I am a disabled stepmother to a beautiful and bright 4 year old who started school this September. As September drew closer, I became excited by the idea of being able to have an active part in his school life, meeting other parents, and even helping out in school. But as I am also a disabled person, this dream has not been so straightforward. Whilst my appeal was upheld by the independent schools' admission appeals panel, this is not the case for all disabled parents who are allocated inaccessible school placement for their child(ren) under Birmingham City Council’s schools admissions policy. Many disabled parents are being given school places at schools that are both inaccessible to travel to and to get around. Had I not been successful with my appeal my stepson would have either had to have been home-schooled (which is not a decision I feel is right for him) or we would have had to pay out for before and after school care that we wouldn't actually need, purely because of being given a school place at a school that wasn't accessible for me to get to. Our case is not isolated. Across the country there are 2.1 million disabled parents, many of whom are either having to fit the bill of expensive childcare that they wouldn't need if they were non-disabled, or travel costs, which are frequently not covered by the local authority. Some disabled parents have even chosen to home school simply because the childcare costs are not sustainable. I believe that Birmingham City Council schools admission policy is both discriminatory and illegal as the city council does not often make reasonable adjustments for disabled parents and carers as is required under the equality act (2010). If Birmingham City Council changed their admissions policy it would be a step towards making disabled parents far more included in their children's education. It would be helpful for the Department for Education’s Schools Admissions Code to include guidance on how councils’ schools admissions policies should comply with their Equality Act 2010 duties around disabled parents request for an accessible school for themselves. This has been recommended on a national level by various charities - including the Alliance for inclusive Education

It is important to for a government to support and look after those who are most vunerable in society. If we lose track of the basic fundamentals of decency, then we have no right to call our country 'great'. Added to this, the threat of reducing the income for those in support to the level of JSA - regardless of the pain suffering and extra cost that being severely ill incurs. To be placed in the support group proves that the person has illness that shows they are unfit for work. To push these people who are already trying to cope with the most basic day to day needs, is barbaric, cruel and shows a government with no empathy at all.'

Morality. A small island nation wiped out by the United States of America with the co-operation of their British toadies between 1967 and 1973 when the entire population was exiled. The islanders' territory stolen because of 'strategic importance' (for the Yanks). There is often talk of British 'decency'. It simply doesn't exist, especially when the strings are pulled by Uncle Sam. It's time to stop this outrageous nonsense. Give the Chagos back now. And at least they'd inherit a first class airfield to bring in tourists - Diego Garcia International!

The transfer and processing of waste in an urban area with ecological sites nearby is unacceptable. Increased noise, stench, dust and vermin on the site, increased HGV traffic, and an increased fire risk would affect: - residents' health, quality of life, and safety - local wildlife including protected and at risk species - air, water and soil quality - local businesses, private properties, a playground, schools and roads A factory that can process waste 24 hours per day, with HGV’s traveling through an urban area night and day is unacceptable. We call on Lincolnshire County Council to reject the application.

The CPS are already under pressure so would not in my opinion put as much emphasis on Animal cases. Animal Welfare Vets Police the RSPCA and even the CPS themselves would rather it would stay as is. What benefit could there possibly be in changing from an organisation that only deals with Animal Welfare.

One life lost is too many and the people of Shotton want to let the irresponsible speeders know that enough is enough. Pedestrians and other road users need to feel safe in Shotton and the only way to stop speeding is to slow the irresponsible drivers down before another life is lost.

The GP system in Edinburgh is falling apart and the GP surgeries are coping the only way they can - by limiting registrations. But everyone has the right to be registered with a GP. Restricting GP services could lead to more people self-diagnosing and self-medicating. Many may have to resort to going to A&E even though they should not need to. NHS Lothian needs to step in here. They need to recruit more GPs and regulate the behaviour of the GP surgeries.

The Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs want to repeal the RSPCA's right to prosecute in private animal abuse cases because Government say doing so is a conflict of interest with their campaigning and fund-raising this is not the case and is just a cover to pass this through Parliament. If our Government was so concerned with the rise in animal abuses they would invest in the RSPCA to bring about more prosecutions so that RSPCA would not need to spend so much time and resources in campaigning and fund-raising to bring animal abuses to the forefront. I strongly suspect this repeal is to protect huntsmen from prosecution in fox hunting and other blood sports that is banned as it is a well known fact that Government want this important animal protection act repealed. This must not be left to the Crown Prosecution Service to bring about animal abuse cases as those cases will be eroded in favour of more important human criminality and given the pressure the CPS is already under it is right that the RSPCA has this right as the RSPCA around the world does and besides the Police Force have enough to deal with as it is whilst under immense cuts to services themselves. At a time when hunting and various other forms of abuse is on the rise not only in the UK but around the world this is not the time to relax such powers if anything they should be enhanced given that animals have just as much right to live on this planet free from harm and suffering as we humans do.

I am a student at Blackburn University Centre I have created a project linking with the LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuals and Transgender plus) Community. I think there is a lack of support out there. There was support sessions in place but due to funding cuts the help diminished so I want to re-instate that to the public. So I want to have support sessions in place offered by trained staff in all schools, colleges and Universities. I feel that there is a need of this campaign due to a lack of understanding of the meanings and clarification of the LGBT+ Community. SO I want YOUR HELP!! Some facts - 58% did not feel that their school was a safe and welcoming place for lesbian, gay or bisexual pupils, also 13% said that reporting bullying actually resulted in anything being done about it. 50% of lesbian and bisexual women under the age of 20 have self-harmed in the past year, compared to 1 in 15 generally. (Stonewall: 2008) and finally LGB people are twice as likely as heterosexual people to have suicidal thoughts or to make suicide attempts. Also another shocking fact - Lesbian, Gay and Bisexuals people are two to three times more likely than heterosexual people to suffer from depression.
