The traffic lights at Duke Street/Bernard Street/Talbot Street urgently need pedestrian signals. This has been a problem for many years. During rush hour there is no safe time to cross the road as there is always a stream of traffic coming from one direction or the other and the configuration of the roads makes it very difficult for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers to view the traffic from every direction. We need to encourage more active travel in the city, enabling people to walk and cycle more. But this junction is so dangerous it puts people off walking, especially if they are not able to move quickly. It endangers commuters walking or going by bike into town in the mornings and out again at night. And families, young people and children travel to and from school each day. Car drivers are also at risk at this difficult and dangerous junction from trying to dodge people crossing. So they would also find appropriate safety road measures to their advantage. Newark is a wonderful place, rich in history. It was originally a medieval walled town with the river making it strategic in the Midlands. Many historic buildings and sites remain to remind us of our heritage. Many have been lost or are in danger. The Lilley and Stone site is one of these. The trustees want to sell the site for a housing development. We believe that there are better solutions for the people of Newark which would increase the cultural standing and heritage value of the town. We want to maintain the best quality of life for residents, as well as build a future legacy for our children and the next generation.

Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK where an opt-out system for organ donation is not yet in place. This law has passed through the NI Assembly and been given Royal Assent, but is now delayed on a technicality because of the stalemate at Stormont. This law would give people like 6 year old Dáithí MacGabhann a better chance of a life-saving transplant. That's why people from all corners of the UK are demanding that the Secretary of State uses his powers to put this law in place now.

Installing fixed speed cameras on Bridgeman Street and Higher Swan Lane that can actually catch those who are driving dangerously is important given how common this unacceptable behaviour has become. This road is busy with high footfall of pedestrians, many of whom are children. There is also heavy traffic of school runs. Drivers on the road are responsible for driving safely. Unfortunately, a minority have made Bridgeman Street and Higher Swan Lane a dangerous place to cross and drive on. We need your support. Residents on Bridgeman Street have complained about the growing problem of dangerous drivers speeding both directions on Bridgeman Street and Higher Swan Lane. Drivers speed down Higher Swan Lane and lose control as they go around the bend into Bridgeman Street causing horrific accidents over the years. The same is true for cars dangerously speeding up Bridgeman Street on the opposite direction towards Higher Swan Lane. The speeding cars too often crash into parked cars near the bend. A resident, who has lived in the locality for four years, has his car severely damaged four times. Many residents do not even feel safe in their own houses, because, they said, if there were no cars parked outside, speeding cars could crash into the front of their houses. This area is busy with pedestrians of all ages, as it is a location for a mosque, a church, and schools, as well as many shops and takeaways. The council has agreed to repairs some existing speed bumps and install speed monitoring cameras, but these measures are not enough to tackle this problem. We need your urgent support with this petition to make sure Transport for Greater Manchester listens to our plea to put fixed speed cameras on Bridgeman Street and Higher Swan Lane near the bend that connects both streets. By doing this, we are making the road safer for our community, particularly our children and the elderly. Our Local Labour Team, including myself, Cllr Abdul Atcha, and Mr Ismail Ibrahim have supported the cause and are working with the local community to ensure Bridgeman Street and Higher Swan Lane become a safe place to live. The safety of residents and drivers who use this stretch of road should be a top priority for everyone given the increase in roads linking into Shireoaks Common.

Having speed cameras on Halliwell road is important particularly when we have the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We have school runs, lunch times as well as the commutes to and from work. As drivers on the road, we are responsible for driving safely. Unfortunately, a minority have made Halliwell Road a dangerous place to cross. Even though we have traffic lights and zebra crossings, it just isn't enough! We need to implement speed cameras to keep the community safe and to catch those who are driving dangerously.

The Lothian bus open door day has been a huge part of bus enthusiasts like myself across Edinburgh and further afield. It is also an opportunity for the wider Edinburgh community to be part of there bus services and learn more about sustainable travel and electric buses. It was such a fun day out, with the bus wash being a highlight of the trip. My family even used the bus wheels as a measurement for my height each year. It is very much missed and I ask Lothian Buses to reinstate it for 2023 and beyond. Let’s show Lothian buses how much we miss this valuable community event and show support for our drivers and how much we appreciate our local transport networks

This plan will cause significant temporary, permanent and ongoing harm from the HGVs enabled to use this inappropriate route and offers no benefit to, and will damage, Britain's Tourist sector, local social, culture* economy and environment** and will negate years of careful conservation and irreparably reduce the contribution of Finchingfield to the National, Regional and local heritage environment and unique character of this area. *the proposed works will prevent Finchingfeild residents using their village green for the Coronation celebrations in May. **otters have been filmed in the pond adjacent to the bridge.

We, the concerned residents and parents of students at Outwood Academy Valley, call for Nottinghamshire County Council to locate a pedestrian crossing on Carlton Road between Ashley Road and Carlton Avenue, Worksop to enable students from the school to cross safely when going to and from school. The safety of our children and young people should be everyone's responsibility.

In 1913, Barry Docks was the largest coal exporting port in the world but today the Docks waterfront is looking to transform into a place where the community can enjoy and to create a better more environmentally friendly future. The funding would have gone towards developing a new water sports facility at Barry Waterfront and a new marina at the site known as the mole. The bid for funding was a strong one and we are determined to do what we can to ensure it succeeds in the next funding round.

The dog rescue sector is already facing a major crisis. Following an explosion of dog ownership during Covid, the return to ‘normality’ has seen a huge increase in the number of dogs coming into the rescue system - with not enough space for them all. It means so many dogs that could go on to have happy lives in new homes don’t get the chance, and instead are being euthanised. And there's an even bigger crisis looming. Dog rescues need to have insurance cover to operate, but over the past few months more and more insurers have either withdrawn cover for rescues completely - including for long-standing rescue customers - and others have increased their premiums to an unaffordable level or put in restrictions that are unworkable for small charity rescues. If this trend continues, many smaller rescues will be forced to close leaving even more, healthy, well-adjusted, dogs with no-where to go. As a nation of dog lovers, do we really want to see mass scale euthanisation of dogs because of a set of ‘perfect storm’ factors driven by Covid? The approach being taken by insurers doesn’t penalise those that caused the problems, it just puts dogs and those that work responsibly to save them at risk. Instead of a knee-jerk withdrawal, the insurance industry should work with responsible rescues to promote good practices, ensuring future risk is sensibly managed. Without this the current crisis in the dog world will only get worse.
