Remove plastic packaging from supermarket fruit and vegPotatoes, apples, bananas, carrots and onions are the top five most wasted fruit & veg products in UK households. Over a one-year period, it is estimated that selling these five items loose (unpackaged) would: – Prevent an estimated 1.7 billion pieces of plastic packaging from being thrown away – Avoid over 77,000 tonnes of food waste by allowing people to buy the exact amount they need – Save shoppers a combined total of over £85m in uneaten food Removing plastic packaging from these five fruit & veg products is not only a simple, effective and proven way to reduce the effects of the plastic problem, but it can also cut food waste and save us money. Right now, the industry still argues that plastic packaging protects our food in transit, extends freshness, prevents spoilage and reduces waste. Something isn’t adding up… France has already banned 30 fruits and vegetables from being wrapped in plastic packaging. This year, Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg will join them. It’s time for the UK to do the same. Potatoes, apples, bananas, carrots and onions are often available loose in supermarkets alongside their packaged counterparts. We want them loose, and only loose. Add your name today and call on supermarkets to increase the availability and affordability of packaging-free fruit & veg so that all of us can #ChooseLoose. Hythe Skate Park - New RampsHythe skate park isn't leaner friendly. This puts a lot of people off riding for the first time and them missing out on so much. The friendships you make. The reward you from learning new tricks while you ride. These 3 new simple ramps would be perfect for people starting out as well as experienced riders. I teach skateboarding and live I in Hythe. I travel to other skateparks like Deal, and F51 to teach because it’s difficult to learn at Hythe. The lips on each quarter pipe that are already there are in serious need of resurfacing. Also the ramps are big, that’s not a bad thing. We just want to add some smaller ramps to encourage new riders and support the local community that’s already there.372 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jammer Skates

NHS to make demand upon BOE for fundingThe Governor of the Bank of England has an obligation to ensure the supply of money is there for when it’s actually needed! Neither the NHS or the BOE is intended as political, it should be therefor without any sort of need of justification from politicians possible for the NHS Managers at law to seek cash for whatever the NHS needs are, According to the constitution; it should be common consideration that the NHS Managers are form of working Peers (like an olde Barons committee) and they are with constitutional powers that do not require Downing Streets oversight, And as far as law is concerned it is lawful for the NHS Managers to draft the lawful notices / demands to the BOE to fulfil in good conscience, without delay and in accordance with the constitution to maintain the peace of the realm, to ensure the law (including sealed peace treaties such as from perhaps as far back as 1215) is upheld and so people can be treated as necessary and to ensure good health in their body or mind, and so that no man, woman or child shall be in effect done a tort/neglect by an inept or incompetent government-in-disarray which seemingly has lost its head at sea; and so us simple folk who are grounded in truth, here in Britain; England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or the United Kingdom don’t consider it a necessary lawful prerequisite in accordance with the constitution for the NHS managers to go to say a Treasury Minister or Health Minister… in-fact; we consider it is a repugnant behaviour for NHS managers to not go directly to the Bank of England, and this declaration shall be used by NHS managers as an empowerment for them, we do not consent to any Treasury MINISTER or any-one else to attempt to with-hold funds or to have a monopoly and to then be able to use that monopoly to inflict unjustified punish upon the people by politicising whatever reason they have not to save a child, to treat the wounds physical or psychological of people in good time, free at the point of need, By signing / giving your assent to this declaration; you make known with sincerity and in a solemn way that you consider it is truthful and appropriate, and not something repugnant (political) for NHS Managers to write to the BOE directly to extract necessary funds & You also make it knowing that as far as creditor of the system; you uphold your right as creditor & as beneficiary to grant the NHS Managers/NHS Trusts to go directly to the Bank of England, that you give “consent of the governed” to put aside any potential Government political (and cruel) agenda, for the sake of the crown and country, but more importantly to please the Almighty the most merciful the most beneficent and you declare solemnly so you will let no man or thing do anything to frustrate your lawful will & that you swear any-one who neglects the issue of adequate funding of the NHS is a tyrant and doesn’t represent the will of the people and is devoid of consent of the governed and that anyone else who does not work towards ensuring the funding of the National Health Service is either a victim, incapable or a criminal, and if a criminal that someone who is breaching our peace and who has to be held accountable under the law and even if He were a Minister or Governor or President or whatever… He/She/They should be held accountable, You voluntarily without compulsion make your sincere will made known in this open forum now and forever and that you pray by the Almighty that sense is restored; that equity is upheld and that people are not dying needlessly or waiting weeks, months, years to be healed, to have illnesses or concerns considered you hereby seal/sign by the Almighty as your witness this declaration and command/demand that all relevant whatever positions be put on notice and to fulfil the will so help us Almighty,6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Monawer Farooq

