• Stop evictions so landlords cannot then rent to councils at a higher rate
Private landlords are using this system to get around the housing benefit caps. It puts more pressure on councils and housing associations to supply decent accommodation to the most vulnerable people, when they do not have the resources to do so. The government should now step in and stop this happening. They introduced the housing benefit caps, but the system is flawed. They should ensure that councils themselves should not have to pay more than the benefit caps.

  • Rid the UK of the Gender Pay Gap
It is important so that our daughters know that when they study, work-hard and contribute to society in the same way as their male counter-parts, they are not penalised for the sex they happen to be. In today's, modern, inclusive society where anti-discriminatory practice is common-place, we believe it is the Conservative Governments duty to implement equality of pay, regardless of sex. The gender pay gap currently resides at 10%, meaning men earn 10% more just for being men. How can we hope to encourage more women into Government and the boardrooms of the country when the pay gap exists on top of the many other barriers to success women may face? Sign our petition to give women true equality in the work-place.

  • Save Hove Library
The City Council has announced plans to close Hove Library and re-open a new service in Hove Museum in 2017. We are concerned that the new service will be less central, smaller and won't be able to accommodate the full range and scope of the existing service. We are concerned that Hove Library as we know and love it is closing, and an iconic piece of local history will be lost forever. Hove Library is well used and loved by our community. It is a lifeline to many. It is free to use and popular. It provides great value costing the council taxpayer only 32p per week per person. Our library helps our community: 34% of library users have no home internet access and 32% are jobseeking. Over 30,000 children use libraries in Brighton and Hove ranging from homework clubs to baby boogie. Over 600 people attend reading and writing workshops. Hove library is home to special collections, provides a safe space and helps break down barriers.

  • No go Lotto
It means that there will be less winners on Lotto and more roll over jackpots. I want people to voluntarily stop buying, and or boycott, the purchase of Lotto tickets, until the lottery company put their number of lotto balls back to 49 from the 59 that they updated it to on Thursday 8/10/15. This is a rip off as a few years ago lotto increased the price of a ticket to £2 from £1. The increase in the number of balls means less winners for all prizes including the jackpots and more roll overs.

Because the child should not have been given up for adoption until they had been tried. It's disgusting that the social services can give away a 6 week old baby before it has been confirmed by a judge and jury has heard all the evidence on one persons view no way should this be allowed we must stand behind these parents for the sake of future mistakes

  • Stop Charging Additional Hidden VAT
The plan to cut use of plastic bags is good for the environment and the government state that the 5p charge will go to charity. The reality is they are charging retailers 1p vat on each bag sold. Retailers have already accounted for their cost of packaging and vat is paid on the total price. Therefore every purchase now raises an extra 1p vat being paid directly to the government. This additional vat charge now means that non vat purchases will be liable for a 1p vat charge.

  • Don't impose the junior doctor contract in Northern Ireland
The proposed new junior doctor contact is not safe or fair for patients or doctors. It removes vital safeguards that protect junior doctors from working dangerously long hours thereby endangering patients and doctors. The contract changes out of hours work, devaluing the work done in the evenings and weekends. The changes would penalise those going into general practice at a time when there is a chronic shortage of GPs in Northern Ireland. The Scottish and Welsh governments have already said they will not impose the contract.

  • Stop BSKYB taking over Football in the UK
The proposals being put through would be drastic for the pub and club trade, they are already in decline and not having the ability to source sport from other mediums other than BSKYB would no doubt close 1000's of pubs as SKY's prices are extortionate, SKY actually charge circa £70 per month to put there system in "your home" they will then put exactly the same system in a pub for anywhere up to £1500 per month, this in itself is terrible, pubs can't afford it and BSKYB and the Premier league are trying to push this Parliament change through, it will destroy the UK pub trade for the sake of their greed.
