• Ban airport suitcase plastic wrapping
We need to greatly reduce plastic consumption. It can be easily replaced by a cotton cover that people can buy and reuse.

  • Milk in Glass at supermarkets
We are throwing billions of tons of plastic away to be recycled a year. And we now know that none of it is being recycled as we thought and there are unsightly plastic mountains in other countries that is our waste. It is shameful.....

  • Ban Bus Gates and Bus Lanes
Bus gates and lanes make travel to cities overly complicated and disproportionately disadvantage people from outwith the local area. Bus gates are overly complicated and are like traps to catch out the general public who accidentally end up in the wrong lane. In any other instance a safe manoeuvre or detour would correct a navigational error but with bus gates and bus lane cameras any confusion of lane choice becomes a penalty to people who are trying to obey the rules as often there is no way to prevent entering a zone once in a wrong lane on a one way system. Access to city roads should be equal for all vehicles and not restrict the general public from travel. The general public shoud not be subjected to fines or any penalty for trying to navigate round a town in order to buy goods or services to provide for their families.

  • Britain to apply re-join The European Free Trade Association [EFTA]
In 1972 Britain left the European Free Trade Association to join what has become the European Union. The current four members, of EFTA, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Leichtenstein all enjoy a high standard of living. They can trade with both Europe and with other countries. Iceland and Norway have their coastal fishing rights. EFTA is part of the EuropeanThe Single Market but not of the Customs Union Britain and Ireland have both opted out of the.Schengen agreement. This means we can maintain our borders and passports as present. There would be no need for any Irish border There would be a charge, but this is less than half the cost of leaving the EU. This path could be acceptable to both remainers and to leavers Many English and Scottish MPs already accept this to be a solution

  • Palm Oil
The planets great forests are the lungs of the world. They provide us with oxygen and they lock up carbon stopping its escape into the atmosphere. Not only that but the species that live there are being devastated. If we all gave up the many things that contain palm oil the producers would not be able to sell it and it would be pointless growing it. Please, please help the planet and give it up!!

  • THE TRUTH BEHIND CLIMATE CHANGE
I am increasingly concerned for all generations of my family and our community. The prospect of devastation and social upheaval as a result of climate change appals me especially as those I love will be affected most. Projections of sea level change significantly effect Cardiff, my hometown and other coastal cities in the UK, More extreme weather events from heavier rainfall, longer droughts, increased wind speeds and higher temperatures throughout the UK make for an uncertain future. The frustration felt by myself and many others about our future demands urgent political action. A determined and coherent plan about such an issue would ultimately unite our community. The UK brought the world the industrial revolution, the industrial use of hydrocarbons with all the ensuing advances for society. We owe it to all to use our ingenuity and to give the world a lead on a sustainable green future before it is to late..

  • 'Safe to flush' wipes MUST be biodegradable
Tests can be made by placing a wet wipe in a plastic bottle of water ... and waiting to see the result. One of Britains's largest supermarket's own brand wipes do NOT biodegrade. Another's start to biodegrade after a very long period of time. One of the smaller supermarket's wipes begin to biodegrade within hours. This inconsistency results in millions of wipes ending up up in our oceans and on our beaches.

  • Ban Normal Cigarettes - An Unnecessary Mess
ALMOST 200 tonnes of cigarette butts are littered across the streets of our region every year, according to a new study. The report found smoking materials make up 35 per cent of all street litter, with 11 tonnes discarded daily. Tobacco is the world’s leading cause of preventable death, accounting for around 6 million deaths each year. That’s thanks to the cocktail of over 5,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke, of which at least 70 may cause cancer. E-cigarettes, on the other hand, do not contain tobacco. Instead, they carry a nicotine-containing liquid which is heated into a vapour and breathed in. The nicotine satisfies the cravings associated with a smoking addiction, but doesn’t cause cancer. So although E-cigarettes are not perfect, they don't carry this huge annual cost of cleaning up the waste, like normal cigarettes do. This petition is calling on the health secretary to introduce an outright ban on normal cigarettes and stop the huge waste problem it causes every day.

  • Fires in the Bolivian Amazon Region
The lost of the Bolivian rain-forest not only affects Bolivia but the world. As a native Bolivian this is immensely important not only to me, my family here in the UK and in Bolivia, but also to the Bolivian community in this country It is upsetting to us to see that Governments and the press only talk about Brazil, and not about the Bolivian reinforest

  • Don't Cut Fuel Duty
Only recently a climate emergency was called in parliament. Now come reports that Boris Johnson is preparing to cut fuel duty https://www.itv.com/news/2019-08-25/boris-johnson-preparing-to-cut-fuel-duty/ enabling greater production of climate changing CO2 and air pollution. If anything, fuel duty should be increasing. There are other ways to stimulate business and support families that don't encourage activities that endanger our environmental future. Thank you.