36 Seconds to Save Lives: 40 mph for Westonzoyland RoadThere are two main reasons behind this campaign: First, that of safety. Anyone who uses this road regularly knows how dangerous it is: collisions occur all too frequently, many of which result in death or life-changing injuries. “Reducing the speed from 60 mph to 40 mph reduces the probability of fatality in the event of an accident by 40 percent.” (https://www.mildenhall.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/949200/40-is-the-new-60-slow-down-stay-safe/) Second, that of the climate crisis: reducing the speed limit here would result in reduced emissions, and greater uptake of active travel (walking & cycling). The current situation on Westonzoyland Road presents an unacceptable safety risk. Driving at 40 instead of 60 mph over this short two-mile stretch would theoretically add one minute to a journey. In reality, though, no-one drives at 60 all the way - it’s usually around 50, which makes a difference of just 36 seconds. All other routes in and out of Bridgwater are safer because they are slower and wider. Lower speed limits encourage better driving, and more space allows for safer overtaking. Quantock Road (A39): 40 mph until Sandford Hill / New Road roundabout, where segregated cycle path begins. Taunton Road (A38): 40 mph from Showground Road to North Petherton, plus segregated bike route. Bath Road (A39): 40 mph from motorway bridge to Bawdrip. Bristol Road (A38): 50 mph from Ascot Drive to Dunball, dual carriageway plus segregated cycle route. Westonzoyland Road (A372): 60 mph, no off-road cycle lanes Westonzoyland Road is the outlier: it is a dangerous road as it is narrow and bendy with blind junctions, has very deep ditches and is still subject to the historical 60 mph national speed limit. The speed limit is the only realistic option that can be changed to make it safer. Many more drivers have died on this stretch than cyclists. Driver-only crashes outnumber those involving cyclists by at least 7 to 1 (but the same ratio would be a fair assumption). Benefits to all road users include: Safer driving means lower costs: less fuel, cheaper insurance. Driving at a reduced speed is better for the environment. Less traffic disruption: road closures are all too frequent an event which makes driving faster a false economy. Safer for active travel - drivers forced to drive but would like to occasionally cycle but can't because the road is too dangerous at 60mph. People who live in Cannington, Woolavington, Puriton and North Petherton can all access Bridgwater by active travel (on foot or by bicycle) with relative safety. Westonzoyland residents, however, cannot. People are put off walking or cycling this road because it is too dangerous, so they end up driving instead. The A372 is currently used only by a brave few walkers and cyclists as a commuting route. With improved safety, it has the potential to carry many more. This is important as we try to shift Bridgwater towards active travel. National Cycle Network route 3 crosses the A372 from Rugg’s Drove to River Lane. The situation is a major safety concern for Sustrans (who have responsibility for the NCN). The ultimate long-term goal is a segregated active travel route between Westonzoyland and Bridgwater, but this will take years to be realised, while lives continue to be put at risk. Reducing the speed limit is a quick and effective way to improve the safety of the route for everyone.1,052 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Colin Gummer

Fix the Warm Home Discount scam. Many tens of thousands of disabled and vulnerable people will be surprised to find they no longer qualify for the Warm Home Discount. And this year, even with the fuel discount schemes in place, those affected are paying more than double the 2021 prices used to form the new WHD rules. The change has not been advertised, and the WHD rules are unclear. The public have been misinformed and led to believe the Government is protecting the most vulnerable from fuel poverty. The reality is not widely known, and unless changed, tens of thousands of lives will be significantly worse off.38 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Russell Thompson

LOWER THE AGE FOR WOMEN TO HAVE A SMEAR TEST!I have recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 30. It was picked up on a smear test, I was very fortunate to be able to have an operation that has hopefully cured me (only time will tell). The age for smear tests is 25, yet the reason women get cervical cancer is due to the HPV virus that is in essence an STI (sexually transmitted infection). It starts as pre cancerous before it turns to cancer and there's not enough evidence to suggest that it takes 5 years to change from one to the other as that wasn't the case for me as i had a colposcopy in 2017, two biopsies and it came back clear. I was refused a smear in 2020 due to covid, yet I probably wouldn't have been in this situation had I have had one then. More and more younger girls are becoming sexually active. They are unknowing to whether they carry the virus or whether they have changes to their cells due to the fact they cannot have a smear because they are too young. I've met women that have had the vaccination and have still ended up with high risk HPV and changes to their cervix. Nothing is one hundred percent. Girls younger than 25 are dying or being diagnosed with cervical cancer because they haven't had the option of a smear test. Women are having babies earlier which also changes the cells in the cervix so smears should also be offered after having a baby. Something really needs to change. When I had my diagnosis I was told there's more and more women younger and of my own age that are in similar or the same situations as me. Everyone I've spoken with has agreed the age needs lowering. I have no idea where to start to but I'll try anything to try and get somewhere. I don't want anyone to go through what I have been through. I've been lucky enough to have children, but there's girls/women out there that may want a family some day and will lose that option due to the fact smears are not available to them all due to their age, plus taking into account having to potentially go through the menopause a lot earlier than the average age a woman goes through menopause and mental health that all comes with it. Please let's finally take this seriously. Let's think of the younger and older generation. Let's save lives. We need to change the age of smears, we need it lowering to stop so many cases of cervical cancer in younger women. Consider the ages of sexually active women/girls. The implications of not having a smear and having pre cancerous/cancerous changes go undetected. Women that miss out on having families, women going through early menopause, women dying. It's about time that it's looked at as an importance. Too many years have passed and it's spoken of but nothing ever gets done. Please let's make a change together to save lives.617 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Danielle Saunders

