• Refundable Glass Bottles
This will benefit the environment by reducing the energy requirements of recycling. Reduce the burden on local authorities to collect and sort this type of recycling. Donation and collection of bottles could help local fund raising activities. Other Countries including the USA have such a system, in fact it was common in the UK up the end of the 1960's.

  • SAVE BECKENHAM PLACE PARK GOLF COURSE
This golf course has been open for over 100 years. I and many residents have been using this golf course for over 40 years. It is a place much loved for it's idealistic beautiful views and the wildlife that live there, It is a place of peace and tranquillity and it is enjoyed by all different age groups and families, where small children enjoy feeding the squirrels and enjoying the nature that this beautiful. place has to offer. There are also listed buildings that hold alot of history. People of all ages can enjoy not only the views but can also enjoy a refreshing drink and tasty food in the cafe run by very welcoming staff. Please lets stop Lewisham Council from closing this beautiful open space where us people enjoy going to either play a game of golf or just enjoy walks or taking our children there, or just to have some peace in such tranquil surroundings

  • Every home owner must make a will
When someone dies without making a will, it can cause confusion, bitter disputes and bereaved families being left financially insecure. Currently only 3 in 10 people have a will. People often don't want to make a will as they don't want to think about dying or they just don't get round to it. If the law made every home-owner have a legal will before they could buy a house, then it would greatly reduce these problems. A will does not need to be drawn up by a solicitor as it can just be a simple statement of your wishes. The only legal requirement is that it be signed by 2 witnesses. So it would not add too much effort or expense to a house purchase.

  • Invest in Liverpool Children's Centres
The Healthy Liverpool Agenda recognises the need for focussed early intervention, reducing inequalities and expansion of community based services. In Liverpool a third of our children live in poverty and research shows the detrimental impact this has on their health. Liverpool children's centres have a proven track record of delivering health focussed services including: Targeted speech and language interventions. Breastfeeding support. Healthy Eating programmes. Physical Activity. Mental Health support services. Accident prevention services. Children's centres are a trusted and well established community resource with over 78% of children under 5 accessing a service in 2015. The investment needed is only 0.26% of the total CCG budget. We urge the CCG to recognise this opportunity to invest in partnership working and to invest in the children of Liverpool.

  • Ban boxing
Brutal infliction of potentially fatal or disabling injuries should not be considered a sport, leisure activity, or entertainment in a 21st century democracy.

  • Stop the pensioner 'Bedroom Tax'
Plans to cut housing benefit will affect people who have worked hard all their lives. Pensioners should not bear the brunt of yet further underhand benefit cuts. The hardest hit will be the poorest of pensioners, those on state pensions. The likes of my mother, who worked hard all her life and brought our family up. We've all been grafters, and now she's being punished by a government that just doesn't care. In fact, it's not that they don't care, it's that they don't even see. My 81 year old mum has been living in a two bedroom council flat for 35 years, it's her home. Pensioners like my mum will lose £14 per week or be pressured into leaving her beloved home. This is yet another example of a government which simply doesn't care about ordinary people in our country and yet again targets the most vulnerable.

  • Ban Snares for hunting
It is a barbaric and cruel way of hunting foxes, and rabbits, but also affects many wild and domestic mammals wildlife in Britain. The range is huge and includes, Badgers, rabbits, deer (muntjac and young deer), otters, hares, wild cats, stoats and many many more animals. A petition by MP's has been yadeto the Environment Minister but she has rejected it, on the grounds "hat land management and gamekeeping associations have developed a new code of practice on the use of snares that should be given “a chance to come into effect before even considering any further legislation”. Land mangement and gaming association are driven purely by self interests and could not care less of the suffering endured by snaring. I would not wish a death by snaring to my worst enemy, One must assume we have evolved from medieval practices in the 21st century, so why have snares. We humans should know better by now, then to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering to our fellow creatures, just to serve a few.
