• Stricter Responses for Racism in Football
I remember the day Italy beat England 3-2 on penalties , like it was yesterday not because of the loss , but because of the aftermath of Saka and Rashford’s terror. Anyone in that situation would have felt extremely endangered, let alone a nineteen year old (at the time). The whole nation watched this delinquency . How would you feel being attacked just because of the colour of your skin? Imagine you’re a football player and you’ve experienced racial abuse… how would you feel? What would you do? We want football clubs to have harsher restrictions so that football players feel comfortable and protected whilst playing for their teams. This is because no one should have to go through this as it can be a disempowering experience.I believe that football clubs should have first and second warnings to fans who are racists towards players. Their first warning should be a year ban and if they do this again they should get a life time ban as this is affecting players mental health. As a rule the FA has an anti-racism education pack produced by Show Racism the Red Card which aims to familiarise young people with the causes and consequences of racism as well as helping them to develop good relationships and respect the differences between people, regardless of ethnicity. Unfortunately this is ineffective as it is not a law to hate crime, however the Equalities Act of 2010 is supposed to protect people from experiencing racism and discrimination. We are lobbying Peter McCormick (Chairman of the FA) , in order for change to occur so that stricter measures are taken when racial incidents happen. Sign my petition if you want Peter McCormick to know that we all agree that we should have harsher restrictions.

  • Improved Recycling Provision
The way the law is structured means that you get up from £400 fines to £2,500 fines for littering. However, there are no laws forcing councils to put recycling bins on high roads. This means that the lack of law is forcing me to break the law. What type of hypocritical society is this? Other people should join for the movement of change and improvement of our local area in terms of litter. As a parent/carer/child, is this something you would want your family to go through? If not, please sign this petition to force Haringey council into putting more bins and help our cause of helping Wood Green become GREATly clean again! I walk through ‘Wood Green High Road’ everyday and I am having to dodge constant litter throwing at an alarming rate. This is not hygienic and could result in diseases spreading.

  • Improve Finsbury Gardens
This is a local park where all the locals go on the weekend to have a nice picnic while there child is playing football or playing in the playground. This is also very important to me because when I was growing up I went to this park everyday and I didn't feel safe especially when there where teenagers playing football. So I want to make this park a safe space so other kids can feel safe and enjoy there time at this park.

  • Barry Greens call for investment in Tidal Power Lagoons for a reliable and green energy future!
We believe this Conservative Government's refusal to not back tidal power lagoons has proven to be a costly mistake for the people of Wales. It makes their commitment to COP 26 both hollow and shameful! These projects would have produced cheap, locally sourced energy, created jobs in the community and made Wales a leader in green technology...we now call on Alun Cairns MP to carry out a U-turn and back clean and reliable green energy for the sake of people and the planet!

  • Twenty’s Plenty for Stockport
We need changes to make our roads safer and to make our communities more people friendly. Reducing speed limits to 20mph would help do this. When Portsmouth put 20mph limits across all residential roads, average speeds dropped by 7mph. Hull's 20mph zones reduced child pedestrian casualties by 74%. In July 2021, Stockport Council formally recognised the arguments in support of 20mph speed limits and agreed to 20mph for all its residential roads. The Council resolved to set up a working group to make this happen. Into October, and the cross-party group has not yet formed. We, the undersigned residents of Stockport, urge Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council to act on its agreement and implement a Borough-wide 20mph limit as a matter of urgency

  • INSTALL SOLAR PANELS ON NEW HOUSES
New electric vehicles and heat pumps are demanding more and more electrical generation. New electric vehicles and heat pumps are demanding more and more electrical generation. Solar panels on houses and businesses could provide this, but at this time new houses are not being fitted with them; there is no requirement. This is clearly a missed opportunity. Installing Solar panels during construction is clearly easier and cheaper than retrospectively. Electrical generation at the home where electric vehicles are charged and heat pumps are to be located avoids transmission losses and more power station generation. Once connected solar panels immediately combat climate change. So we ask that legislation or regulation be initiated without delay to install solar panels and storage batteries on all new housing. Action is needed by government to compel developers to install solar panels on new buildings. MPs have been contacted but no action has resulted. A concerted action by large numbers of people could result in a change of government policy. The need is urgent - the climate emergency demands action now.