We need an inquiry into the costs of refurbishing Bristol Beacon2016: At its first Cabinet meeting after coming to power, the current administration authorised a £1.6m investment in Colston Hall Phase II to enable the preparation and submission of a detailed planning application. 2017: A Cabinet paper was tabled indicating a refurbishment budget of £48.8m 2018: A Cabinet paper delegated authority to officers to appoint the contractor(s) for the redevelopment work, subject to development of the RIBA work packages ensuring that renovation works remained within the total maximum project envelope of £48.8m. This figure was subsequently revised upwards to £52.4m, with the additional amount being met by an increased contribution from the West of England combined authority. 2021: A revised total capital investment budget was set at £106.9m 2022: A Cabinet paper stated the costs had risen to £131.9m. However, a due diligence report indicated costs may increase further and completion could be delayed. Grant Thornton, the external auditor, have said that Bristol City Council "underestimated the complexity and difficulty" of the work and failed to have "effective arrangements" in place. Grant Thornton have since identified managing the risks associated with the Bristol Beacon as a significant Value For Money weakness. An independent review is needed covering the period from 2016, when the current administration authorised funds for the preparation and submission of a detailed planning application, through the various stages at which costs to the Council have escalated, to (hopefully) the completion of the project. It is important that lessons are learned and recommendations made for drafting, monitoring and implementing future contracts. Make dishonest Will executors more accountableMy family's lives have been turned upside-down over the past 12 months after we lost my sister at a relatively young age. Our grief has been exasperated by the person she trusted and chose to be the executor of her estate. Unfortunately this person did not follow her wishes and tried to pocket all monies for their own financial gain. My nephew has been in a legal battle since his Mum's funeral with the person who he thought was a 'father-figure' to him, but has showed him nothing but contempt and disrespect over these past months. We do not want this to happen to another family, so the Probate Laws need to change to stop this type of fraud and work against dishonest and disloyal people.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kim Wilkinson

A message of support from the British publicWe all know that picket lines aren't where any teacher wants to be. They want to be in classrooms, teaching our children. But teachers’ pay is falling way behind inflation, school buildings across the country are crumbling, the numbers of qualified teachers is falling, and some teachers are suffering from burnout and leaving the profession in droves. They have no other option. We know teachers across the country haven’t taken this decision lightly. They aren’t to blame for the crisis in education, the Government has caused this mess. And the Government are the only ones who can sort this out. If enough of us throw our weight behind a huge open letter, together we can show that parents, grandparents - all of us - are on the side of teachers. It could be enough to make the Education Secretary, the Chancellor and the Prime Minister get round the table and give teachers the pay deal they deserve, and get the strikes called off.53,725 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Veronica Hawking

Stop Westminster from blocking Scotland's Trans rights legislationLGBTQ+ people have suffered unfair discrimination as long as I can remember, it's time for change. Scotland are ahead of the curve on this, especially when it comes to Trans rights legislation. Not only should Westminster stop trying to block Scotland's new legislation on this topic but actually follow their lead. LGBTQ+ people suffer abuse and intolerance every day, it's damaging to their mental health and general wellbeing. The more the government accepts this the less drain it will be on the NHS and the economy in general.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chris Allman

Save our nursery! Stop Kent County Council's closure of Explorers Nursery site in RamsgateClosing the nursery and children’s centre site on Cannon Rd will: – Force out the popular Explorers Nursery – Deprive over 50 local children of a quality early education – Cut affordable childcare for 28 working parents, who could in turn lose their jobs – Slash 6 nursery places for the lowest-income families – Disrupt crucial support services for vulnerable families such as mother and baby healthcare, and adult education & training. As the nursery manager, I know what a vital service our Explorers team and the children’s centre provide for the whole community. We help families from all backgrounds with children from some of the least-advantaged areas of Ramsgate, as well as supporting working parents too. It’s hard to overstate the importance of early education in giving children the best life chances possible and their parents the time they need to work. Parents always tell me how proud they are of the nursery and what a relief it is to find quality childcare nearby. There is already a serious shortfall of nursery places in Ramsgate – and especially for the hardest-hit families, according to KCC’s own figures. If KCC goes ahead with its plans to shut the children’s centre, it will be a double loss for local families: one, we will have to close the nursery and two, they will lose the wider services of the centre, such as an on-site health visitor. That’s why we’re calling on Roger Gough, Leader of Kent County Council, Rory Love, KCC Member for Education and Skills and all the KCC councillors to re-think these plans in the light of these devastating impacts. I hope you will help us and add your name to the petition before KCC's plans are set to be finalised at the end of March. Thank you so much for your support! It means the world to my team and all the families we work with. Clair Jones, Explorers Nursery Manager PS.
