Research from 2017 at Cardiff University suggested that 60% of British people in poverty live in a household where someone is in work. This simply has to change. We are calling on the Vice Chancellor to follow suit of many other Universities, and pay staff a reasonable amount. For a university that earned a £27 million surplus before tax in 2016-17, this is the least it can do.

Most importantly this will save lives, and fires getting out of hand so that the issue can be dealt with before it’s a full scale evacuation l.

Hywel Dda University Health Board's plans include 3 options - ALL of which will close the A&E units at Glangwili and Withybush hospitals. The Glangwili unit was built relatively recently and Withybush has also been upgraded. The plan calls for building a new major hospital in the countryside "somewhere between Narberth and St Clears". All 3 options list as a disadvantage that patients will have to travel further to access planned and emergency care in an area already poorly served by public transport and with a limited number of ambulance stations and ambulances to cover a large rural area; while it's true we have the excellent Wales Air Ambulance, that can't be everywhere. Making patients travel further to reach A&E could cost lives. A secondary issue arises from the likely difficulty patients and visitors will face in travelling to the proposed new hospital, especially if they don't have access to a car. The current policy of making payments to the bank account of one designated person in a household couple can create a situation of financial hardship in couples where domestic abuse is an issue. The current policy of being able to make an ‘application for special circumstances’ in which to request separate payments is likely to cause further friction in couples where domestic abuse is taking place, and the application is therefore unlikely to be made. We request a reverse of this policy so that it reverts to being the norm for individual payments to made with a ‘special circumstance request’ process available for couples who choose to designate a single payee.

The rubbish and litter situation along the A2 between Canterbury and Dover is now out of control and a national and local disgrace. The problem has been escalating year on year and is now totally unacceptable potentially endangering the health of the public with bottles of urine being thrown from vehicles on to the roadside. The valiant efforts of volunteers are now at its limit and the situation overwhelming and fraught with danger trying to stem the tide of defecation being heaped on to this our beautiful countryside. Canterbury City Council, Kent County Council, Highways England and various other authorities have all been made aware of this appalling situation by outraged residents and despite the constant stream of concern and level of complaint raised, there appears nothing is being done to properly address the situation and find a solution and deterrent to it. This has got to stop and this petition calls upon all those in authority to act accordingly and bring an end to this intolerable blight on our lives.

Historically the UK has produced 10% of the world's man made CO2 emissions and we can, and should, take the lead in eliminating these emissions. We allow "venting" (the cleaning process) of conventional power stations even though we know it will kill the old, young and infirm. Other methods of pollution are also unhealthy. If our generation do not clear up the mess, then it could be too late for the next generation to do so. Paying for all of this by eliminating the scourge of mental illness is a great way of funding for such a big plan. A near-zero CO2 economy would also be self-sufficient, which would be a strategic asset, and a soil improver.

If you feed your pet food from pouches, you'll know how many they can get through. As my kitten grew bigger and hungrier, I was shocked to find that these pouches were not recycled. But the technology exists to recycle them. This plastic aluminium laminate packaging is increasingly used by manufacturers because it is cheap and uses much less energy to produce and transport than other packaging, but it is going into landfill at the rate of thousands of tonnes annually, because very few councils recycle it. The recycling process produces high grade aluminium as well as oil from the plastic. In Hackney, more than £33,000 worth of aluminium a year is ending up in landfill unnecessarily, from these pet food pouches alone. If Hackney is really serious about being a green borough, let's lead the way in getting this packaging recycled. It is possible!

No animal deserves to die a slow and agonising death with very unnecessary suffering. Glue traps are also indescriminate - they can trap loved pets and wildlife that was not under target.

These people came at the invitation of the Government of the day to take up jobs which the indigenous population were unwilling to do. They have paid their taxes and National Insurance and contributed to the wealth of the nation. One individual is being asked to pay £60.000 before he can have an operation for prostate cancer. To then say after such a long time that they are illegal and therefore should be deported is against natural justice and against the values of any civilised society.

Customers of Essex and Suffolk Water Are you fed.up with hard water? Are you fed up buying descalers, Calgon tablets and metal blocks to put in your kettle? Are you fed up with replacing shower heads, water pipes, washing machines, boiler systems and kettles? Are you fed up seeing residues on plates, glasses, cutlery, at home, in bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels and cafes, lines around your bath and scum on your cups of tea and coffee? Are you having to double dose detergent, washing up liquid, soap powders, shampoo and bubble bath quantities because products are not working correctly because of the hard water? Are you appalled that Sea Life in Great Yarmouth have an animal mortality rate THREE TIMES WORSE than is deemed normal, due to the quality of the water being supplied as previously seen on BBC East News items? Despite all of this, Essex and Suffolk Water have no foreseeable plans, or intention, at least for the next 10 years, to improve water quality in Suffolk. We have the hardest possible level of water hardness almost anywhere in the country. Even Yorkshire and London have significantly better water quality than the people of Suffolk are being provided. They have claimed that unless they receive SIGNIFICANT numbers of complaints, this WILL NOT CHANGE. They have claimed that additional unwanted costs to customers bills outweighs any need for change. The additional costs to bills would reduce, by far the month to month and year to year expenses of having to shop for, maintain and replace/purchase home items. If you total all the additional expenses, environmental impacts, constant changes of home appliances and maintenance a small, but proportionate, increase in billing can resolve all of this and leave you, in the longer term, financially better off. We, the people of Suffolk demand better, safer, cleaner, softer water, to help ourselves, reduce our expenses, help our environments and save wildlife in the region, in zoos or marine parks as identified Essex and Suffolk Water users should demand prompt and immediate action by Essex and Suffolk Water to facilitate greater improvements for the greater good of the communities you serve.

It is important because when a family/parent loose their child and an inquest has come out and said that that person did not deliberately hurt their child but it was natural causes that killed their child, therefore everyone should let people grieve in there own way and time and the press shouldn’t have to publish it and plaster it all over social media such as my daughters case for example, I want to help change people views about how it is wrong for the press to think it’s a “story” then can announce to everyone on the social media especially without any consent and for my daughters case we didn’t even consent to it being published but it somehow was a “story” to the press and they published it when I was in the hospital grieving about my dear daughter who sadly passed away at 12 days old.

There is no legal requirement for the prime minister to consult MPs before taking military action, or even to inform them. In 2007, shortly after entering No 10, Gordon Brown vowed to limit the Royal Prerogative under which the prime minister can unilaterally declare war. Parliament, Brown proposed, would be guaranteed the right to approve “significant, non-routine” deployments of the armed forces to “the greatest extent possible”. But absorbed by the 2008 financial crisis and the recession that followed, the government abandoned reform. Under the recent era of international relations and modern warfare catastrophic and irreparable damages to human and other life can be caused on errors of judgement. The constitutional powers, accordingly, need to be reviewed and renewed.
