Save Our Seabirds from Danish Over-fishingDenmark recently upped its catch from 82,000 to 458,000 tons a year. Most of this becomes fishmeal to feed farmed salmon, mink and livestock. Meanwhile, puffins and kittiwakes can't feed their young. The RSPB recommends a total ban on fishing for sand eels.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patricia Masterson

Petition to force fast food companies to have unsalted fries with all children’s mealsThis is extremely important as adding salt to fries increases the child’s intake and promotes unhealthy eating which can lead to child obesity and other health related issues. It seems ludicrous that as a parent I have to request that my child’s fries are unsalted which usually results in a longer waiting time. These fast food establishments such as McDonald’s and other high street brands which offer children’s meals need to readdress this, the fries should be sold unsalted as a standard, some parents may not realise that you can request unsalted fries, which is backwards as it shouldn’t even be an options on a child’s meal. It’s about time that this changes. Let’s make a stand and push for companies to do everything in their power to be as healthy a success possibly for ourselves and our children. We all enjoy these places as a treat but we should also be confident in these establishments to be doing everything they can to ensure our meals are fresh and as healthy as possible.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Louise Newton

Diabetic sensorsThis is so important for me to help my 9year grandson who is type1 life easier on a daily basis using these sensors make it easier during the day and at night to check his blood without waking him with finger prick with test strips. These sensors are so expensive to buy and it's hard for a young working couple with other outgoing to have this extra amount of money to go out. You will do without for your child to have these sensors...type 1diabetic have enough to deal with so this makes life so much easier and safer. My friend is also type 1 too and works hard so she can buy these sensors. Type1 diabetics struggle on a daily basis so why can't these be made available on the NHS they are more than test strip but all round a better way to test their blood. I also think all type 1diabetics should have the help make it easier to do bloods with an immediate and painless result. This is a life threatening disease and they can struggle on a daily basis.76 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lyn Rippon

Clean up Horseshoe Common and PondBecause a lot more children than people realise live close to horseshoe common. It’s a beautiful space that should be used as such. Being in the centre of such a largely used town such as Bournemouth and regarded as a ‘natural beauty spot’ that seems to have become the ‘natural dumping spot’16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Long

Current university failed asylum seekers should be allowed leaves to remainIt will save the future of individuals who are vulnerable to immigration status in the uk. Education is basic right of everyone and no one can snatch this right. Education is the only way that can change not only the status of individual but also it can change the society and the world. The home office is treating educated people like animals. So we can not allow the home office do do that.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Muhammad Aslam

Stop Andrew Farotade having to leave the UKAndrew Farotade from Nigeria has a master’s degree in engineering from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. He has worked for the Security Industry Authority in jobs in which he was responsible for the security of highly valuable, hi-tech equipment and intellectual assets worth millions of pounds. Marrying in 2013, his son was born in 2014; but later that year his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She died when the child was 2. 3 days later, and despite working all through his wife's illness in order to meet Indefinite Leave to Remain rules as well as caring for her and their little son, Andrew Farotade was told by the Home Office that his application had been refused. The grounds for refusal were full of errors. An accusation of deceit against him was dropped on the advice of the government's own legal department, and the Home Office agreed to pay his legal fees (which they have not yet done). 3 months after this, they again refused him on the grounds of his "character and conduct" (still unspecified). Andrew Farotade and his 4 year old son's lives are now in limbo. His request for a second judicial review was refused because the judge said the Home Office didn’t have to justify their use of the controversial paragraph 322(5) of the Immigration Rules. He hasn’t been able to work since 21 July 2016. He can’t afford to challenge the ruling in the court of appeal. All he wants to do is to get back to the work the UK's own education system trained him for, to keep himself and care for his son, and to contribute to UK society. Further details of Andrew Farotade's story can be found in https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jul/16/widowed-father-ordered-leave-uk-against-advice-of-home-office-lawyers-andrew-farotade?CMP=share_btn_link .11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by CR Couchman

Re placement GatesGates have been erected at Maudland Road thru to Seymore Road, South Shore, Blackpool, it is understood the gates were for the security of the rear of St Heliers Road. The placement of the gates has restricted access to and from Bancroft park and the South Shore area as well as easier access to bus routes on Lytham Road and the main gate of Blackpool Gateway Academy. These inconveniences have had a detrimental effect on the residents of St Heliers Road, Saville Road, Maudland Road, Baron Road, Stansfield Street and Central Drive and beyond. The problems cover a range of issues, namely lowered security, health issues, traffic problems and the general wellbeing of the community. Repositioning the access to this walk way will allow access to Bancroft park and South Shore and improve the wellbeing of many of the residents.68 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Debby Godfrey-Brown

Open the new Blue Coat free secondary school in Meridian Centre, Oldham OL8The residents of Coppice, Primrose Bank and other areas of West Oldham desperately need a Secondary school with good attainment level in our area following the closure of St Augustine and Grange School! Schools census stats from January 2017 show minority ethnic pupils now make up 46.5% of primary school pupils in state-funded Oldham schools & 39.8% of pupils in state-funded Oldham secondary schools. According to Oldham Council’s 2018 profile document just 22.5% of the Oldham population is BME. The majority of the BME population lives around town Centre. The number of foreign born children in Oldham schools increased from 318 pupils to 2,471 in just 4 years. The national insurance figures release for January to March 2018 show another 530 adult migrants arrived in Oldham with 77% settling in Oldham’s central Ward. The rapid growth of our area cannot be put to one side with land and housing being sold off to the younger population at a rapid rate. Families are concerned for their children with the need of a Secondary School in Town Centre base. Our infrastructure spend in Oldham recently has been on shops, sporting recreation facilities and the community hub which all young children use HOWEVER what about our childrens education needs? Why is this issue being voided by our representatives when we have continual young family growth in the area? Parents urge Oldham Council and The Blue Coat secondary school to open their new free school in Meridian Centre, Oldham OL8 Oldham Council and Bluecoat will be making their final decision on the new school's location soon, so we need act now and make our voices heard - loudly. Please also reach out to your local councillors and MP to ensure we as a community of engaged and committed parents are heard and the educational needs of our children met.73 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Syed Maruf Ali
