Integrate Health and Social Care Now.The costs to the NHS are crippling. A & E departments are struggling to cope because the elderly are becoming unwell for want of adequate social care provision and are being forced to attend hospitals where, once admitted, they are likely to occupy specialist beds that they do not need, because there is nothing else available in the community. All old people deserve much better treatment than is currently available in Britain. As a country we spend less on health per capita than do most advanced economies. We are a wealthy nation but our disgraceful provision for the elderly is more like that experienced in a third world country.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Wood

Save Bolsover HospitalThis hospital has been slowly 'run down' by the closure of two wards and now the CCG want to completely close it. This is part of a review of services provided in North Derbyshire which include the closure of other community hospitals. This review is titled '' Better Care Closer To Home'' , however many of us do not believe that the planned changes will work and that patients will receive a poorer service. The plans have been put to public consultation HOWEVER the CCG have NOT notified all households to publicise this as promised , hence many do not know of the proposed changes which include providing care in nursing homes and the patients own home. Meaning family will be involved in the care role, rather than a community hospital following discharge from the Royal Hospital. This hospital provides a service to Chesterfield residents ( not just those of Bolsover) so the result of the closures will be felt by many. More information can be found at : http://www.joinedupcare.org.uk Thank you for your interest.648 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Angela Blair

Save Kingston University Foundation1) Penrhyn Road is a grey, uninspiring university campus compared to Knights Park. The art school would not and cannot blend here. 2) All of the visual arts subjects are based at Knights Park for a reason, the workshops, from photography to print, from 3D to the Digital Media Workshop (DMW), you can find all of it at Knights Park. As a foundation student last year, it took me 3 months to find where Penrhyn Road was. How will foundation students at Penrhyn find their way to us 3) Because of all the visual arts courses being based at Knights Park, there is a strong community of artists and creatives, and the social life at the student union bar, as well as the artistic space of the workshop and DMW last year enabled me to make many friends on other courses who I am still in contact with this year. These lasting relationships would not happen at Penrhyn. 4) The teaching team on the foundation course at Kingston University is immensely talented and vivacious, and there is an equally talented team in each of the departments they serve. Why separate this team from the other creative staff at the university, and why jeopardise this extremely committed team into leaving?975 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Eliot Lord

New visa rules urgently required for foreign students studying in the UKExtrapolating figures drawn from the Office of National Statistics for 2017, foreign students studying in the UK would have brought in £28B in revenue if, on heavily flawed research, the Prime Minister (whilst Home Secretary) hadn't withdrawn tens of thousands of student visas. Often the brightest and the best apply to study in the UK - their research; remains and belongs to UK Institutions after they return home! This R&D makes the UK one of the most innovative countries in the World! £28B per year and free leading edge research; please review the visa requirements for foreign students studying in the UK. Then there is the human factor - impoverished villages around the Globe sell everything they have just to get one child a UK education, in the hope that on their return, now with much improved job prospects, they can financially support the entire village. It is these students that were hurt most when they were deported, without compensation, merely through a hurried and thoughtless visa change.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Buchan

Bring Back Vital Support and Assistance Phone Lines For The VulnerableKent Support and Assistance as it was called (KSAS), a Government Scheme funded £2.8 million pound in its first year and millions since, has just recently had removal the information of its phone service with the web page edited slightly to remove the multi million scheme's name too. You can only find information on the scheme by typing 'help in a crisis' or something similar into the KCC search bar with it's new name 'Home essentials in a Crisis'. The page has its header name changed and their number removed but is other wise the same. This seems to also be the case with other essential council services whereby you have to report/claim for help online not taking into consideration the vulnerable and those without internet access or the know how to use this method, the only choice given. This is something us a non funded organisation fill the faps with as they refer clients to us when turning people down for help was not informed of, nor any other sign posting agency we lisise with. We are already seeing the rise in cases coming to us before this at our Thanet 7 day Food Bank, non funded and run by community, something we have had to take the demand for with errors to this KCC service since it began in Spring 2013 following the abolishment of the DWP's social fund's Crisis Loans and Community Care Grants. As an organisation, we have previously fought to get waiting times down in their first year which was proven to be productive after being asked to meet with the scheme's commissioner when we swapped figures on how many people Kent County Council were helping in Thanet compared to our non funded 7 day food bank. The figures were shocking Our concerns were acted on after myself and vice chairman Robin were asked to meet the commisioner of the scheme and his colleague who travelled to meet us from Maidstone after we voiced our growing concerns through several channels Waiting times were at least 14 days often longer for a decision on helping with emergency food, gas and electric, by which time their situations had largely started to sort themselves but claimants were still receiving food and fuel from KSAS after we had supported them through their hardships within 24 hours which even the clients acknowledged to be a waste of the council money. The commissioner, Hugh Martyn listened to what we provide non funded and he called me the 'Gap Filler', he asked what we see as the need here in Thanet and was quick to act with waiting time reduced to a matter of days rather than weeks within weeks. This was funded £2.8 million pound in the spring of 2013 with further millions in funding year on year following from Central Government to provide a service to the people in need from Maidstone to the whole of Kent. Right now, the people of Kent are being let down hugely yet again. We will be gathering more figures and FOI's into exactly how many services have had their phone contact service removed. **If you would like to get involved or would like to share your story, please send us an email to [email protected] or [email protected] Kerry Keating and Robin Vaughan Lyons17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kerry Keating People in Need

