• PROTECT MIDDLEWICK RANGE MAKE IT A Nature Reserve
Middlewick is situated in Colchester Essex which is the first recorded town in England. The Government want the area to be be sold off for housing and local people who use the area for recreational use want this area to be protected. The local people have seen lots of species that are on the protection list including trees in the area and want to encourage more species to flourish in this area. it has great potential as a nature reserve especially as parts of the area are already protected. Local people also feel that more housing would cause problems in so many ways including poor air quality more crime and mental health problems as well as noting the area does not have the infrastructure to cope with more housing. It is so important to protect this land so that animals have a safe haven, and we can find out and learn about our heritage culture and get a better understanding of our environment. So much could be done with this land including country walks, camping, cycling trails, conservation projects and so much more please dont let more concrete destroy this beautiful countryside.

  • Stop Bucks County Council ripping out bushes and trees in Princess Mary Gate!
The residents of Princess Mary Gate have contributed over the years to the maintenance and growth of the planting around the development. Many of us are very angry at the decision to simply rip out many plants and trees and replace them with grassed areas.

  • Save our farm @ Cardinal Wiseman School
Education is the key to animal care and a lot of kids enjoy it, to then just take it away with no reason is very cruel. The staff and the children work very hard to keep the farm running. If it's about money why cant the students do more days to earn the money for the farm. History of the farm and how if started: A TEACHER who set up a farm in the grounds of a Coventry school has retired after 37 years. Sean O’Donovan, 60, who was assistant head of Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, had spent his entire 37 year teaching career at the secondary school in Potters Green. During his time at the school in Potters Green Road, he created a school farm and gardens. When he arrived fresh from an education degree at Bath University the grounds looked very similar to other secondary schools in the city. Now, between playgrounds and classroom blocks, are paddocks for ponies and alpacas, enclosures for chickens and vegetable gardens. There is also a walled fruit garden, a duck pond and a building housing rabbits and guinea pigs. Scores of city children have been inspired to do work experience on farms and do college and university courses in animal care and agriculture. He also forged a link between Cardinal Wiseman and the East African state of Malawi. The school fundraisers for a health clinic and two primary schools. Each year a party of older pupils and staff visit. They deliver medical supplies to the clinic and oversee a health and nutrition programme they have set up at the two schools. They also advise on setting up a school farm similar to the Cardinal Wiseman farm. Among the highlights of Mr O’Donovan’s time at the school are the day Prince Charles visited the school farm. Another highlight was a sustainable schools award in the annual Teaching Awards. Another event that stands out was an invitation to visit Prince Charles’ residence Clarence House with some of the farm animals. Mr O’Donovan found he had to apply for a performing animal licence to take two of the farm’s piglets on the visit. He said: “I will miss the relationships with staff and pupils I have built up over all the years at the school.” Head Helen Knight said: “When I visit primary schools many parents tell me that they were taught by Mr O’Donovan. He is known and loved by all pupils at school and he has made a huge difference to the life of the school through the farm and many other things “I am delighted to say that he will keep up contact with the school as a consultant on rural dimension so that the farm and gardens continue to develop” In his retirement he will also do volunteer fundraising events for Malawi schools and health clinics, see more of his nieces, nephews and godchildren, travel and move to a house with a bigger garden. The school board have now decided they want it closed without any thoughts to the children and the staff who run it instead of working with them and the parents, they are working against them. Give us a year with another option.

  • Putting Racehorses through their paces!
The Kurtsystem is a £20 million machine designed by 'rollercoaster engineers'! Young horses (30 at a time) are harnessed in forcing the horses to gallop at 30mph! Horses are as individual as you or I. No two horses will gallop at the same speed on any given day. Being harnessed in with no way of escaping this contraption, the horse is given no choice but to gallop, how can this be ethical or in the best interest of the horse? Lets not kid ourselves, this is all about making more money out of defenceless animals. This is an industry that is already worth over 3 billion pounds!! Whilst at present the general manager of the Kurtsystem claims the machine is only used on young racehorses pre-training to make them stronger, how long will it be before we see all racehorses being trained in such contraptions? It's barbaric and needs to be stopped.

