanced technologies available. All over the world studies are proving that cannabis is a very effective form of treatment for hundreds if not thousands of illnesses from back pain to cancer. We recently had a petition that got a response based on out dated information and biased opinions, we are calling our government to base their response on their own personal views based on up to date research and information. The legalisation of cannabis has provided millions of dollars to states in the US. Money which is being used to better their health services, educational systems and much more, why are we not joining in the movement? Legalising Cannabis will help us thrive as a nation through production of hemp products, sales of the herb and mainly help the ill and pained people of the UK. Give us our freedom, end the war on cannabis today!

For too long, we have been a passively friendly society, saying to our UK friends: as long as the UK stays in the EU, we won't leave you. It's often meant we have stood neutral between different values. And that's helped foster a narrative of right-wing extremism and grievance. This Petition will conclusively turn the page on this failed approach. It appears that our friends are in dire need of our help and as a friendly, cultural nation that benefits from all sorts of nationalities from across the world. We need to send a message that we will not allow those unwillingly forced into making their lives more miserable then it already is for them. We hope that the likes of David Cameran understands that this referendum has already caused instability across not only the entire UK but Europe as well. Thanks to this Referendum and the result. It has screwed over many people in not only Scotland but those living in the UK which is all thanks to far-right british nationalism and the propaganda that came with it. We believe a message needs to be sent for those who need help and not let them dead on track to major politcal clashes that will cause bubbles to burst. This pig beared referendum has cause enough damage and we would like to see our future not as a hateful and spiteful independent Scotland but a country that cares about the future of generations to come for all those who live here, including the Welsh. This issue is so important for our country. We are a democracy. It is vital that we accept and respect democratically made decisions, no matter how divisive the underlying issues driving those decisions. Holding a second referendum purely in response to the losing side being unhappy with the initial outcome would be damaging and divisive for our society. It would make a mockery of the democratic process and create still deeper divisions. Emotions in the Remain camp were sure to run high in the event of their losing the Referendum vote. 16 million people voted to Remain. The vast majority will feel they should respect the outcome of the democratic process, even if they do not agree with that outcome. However, it is not right or just that a diehard minority of disatsfied Remainers should attempt to force a second referendum purely on their disagreeing with the outcome of the first vote.

We have all voted with very little knowledge of what our relationship with the rest of Europe - and the rest of the world - will be like if we leave the EU. The two sides in the referendum campaign had wildly different views. We need another vote when these terms have become clearer, or we will be taking a massive leap in the dark.

This is important because the future of the UK should be decided mainly by the younger generation and NOT the older generation who properly won't see the impact that they have put on the UK for leaving the EU!

The people told him their wishes and he needs to act on it now. He doesn't have the right to postpone it. He only wants to postpone it so he is not the Prime Minister who took us out of the EU.

Britain will not leave the EU for at least 2 Years, by which time all these people will be eligible to vote under the current system. The Scottish referendum is a successful precedent. The turnout amongst registered 16-18 year olds in the Scottish referendum was 75%, proving that this age group are motivated and engaged in significant political decisions likely to have a dramatic effect on their future. My daughter is 18 and the referendum has been a constant topic of conversation amongst her school friends over the last few weeks. She voted, but many of her friends, who felt strongly about the issue were powerless to influence the decision because they were not eligible to vote. It is their generation that will feel the effect of this decision more keenly than mine or that of my parents, who have, by all accounts, been the main driving force behind our decision to leave. We should let these well educated and motivated youngsters have a say in the future of their country.

There are thousands of British people working and living in the EU. As a result of this referendum, they may be forced to leave and return to Britain where they have no home, community or security.