Save Art History being cut from the A Level curriculumThe exam board AQA have decided to discontinue offering Art History as a subject at AS and A Level from 2018. This is detrimental to students, teachers and the cultural future of this country. Art History is not a 'soft subject'. It encourages an interdisciplinary view of the world, the chance to delve into different civilisations and time periods and gives students the tools to think critically about how art and architecture are part of human experience. By cutting access to the study of Art History before university, fewer prospective students will think about enrolling for such a minority subject. Over time this will lead to a dearth of expertise and interest in the visual arts and heritage, vital for continuing to protect and promote the UK's rich cultural history. There is almost unanimous support from students, teachers, parents, art historians and museum professionals to keep Art History alive in our schools and colleges. Please think about signing this petition to give sixth-formers the chance to participate in this fundamental and enriching subject.18,704 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Nerissa Taysom

Help us welcome Syrian refugees and asylum seekers into DorsetMore than 250,000 Syrians have lost their lives in four-and-a-half years of armed conflict, and more than 11 million others have been forced from their homes as forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule battle each other. More than 4.5 million people have fled Syria since the start of the conflict, most of them women and children. Neighbouring Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey have struggled to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history. Only 10% of Syrian refugees have sought safety in Europe, sowing political divisions as countries argue over sharing the so-called burden. Despite this, the county of Dorset has only agreed to resettling 6 families, a shockingly small amount in light of the recent crisis. The county council is coordinating the response from agencies in our area, however no concrete decisions have yet been made. We therefore urge you to sign this petition and increase pressure on the Dorset council to make a positive contribution to the improvement of the accommodation and treatment of Syrian refugees and asylum seekers.180 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Natasha Linhart

Specsavers - Stop Advertising in the Daily ExpressAnti-immigrant hate crime in the UK has increased fivefold over the past few months (according to the National Police Chiefs' Council). The UK media has, in the words of the United Nations human rights chief, peddled "sustained and unrestrained anti-foreigner abuse" and "vilification, intolerance and politicization of migrants." Migrants are routinely portrayed as less-than-human, and unworthy of dignity and respect. The Daily Express alone is responsible for headlines such as "BRITAIN MUST BAN MIGRANTS" and " SEND IN ARMY TO HALT MIGRANT INVASION." Specsavers: is this your vision? We are calling on you to take a stand, and no longer tacitly endorse the demonisation of migrant communities by the Daily Express. Just earlier this year, the newspaper was forced to publish a correction after press watchdog IPSO ruled that a piece entitled 'Europe's leaders have no plan to cut immigration' inflated and distorted migration figures. The impact of this kind of media rhetoric is not limited to the newspaper stands: it has real-life, divisive consequences. By withdrawing a recent front-page advert from the Daily Express, you have recognised that what your brand appears alongside, matters. We call on you to take this further and withdraw all financial and symbolic support for a newspaper that is notorious for inciting racism, Islamophobia and xenophobia.1,324 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Undoing Borders (People & Planet)

Sweatshop Free Campaign SheffieldElectronics Watch is 'an independent monitoring organisation that assists public sector buyers to meet their responsibility to protect the labour rights of workers in their global electronics supply chains more effectively and less expensively than any single public sector buyer could accomplish on its own'. People & Planet Sheffield believe that the electronic equipment that we all make use of in university and around the world should be sourced and manufactured without the use of slave labour and sweatshops and affiliating to Electronics Watch gives the University of Sheffield a great chance of being a leader in this change.180 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Vaughan Fleming

University should be freePeople in lower middle class cant afford can't afford it without taking out loans. When taking out a student loan you only pay it off for 30 years if you are working in the UK so a lot of loans are written of anyway so they should be a reasonable price that most people can afford.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Natasha Longshaw

Save Clay Cross HospitalThis hospital was built several years ago to support the local area, the building hosts all types of day clinics etc. One ward has been closed for a long time, and now the trust are looking to close down the other ward. In the past people have been discharged from the main hospital to here, one step closer to home. Its been well looked after and is very modern inside, plenty of free parking. The nearest Hospital is Calow which is 2 bus rides away, so it is vital to keep this hospital open for local people. You can read about the plans for better care closer to home at the following link http://www.joinedupcare.org.uk Please support the staff and nurses to keep their jobs, and the hospital open ! My question are we going back in time?1,041 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by KL Rouse

Scrap the bedroom tax for all disabled householdsFamilies where the spouse of a disabled adult are already on an extremely low income so having to pay the bedroom tax, which carers for children where for example one parent may be earning an adequate wage are already exempted from, is not only discriminatory, it leads to further financial pressure on top of the stress of being a carer.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Allan Aspinall
