Fairbourne Beach AccessAt present the beach is inaccessable to a good portion of the general public who are not prepared to risk broken bones or worse i.e.permanent or life threatening injury. The beach is only approachable at present by attempting to struggle over lots of variable size rocks and stones for approximately 30/40 feet in a downhill gradient its worse trying to get back up! Fairbourne is a seaside destination for lots of tourists and being unable to access the beach will put off visitors and tourists thereby having a detrimental effect on all local business. Worse case scenario is if there is an accident or a sea rescue had to take place then emergency services would have great trouble and use up a lot of valuable time trying to attempt a rescue. This shows a complete lack of "Duty of Care" by Gwynedd Council towards Locals and visitors and reinforces the stigma already attached to Fairbourne by Gwynedd Council when it was "leaked" and highlighted in the BBC TV programme that sea defences would only be msintained in the short term thereby causing a dramatic fall in house prices. This was how the villagers first heard of this via National News!454 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Christine James

Make Kirklees Council sack Kingdom SecurityThis petition has been amended to correct an error, to incorporate new information and to add this new development: On the 8th May 2018, the government announced a consultation on 'litter officers' and is asking for your views. Please sign this petition and then see the government DEFRA consultation page to make yourselves heard. The 1990 Environmental Protection Act is being misused for profit by Kirklees Council and its controversial private outsourcing firm Kingdom Security. The following cases are a small sample of what is happening across the UK in each of the 30+ areas where councils have initiated a ‘litter policing’ scheme by outsourcing to Kingdom. These cases highlight some of the ways in which our rights are being abused by local councils in the pursuit of shared revenue. They also highlight some of the dangers of local authorities outsourcing to private companies, abandoning oversight and disregarding responsibility; and illustrate why Kirklees should immediately cancel its contract with Kingdom. Imagine your elderly mother is leaving a shop and is suddenly cornered by two strange men demanding she give them £75 and her personal details because they say her receipt fell out of her bag as she left the shop. They are not policemen and they do not look or act like professionals, so she tries to ignore them but they stand in her way. They threaten her with the Police and the Courts if she does not 'comply' with them. They say they work for the Council. They do not tell her she has the right to remain silent but they do tell her she has no right to question them or to protest. How would she feel? Imagine you're in the park, peacefully feeding the ducks, and two of these 'officers', equipped with little more than a basic security check and a lanyard, loom over you to demand the same because they say feeding the ducks is littering. They intend to issue you with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) for an environmental 'offence'. You protest at such a ludicrous interpretation of the Act and try to leave. They follow you, demanding you comply. People are stopping to stare and listen. How would you feel? You come home to find your wife distraught after she and your two young children were followed in a car for ten minutes by a stranger demanding she pay £75 because she had stopped for a moment to shake something from her shoe. She was so scared and upset she had to seek shelter in a friend's house, when the Kingdom officer finally left her alone. How would you feel? That case was witnessed by a Welsh undercover reporter who expressed the discomfort he had felt while spying on the victim and following her. In the same report, an ex-employee described Kingdom’s pressure to achieve four FPNs a day. The staff issuing these fines are not trained police officers and they have no professional rigour or standards. They have little understanding of the law and they use no discretion in its application. They are frequently caught on camera denying people's own right to film them. They wear bodycams but record no evidence of alleged offences. They only start recording evidence once they cherry-pick a target, giving no protection against false accusations. One ex-employee said he made almost £1000 in financial incentives in one month. The system is ripe for exploitation and that is exactly what is happening. The dubious practices of Kingdom Security have also been the subject of countless other newspaper reports and a BBC Panorama documentary in May 2017, after which Kent Council suspended all their Kingdom staff. In addition, YouTube has hundreds of videos by shocked victims and witnesses which evidence the aggression, as well as the distress and the public disorder being caused. In one of these, a Kingdom 'officer' in Liverpool is chased off by a small crowd of shopkeepers, disgusted by his manhandling of a visibly frail, elderly man with learning difficulties. This is what happens when police powers are given to members of the public. This is what happens when councils like Kirklees put profits before people. This is what happens when services are outsourced to private firms. Kirklees has already seen many complaints from its own residents, demanding to know why they are being intimidated, harassed, publicly humiliated and falsely accused on the council's behalf. A sham appeals process does not allow for the concept of innocence, since no evidence is apparently required; meaning victims are simply stonewalled with threats of court action. I have been falsely accused myself by Kingdom in a distressing, humiliating experience which felt like an assault. All protests were overridden with threats of the police and demands for personal information. I will be giving my testimony in court. Kirklees will not bully me. Pensioners, students, the unemployed, the homeless, people with learning difficulties and mental health issues: no distinction is made as Kirklees demands money with menaces from its already austerity-hit residents. In 2017, one of Kirklees' own councillors publicly cautioned them against Kingdom after personally witnessing a worrying incident in Huddersfield. In March 2018, following public protests by several campaign groups over the dubious tactics employed by Kingdom, Gwynedd Council in Wales halted a 12-month trial after just two days. Anglesey Council also suspended their contract in March. In May, Llandudno’s tourism chief stated that Kingdom are doing more harm than good to the town; underlined by another official’s description of the environment being created by Kingdom as ‘purely negative’. It is time for Kirklees to adopt some respect for the public it serves; to follow the lead of these councils and to end its contract with this unethical company. Kirklees needs to clean our streets of the Kingdom 'litter police'.91 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Lee