  • Stop young adults with life changing disabilities having to go through work assessments
I think its deplorable that my son and many young adults with life limiting disabilities up and down the UK, are forced to go into job centres and sit and be degraded in front of strangers to prove they are incapable of getting a job. Before being entitled to claim any benefit money (which they have to wait 6/8wks for) the beginning is only a standard allowance with a doctors sick note, until a medical assessment is completed. These rules need to change for the better and generations to come that will no doubt have to endure the same spectacle. A letter from the young adults consultant should be the only form required to claim such benefits as we do for PIP.

  • Do not lower student repayment threshold
Ministers are reportedly planning to lower the salary level at which graduates start to repay their student loan to a salary of under £25,000, maybe as low as £20,000. During a time where young people have sacrificed so much from astronomical university fees only for an online education in addition to the increased tax rates that we will face for many years to come, this current proposal will hit the younger generation particularly hard and widen the gap further between the working class and the wealthy. At an already stretched time of job losses and high tax rates, lowering the threshold to such a low amount would be an injustice. Those who have been to university, are currently attending university or those who would like to go - this is yet another large bill you will have to foot ultimately reducing your ability (even further) to be able to one day own a home for yourself or your family.

  • Healthy start vouchers should be able to purchase milk alternatives not just cows milk
I feel we should be fighting for this change to be able to provide the right milk alternatives for children who are in low income families. And its important for their development just as much as cows milk. I am a single mother who has a child who needs milk alternatives in her diet due to having a milk allergy. I receive healthy start vouchers and these do not allow to buy milk alternatives with the vouchers i really think that they should be used to purchase milk alternatives as well as cows milk, fruit, veg and pulses. Milk alternatives are similar prices to cows milk but come in a 2 litre carton which lasts up to 3 days depending on how much a child drinks. When you are on a very low income it gets expensive and its essential your child has this as a source of nutrition. I would be grateful if you can take time to consider this as a change to healthy start vouchers as this is a must in so many young children's lives and many of these children are of low income families in receipt of these vouchers.

  • Pay Rise for care assistants
I am a care assistant. The problem that we are having is we have a very very hard job working in care homes - people don't realise how much work you have to do. And we're on such a basic wage. My daughter makes beds at Travelodge and they are on 11.00 an hour. I don't understand how that can be right. Nurses think they have a hard job but they get paid well. Us care assistants are only on a basic wage. Which I think is appalling

  • Reinstate the Triple Lock for Pensions
People power matters. We have a duty to protect our pensioners from being unable to support themselves financially whilst on state pension. Our state pension is one of the lowest in the Western World and this cannot be right.

  • Light up or Lock up
I am finding it increasingly heart breaking to hear about the amount of attacks and assaults happening in dimly lit or dark areas, mostly community parks. Aside from assaults happening in a persons own home or partners home, Assaults In a park/other open public place comes third. I believe that we could eradicate the risk of these attacks by lighting up these areas and/or locking up. I am aware that both comes with a cost and budget restraints hinder this however, the cost of a life is much more valuable. Not only are many parks not lit up they fail to have basic CCTV in many of the areas, I believe that although this will not stop perpetrators it may deter them or at the very worst supply victims with evidence against the perpetrator The recent heart breaking story of Sabina Nessa, only brings to light the fact that many Parks and recreational areas are goldmines for perpetrators to commit heinous crimes. How is it that in the twenty first century we have so much technology and knowledge however we can not make simple changes to reduce the chance of these type of attacks happening. We apparently live in a "Big Brother" culture, so how is it when these types of crimes happen, mostly around dark parks that little to no CCTV footage is ever found? I am aware that the lighting or locking up of these areas can not fully stop attacks and assaults from happening however surely this action could potentially help to reduce the risk? I do think that it is very poor in this day and age of technology that these assaults are going under the radar.
