Lone child refugees at Camp JungleThe French authorities are about to demolish the refugee camp in Calais, known as Camp Jungle. They are making alternative provisions for all refugees, including children with families. But there are up to 1000 lone child refugees who have nowhere to go. There is a high risk that these children will disappear, and potentially fall victims to exploitation. As a civilised society, we cannot allow this to happen. These children have not done anything wrong, and they have already lost so much. The French authorities are hoping that the UK will finally fulfill its promise to move them to the UK where many have relatives. David Cameron promised to take up to 3000 unaccompanied children. It is about time the UK government made good its promise to these most vulnerable members of the refugee community.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrea Thomas

Refine the Merseyrail 'Feet on Seats' by-lawAlthough we acknowledge that the policy was designed to prevent antisocial behaviour, it is hard to ignore that many people (of many ages) are 'caught out' by the guards who choose to prosecute them for resting a foot/feet on the wide metal frames of the chairs. Often this will be a person who is against the wall of the train and thereby creating no obstruction to people wishing to sit, or in any way damaging the condition of the chair itself...they merely rest their leg on what is, to most, a convenient footstool-height piece of metal. This by-law currently appears to be a revenue-driver for Merseyrail that does little to protect or benefit the public, other than to make the 'victims' of prosecution feel unfairly like criminals and make onlookers emotionally uncomfortable at seeing a fellow traveller so harassed. I observed a 19 year old boy, travelling home to London after visiting his girlfriend, given a potential fine of £140 for having his left leg resting lightly on a chair-frame whilst he was on his phone...he was quiet, unobtrusive and the train was none the worse for this 'criminal act'...and yet for the sake of a weekend at his partner's home city we were going to risk charging him £140. We're asking that the company revise this by-law so that only those people with feet actually on the cushion/upholstery be at risk of prosecution. This will continue to act as a deterrent to anti-social behaviour, whilst allowing visitors to our city (and residents) to have some measure of leeway when being advised by railway security to remove their feet from the vicinity of chairs.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David McGiveron

Make Middlesbrough More Wheelchair Friendly! There are many in our community who have trouble walking or cannot walk at all and there are many places in Middlesbrough that do not cater enough for a wheelchair users needs. Please make Middlesbrough more wheelchair friendly so that those who are wheelchair bound have more freedom and independence! We need more ramps, lifts and easier access from street to building for these people, so this means in some cases we need bigger doors! Please sign and make this happen!15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sienna French

Save Wirral and Chester hospitals. We believe that hospital closures and mergers have a negative impact on services provided and patient care. This proposed merger will result in a reduction of staff, available appointments and operation availability. There will be no maternity provision on the Wirral at all. One hospital instead of three will result in fewer beds being available. We already know the problems experienced in these hospitals at times of high demand, and this will be further worsened. We believe that merging hospitals will reduce the number of staff required, impacting on areas already suffering from economic deprivation and high levels of unemployment and poverty. Increased risks of fatalities due to the transport problems frequently experienced in travelling on the major road routes from Wirral and Chester to Ellesmere Port. Increased travelling time and distance will make being sick or disabled even more of a financial hardship than it already is. Travel can already be problematic for people with numerous or frequent hospital appointments and this will again negatively impact on patients wellbeing.1,389 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Mel Guilfoyle

Stop the Closure of Deer Park Medical CentreDeer Park Medical Centre is a GP Practice providing an excellent service to a large number of people in West Witney due to close on the 3rd November 2016. It is currently being serviced under contact to Virgin Care. Whilst many of us do not agree with the privatisation of health services, Virgin are undoubtedly providing a good service. Whatever it takes to keep this practice open must be done. You cannot seriously consider allowing it to close. Other GP practices in Witney are already badly overstretched and waiting times for an appointment are often measured in weeks. This is not the case at Deer Park, I am a patient and have never had to wait more than days, also they operate walk in clinics for urgent cases. Please don't use the people of West Witney as political pawns in this dangerous game.573 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Steve Johnson

Music on the Piazza MargateIt gives the local businesses a boost, it's important for the economic growth of Margate as it brings in visitors who listen to the music and spend money. Live music in this area does have a positive economic affect to the area. Visitors come back for the music festivals - Soul Weekend, Jazz Weekend, Skagate and the Mods and Rockers weekend. This impacts on local businesses - food, drink, accommodation, retro shops, restaurants, cafes etc who only have a limited time to make the money between Easter and September and it is dependant on the weather.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by sally parrett

Stop waste, feed the hungryEmergency food bank use is it some of it's highest levels. Trussel Trust remains at record high with over one million three-day emergency supply packages being given to people in 2015/16. This shows more and more people in the UK are going hungry. Currently there are tonnes of produce from supermarkets in the UK being wasted. By major supermarkets following Tesco's example and signing up to schemes that donate this surplus produce to those going hungry it will immensely help the ever-growing problem!6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Caitlin Cameron

Give Zaina Erhaim her passport back!Zaina Erhaim, originally from Aleppo, has had her passport confiscated by officials at Heathrow at the request of the Assad government. 'Ms Erhaim has won international awards for courageous and ethical journalism and trained hundreds of citizen reporters, including many women, to report independently and accurately on the horrors of Syria’s six-year-long civil war before finally being forced to flee last year'. (Independent) If, like me, you are ashamed that our government is bending to the will of a brutal dictator, Bashar al-Assad, instead of defending this remarkable woman, then please sign this petition.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeremy Thomas

Stop poisoining our wheatAs wheat starts to turn farmers spray it to kill it off in doing so it takes in large amounts of chemical as a last effort to swell the grain. It seems that very many people are now developing a wheat intolerance and a growing rise in Irritable bowl syndrome and Krohns and stomach complaints. This wheat goes into our bread and is consumed by most of the population on a daily basis. It can not be good under any circumstances. You can't give animals medication just before their meat enters the food chain surely this must be the same.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peter Mawby