Sell houses locally firstImpoverished families are struggling to improve their quality of life as the housing market is made so competitive and expensive by the purchase of these homes. It also hurts student's chances of breaking in to the property market until they are in their 30s it is predicted, and the homeless population in the UK is still growing while these houses sit unused and unavailable. Some families are forced to live in derelict conditions as house prices continue to rise out of their range, which means they remain in locations where violence, theft, and other dangers could be a problem. The more houses are bought up and create a rise in house prices with the lower availability of housing, the more local families are pushed out of their home locations as rent rises and they musk seek homes somewhere else.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Stronach

Passenger journeys in London and the south east have more than doubled in the last two decades. With such a growth Thameslink decided to reduce the number of trains on this route from 3 to 2. Both passing from Bedford with not enough capacity for the amount of passengers commuting on this route. In addition, the last train is at 5.55 not suitable for most City workers hence creating work issues work such huge working population. We need more trains!59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Your Voice

Re-Development for Stallards Skate Park in TrowbridgeThe young people of Trowbridge have moved forward over the last 10 years, as has scootering and skating in general, the park is not accessible to new riders as it is an extreme park and their is no information on the outside of the park to explain the safety aspect to the users of parents. The park has a lot of additional areas that could be easily developed to incorporate a better space for young people and help them from using streets to preform their tricks to increase their ability. The skate Park in Trowbridge is well used and with better facilities to a growing number of young people could be increased further.91 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Holland

Petition to improve the quality of Hostel style accommodation in LeedsThe number of people sleeping rough is increasingly becoming a national issue in the UK with figures rising for the seventh year from 1, 768 in 2010 to 4,751 in 2016. Leeds has also seen an increase in those sleeping rough with numbers increasing from 13 people in 2015 to 28 in 2017. Now this may not seem like this many but 28 people sleeping on the streets is still 28 people with nowhere to live, no access to electricity, clean water or food. Walking around Leeds it certainly seems like there are more than 28 people sleeping rough and with more people seeming to appear each week it is clear that there is nowhere else these people have to go or want to go. Upon a discussion with those sleeping rough Leeds City Council reported in its "Homeless Strategy 2016-19" that people were reluctant to spend a night in Leeds hostels and stating that the accommodation provided in Leeds acts as a barrier to getting off the streets. People don't want to sleep in Hostels, horror stories of people getting beaten up and the treatment they receive here put many people off staying in this form of accommodation. During the snow earlier this year many hostel in Leeds city centre found themselves massively over capacity and not able to deal with the numbers of people seeking refugee from the weather. This is the second year the weather has dropped below freezing causing severe snow in the city centre. Hostels and rough sleeping accommodation can't cope with the numbers of people they receive in these cold temperatures and can't get people to stay when there isn't an emergency weather warning. This just shows the issue which Leeds has with the quality of the hostels. A successful hostile will help people all year round not only when it is too dangerous or cold for people to sleep on the streets. Leeds City Council needs to look at the Hostels which are currently in operation in Leeds and bring them up to an acceptable standard of which rough sleepers want to spend the night. Communicating with those sleeping rough to improve them in a way which will encourage people to spend the night instead of choosing to spend the night on the streets over the hostels which can be found in Leeds.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Erin Mason

LONG TERM TENANCY AND RIGHT TO BUY FOR ALL TENANT IN TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION IN THE LAST 5 YEARSIt is important for our policy makers to think about families, youths and children when designing policies. Also, think about the long-term impact of this policy will have on families with low income. Economic development is beneficial however human development further help the government to produce economic stability and security. The current housing policy is a disaster to families like mine who are on low income, studying, working and in temporary accommodation with kids. The impact it has on children and relationship is terrible. Having to be in another type of fix term tenancy after moving from borough to boroughs or private to temporary is financially draining on household and future prospect. I want the council to give re-en state life-term tenancy with the right to buy for families in temporary accommodation and families on low income with kids. If the council doesn't have more home let them build more home or increase the current rent of tenant to be able to raise fund to build more homes. Cancelling life-term tenancy for young families is absolutely unfair, economic focus and damaging to community development of the borough. Thank you7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dola O

Stop Advertising with Guns and WeaponsThese images are plastered all over the tube, buses, bus shelters, newspapers, magazines etc. Subliminally de-sensitising young minds that this is ok and the norm. Young minds and easily manipulated minds that see the hero carries a gun or knife. There has been 11 fatal shootings already this year in London, and endless knife attacks resulting in fatalities not to mention acid attacks. Though this may not be considered an important change we need to change the influence culture has. We can't change the films and games themselves but we can change the way they are sold to us, glorifying killing. And these small changes will contribute to the change in society. I have started an instagram page documenting what I see called. https://www.instagram.com/gunsonthetube9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by G unson
