Save Sally the lollipop ladySally the local lollipop lady for my sons school Burraton primary school is being cut. People drive too fast along the stretch of road outside the school and without her in place it is dangerous for the children. The council have decided to cut 19 sites throughout Cornwall and without these men and women in place it is dangerous for the children. There are no alternative crossings for the children to use in the area. Always polite and curtious the lollipop men and women are not just a safe way to help the children cross the road but also help teach Road safety and manners. Without them in place I believe we will see an increase in accidents and even deaths along the stretches of roads they patrol. Save Adlington LibraryOur libraries do more than simply loan books. They provide events for children, internet access for the elderly, book clubs and more. They’re places for the whole community to come together and learn. Libraries are a door into the world, we need to protect them for future generations.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Caroline Hesketh

Keep Camden Town Food Market IndependentCamden Town is one of London's major tourist attractions and part of its charm is the amount and variety of small business owners who each sell a wide range of food from all around the world. Some were in tears yesterday as the new market management told them the news. The independent traders were also told to keep very quite about this development or they would be turfed out before the month was up ,The new management intend to replace the 200 present food traders with a corporate style concept where every trader is working for them with a till system taken .4,220 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Tom Maloney Maloney

Save Barrowford LibraryBarrowford Library is an active and much-needed resource, with users ranging in age from the very young to the very elderly. A dedicated and professional library service is a must in any civilised society and the scale of cuts proposed to Lancashire's library facilities are unacceptable. The library has regular reading and dedicated events for children and a variety of library-based activities for locals. The removal of the library and sale of the building would mean that there are no other community spaces to do these activities. Once removed these facilities will not be replaced. Barrowford is a growing community and should not be deprived of a library.173 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rebecca Gregg

Keep Tytherington Free School BusesThis is extremely important as children's safety is paramount. The Council say that the Middlewood Way is safe enough for children to walk, but its not. There are many reasons that they have obviously not taken into consideration!1,300 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Michaela Page

SAVE MUSWELL HILL LIBRARYMuswell Hill Library is under threat! 1. Haringey Council are trying to close Muswell Hill Library so that they can sell off the building. 2. They want to fund projects elsewhere in the borough. 3. Muswell Hill Library is a listed building of great significance - yet the council claim "investing in this building is not a priority". 4. Instead they are offering a downgraded library service in a dark, oppressive space with low ceilings, beneath a major luxury flats development. 5. There will be no disabled parking or possibility to set down passengers with limited mobility - despite being located on one of the steepest hills in London. 6. The 'consultation' only offers two possible options - stay in the existing building with no improvements, or move to the alternative site. Our Campaign 1. The Friends of Muswell Hill Library have been given a quote to improve the existing library for just £60,000. 2. We are campaigning for Haringey Council to go ahead with this option 3. This modest cost would cover a lift, a disabled toilet, better disabled access 4. Haringey Council claim that these minor modifications would cost £680,000! This is 11 times more than the true cost! 5. Catherine West MP has written to the leader of Haringey Council in support of our campaign. What can you do to help? 1. Sign this petition - and get your friends and family to do so! (link goes here). If we get 2,220 signatures we can trigger a Full Council debate! 2. Join our facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/save.muswell.hill.library 3. Spread the message in the media and follow us on Twitter @FriendsN10 4. Go to www.haringey.gov.uk/survey/mhl-consultation and fill in the questionnaire. Respond ‘Strongly Agree' to Option 1 and ‘Strongly Disagree’ to Option 2. Remember to click the ‘Submit’ button. 5. Write to the responsible councillor, Bernice Vanier - you can email her at [email protected] 6. Write to the responsible civil servant, Zoe Robertson - you can email her at [email protected] 7. Make a formal complaint to Haringey Council - that they have not consulted on all options - you can do this by clicking here: https://eforms.secure.haringey.gov.uk/ufs/ufsmain?formid=CST_CACS&FBT=CSC3,258 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by George Danker

Ban Dangerous Pesticides in BrentThe use of glyphosates has already been banned or restricted in 8 countries and the EU has recently stepped back from renewing its approval. It is not acceptable that ourselves, our children and the animals we share our community with are being routinely exposed to these chemicals whether we like it or not. This is a matter of great importance for those of us who care about each other's health and the health of our children, our cats, our dogs and all the flora and fauna of this city, of course including bees and other insects essential to pollination. Protect our children and teachers from asbestos exposure at schoolMy Mum died on Sunday 26th June 2016 from mesothelioma, a cancer that comes from exposure to asbestos. It can lie dormant for a long time, meaning that victims are diagnosed with the illness 15 to 60 years after their exposure. Mum believes she was exposed to asbestos in the schools she taught in. Before she died I promised her that I will do my best to make sure no-one else has to suffer like she has. The facts about asbestos in schools • 86% of UK schools have asbestos in them, putting over 7 million pupils at risk. A survey in 2015 found that 44% of teachers have not been told if their school contains asbestos. This lack of awareness puts them and their pupils at risk of exposure. • More than 224 school teachers in England have died of mesothelioma between 2003 and 2012. There is a similar pattern for school support and maintenance staff. Last year 22 teachers died, meaning the UK has the highest death rate in the world. Experts predict that the number of school related deaths in the UK will continue to rise. • Children are particularly vulnerable to developing mesothelioma. A five year old child that is exposed is five times more likely to contract mesothelioma than someone exposed to asbestos in their 30s. It is reported that between 200 and 300 people die each year from exposure to asbestos as school children. All of these deaths are completely preventable. We've known the dangers since the 1960s with legislation controlling its use since the mid-1980’s. 2 million asbestos fibres can fit on a pin head but mesothelioma can develop from ingesting only one or two fibres. There are no safe levels of exposure to asbestos. Mum taught over 800 children and was a wonderful teacher and very committed to her work. Some of her ex-pupils recently wrote to her saying ‘you were the best reception teacher we could ever have wished for and you gave us the best grounding in education that anyone could ever have’. I’ve seen first hand the pain and suffering that mesothelioma causes. I’ve lost my darling Mum to this terrible disease, as a parent I need to be sure that my school age daughter is not being put at risk simply by going to school. We can't let more of our children and teachers die from this entirely preventable disease. Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP, Secretary of State for Education must prioritise the removal of all asbestos from all our schools.124,930 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Lucie Stephens

PIP AssesmentsIm asking for everybody to help and sign this petition as my dad has had all of his allowance stopped. I'm sure everyone who knows my father would agree he is not in the best health. It breaks my heart to even have to write this, but all his benefits have stopped. A man who worked so hard for years and year in ill health to provide for his family and now they take this away from him as well as his dignity make me so mad and upset. Please will you all sign the petition not for me , but for him and all the other people being denied their money through PIP! Its extremely important, because this is causing people who desperately need this money to function in everyday life . People that rely on this allowance will not be able to function without it!!! People who have medical history and have been classed as disabled already are getting no money at all or very little. They are not being assessed with accuracy!! Everyone's case is different, but through many cases I have discussed the final result has ended the same. Everything's stopped and it's disgusting !!!32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Ellis

Scrap the changes to disabled childrens transportThe London Borough of Redbridge has recently announced that they will introduce a "pilot scheme", without consultation, to force disabled children who need a door to door minibus service between home and school to instead go to a muster point on a main road and wait to be collected by a coach Children with severe disabilities will no longer be collected from their homes to attend school and instead will have to make their own way to points on main roads where they will be collected and dropped off. These children have various disabilities and have been identified by the council as in need of this service. The Chair of Children Services, said in January that there would be no changes without consultation, yet we have just been told this will now happen in September as a "pilot".3,127 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Jason Naicker
