The 60+ Smartpass which allows free public transport in Northern Ireland for the over 60’s is vital for many to live their lives with independence. But right now, the Department for Infrastructure is thinking about scrapping them. Free public transport means people are able to socialise, meet their family and take part in society with fewer obstacles. In a cost of living crisis, it's vital that people over 60 in Northern Ireland retain this support.

Taxpayers have subsidised £13m worth of private school fees. This is because of a Foreign Office perk that allows diplomats to claim back UK boarding school fees. During a cost of living crisis, these kinds of perks are shocking. With the Government failing to tackle NHS waiting lists and train strikes, why can’t diplomats send their children to state schools or pay for private schools themselves? Rishi Sunak needs to win back public favour for his Government and tackle the issues we’re all facing. A massive petition telling them to stop spending our taxes on perks and use the £13m for our NHS and other public services instead could convince them to scrap this policy.

Right now, users on TikTok, have harmful content promoted to them including videos related to self-harm and eating disorders. This is because the technology which decides what videos to show is designed to keep people hooked and people have no say in what they want to see. The EU has recently cracked down on TikTok, which means users will now be able to opt out from seeing personalised and potentially dangerous content if they wish. But Tiktok has said it has no plans to make the same option available to users in the UK leaving users, including children, across the country at risk of seeing addictive and inappropriate content. A huge petition to TikTok urging them to flick the switch and turn on this feature in the UK could be enough to convince them to do the right thing.

We are already in a national mental health crisis. The NHS is buckling under the strain of people needing urgent help - waiting lists are long and exhaustive-the support and guidance is simply not there - leaving many feeling isolated, alone and in suffering. The growth in women's football in recent years has been astonishing. Rachel Daly and her fellow Lionesses have done a huge amount to drive this forward, setting an example of what dedication and team work can achieve. There is no more prestigious match in football than a World Cup final. Now that Rachel has reached it, she should be recognised for all she has done.

England are football world champions for the first time since 1966 - an incredible achievement and one that deserves proper recognition. Over the last few weeks, the team has united the country with their passion, talent and teamwork - inspiring a generation of girls to grab a football and get involved. Manager Sarina Wiegman is already being lined up for a Damehood but football is a team game: the players deserve OBEs too!

England haven't reached a World Cup final since 1966 - in 2023, the Lionesses broke this streak by storming into the final in Australia. Lucy Bronze and her teammates have inspired the whole country, and shown young girls there's a place for them on the national sporting stage. Northumberland has form for celebrating its World Cup heroes - a statue of Jack Charlton has recently been unveiled in Ashington. Let's show our love and support for women's football by giving Lucy Bronze the same honour in Alnwick, and show how much things have changed for women's sport since the days when Lucy had to travel to Blyth to find a girl's football team to play at because Alnwick had no team for her.

Equal pay at this top tier is an essential material and symbolic step towards gender equality. Lionesses manager Sarina Wiegman has won the Euros with England and will lead them into Sunday’s World Cup final against Spain. She guided the Netherlands to victory at the Euros in 2017 before taking them to the World Cup final in 2019. The men's England football manager Gareth Southgate led England to the 2018 World Cup semi-final in Russia, the quarter-finals of Qatar 2022 and the Euro 2020 final, but has yet to win a trophy with England. Southgate is reportedly paid £5m a year, a significant uplift on Wiegman’s supposed £400,000 salary. An FA representative stated “If we take money from one area it then has to come off another,” he said. “I can’t tell you the list of great ideas we get every week for things, some of which are in women’s football, some are in para football, some of which are men’s football, some of which could be building more pitches for kids." The FA should take this essential material and symbolic step towards gender equality, by taking the money to pay Wiegman equally from Southgate's salary. This would leave each manager with roughly £2.7m a year salary plus bonuses. Wiegman and the Lionesses represent the frontline of excellence in women's sport, and sport as a whole. Wiegman is the more successful manager. At least she deserves pay parity with the men's.

We want to lower the prices of petrol across Barnsley. The country is in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, and Barnsley residents are some of the hardest-hit. By signing the petition, we hope those responsible will finally take notice.

By getting to the World Cup Final, Sarina Wiegman's team have achieved more than any England national football team has in over 57 years. Going one step further would be a generational achievement, and deserve national recognition. Special bank holidays have been instigated for occasions like royal weddings, jubilees, and the turn of the millennium. Winning the World Cup arguably surpasses these in terms of national importance. Taking a bank holiday would give the nation time to come together to acknowledge a fantastic team, celebrate inspirational role models, and give an economic boost to the country (especially if Nike takes this opportunity to produce Mary Earps' keeper kit). We need to show Rishi Sunak and the rest of the UK Government that the Lionesses deserve such a celebration to mark something truly monumental. The team set excellent examples for young girls and boys, and encourage everyone to get out there kicking balls around. Having an extra bank holiday would give you, your family and friends the opportunity to play together. You might even discover one of you is the next Millie Bright, Alessia Russo, or Lauren James!