  • Stop neutrogena animal testing
This is important as through out the whole of neutrogenas business, in Labs they have put chemicals and substances (tested) on poor animals which could result in them being killed. They could be injected with chemicals or they could have it put into there eyes, which could leave them blind. However once the animals has been 'used' as much as it could be they will kill the animal. They are bred in the labs to get more animals to be tested on and for the whole of their life they will live in a cage in the lab. Many of the animals species are things such as Rabbits, Mice, Rats, other mammals etc. This is inhuman of them, wasting and making the animals lives a living hell by torturing them every day. It is unfair how their life has been stolen from them just to test if a product works/is safe for the buyer and testing on animals doesn't even 100% work as other animals are designed differently to us humans. How would you feel if you were one of the poor Rabbits stuck in a cage, never to walk in the sun, injections and tests constantly done to you, never to have proper contact with others? Please sign this petition to help stop this all together, thank you

  • Major development in Worthing threatens long established fox family- Please help us protect them!
The fox family currently live on a large derelict site, which has been vacant for years, consequently growing into a beautiful wildlife haven. The two adults made their den under a hedge and the wildflower meadow that has grown on the re-wildered garden has become the cub’s playground. Many local people have watched and admired this beautiful fox family from afar over the years. It has been a thrill to observe wildlife on our doorstep. There are now plans to completely destroy their well established home and build an 11 storey block of 36 flats with underground parking. Building is imminent. Overnight, this fox family of three (a bonded pair with their six month old cub) will lose their safe haven with nowhere to go. The “best” case scenario will be that the fox family will bolt and try to find a new territory, but this will not be easy as the few nearby gardens are most likely the territory of other urban foxes that will fiercely fight to protect their space. Also, not many humans welcome foxes into their garden and there have been cases of humans attempting to poison foxes. The worst case scenario is that some or all of these foxes could be hurt or killed by the demolition or could be classified as “vermin” and killed by “pest” controllers. Foxes are a native species and play and important part of our ecologic system. They do not harm us and it is humans who take more and more of their habitat away, actively persecuting them as if we had a right to own every inch of Planet Earth. Foxes have as much a right to live here as we do and as compassionate human beings it is our duty to protect them and all other wildlife. All they want is to be allowed to live their short lives in peace. They cannot speak up for themselves. Please be the voice for these beautiful, intelligent and sociable animals, so they will not be killed and are given time to find a new home. Thank you for speaking up for these beautiful animals.

  • Protect Red Squirrels in Perth and Kinross
Perth and Kinross is lucky to have a thriving population of red squirrels which bring great joy to many people. Unfortunately, many red squirrels are killed by speeding vehicles, especially on country roads. The Council needs to be proactive in protecting this native species. Erecting red squirrel road signs and reducing the speed limit on country roads is a good start.

  • Label 'GM-Fed' animal products for consumption
We should have the right to know about how our food is produced, so that we can choose to consume it, or not to. Therefore clear labelling is very important. Also it should be a basic Human Right to be able to avoid food, if it can make us ill. It is suspected that at least 27 people died and over 1500 to 2000 people became permanently disabled (and still awaiting a cure), after consuming a genetically engineered food supplement called 'L Tryptophan' some years ago [This can easily be checked by googling 'Tryptophan + GM Deaths'. Also see below in red box]. On a personal level, 'GM-Fed' animal products have been making me ill, since my local food shops have been selling them unlabelled these past approximate 8 years. It is clear to me that playing about with Nature's deep foundations is not a safe thing to do, coming from our still highly undeveloped level of consciousness. Please support this petition.

  • Help ban the cruelty of Bull Fighting no animal should suffer like this
There is absolutely no need for animals of any description to be killed so cruelly for plain and simply entertainment of crowds, there is nothing honourable in the way these Matadors dispatch the poor beasts it is plain and simply cruelty, time people were educated to the fact that it is wrong to treat animals in such a manner, at least at the slaughterhouse they are dispatched quickly.
