  • Step up Crufts. Zero tolerance of abuse.
Crufts claims to be the biggest and best dog show in the world. For this reason it is in a powerful position to send a message to the world that Crufts operates a policy of zero tolerance of abuse and takes appropriate action in every single case to ensure that all dogs are treated with compassion, respect and dignity at all times. I believe that the handler of the Best in Show Winner 2015 did not do this, despite several requests from Crufts judges. Their attempts to address this on their official Facebook page today is not enough. I believe she broke the rules and should be stripped of the title.

  • Revoke or Amend S.I 2015 No.138 & Save Lives
The court can only order exemption, if satisfied that the dog is not a danger to public safety; the court must now look at the temperament and past behaviour of the dog, whether the applicant is a ‘fit and proper’ person to be in charge of the dog and any other relevant circumstances. The changes will affect and be a death sentence to exempted dogs, much loved family members and companions - dogs which have already been found by a court of law, not to be a danger to public safety. The changes are draconian and do nothing to protect public safety. A family canine member may need to be appointed a new person to care for it, for a variety of reasons, including, housing issues, accident/injury, employment/work commitments, family commitments, divorce/separation. Due to the changes, someone can ONLY apply via a court application, which will be a complicated process for the average person to follow, to be the keeper if the previous person in charge of the dog is either dead or seriously ill. A non-legal person i.e. a rescue/animal welfare charity/company/local authority already registered or about to be registered as the owner on the exemption certificate should be able to re-home their exempted dog via a keepership change without restriction and appoint another registered keeper to the one appointed for any reason deemed necessary, thus saving the dog’s life. If the person to whom the exemption certificate has been issued is away and at a different address to their dog for more than 30 days over the course of a year, according to the new rules set out under SI 138, the dog must die; However, anyone for example who is regularly working away from home, visiting family, undergoing medical treatment/hospitalisation, travelling/working overseas, could be affected and their dog destroyed. This cannot be fair nor just, it is not necessary

  • Stop Coco Blush from selling fur
The fur trade is so sick and cruel that it has now been made illegal to produce fur in the UK. Unfortunately, there are still a few shops, such as Coco Blush in Pontypridd, who place 'fashion' above ethics. I've attempted to contact the manager to ask her in person, but she refuses to return my calls or answer my messages. I intend to gather as many signatures as I can, in a bid to show Coco Blush just how many people think they should change their ways. I'm hoping that this will show them how we feel, without having to launch full scale protests... Please sign and share, if you ,too, think that Coco Blush should stop selling Fur in their Pontypridd branch, as well as in the rest of their stores.

  • Make it compulsory for foxhounds to be muzzled
Foxes are being killed regularly by foxhounds belonging to hunters that are claiming to be trail hunting. The foxhounds should be muzzled so they do not cause any "accidental" harm to foxes or other wildlife.

  • Save Our Paths - Wales
This is across the UK, but our campaign is aimed at Wales. If we group together and help each other, we can have a greater influence, so please support our local campaign and if we can help with yours please do get in touch. Fences are cut and pulled up, gates are left open, animals are let loose, paths and tracks are left impassable, knee high in mud, quagmires, paths rutted and washed away because the surface has been loosened by the heavy and constant abuse of vehicles; A constant stream of vehicles, where once there was peace with only the odd farmer off to check on his livestock, or person walking their dog, or just out with the family. People of all ages are intimidated while trying to stop trespass on their own land, surrounded by circling motor bikes or vulgar shouts from abusive 4 x 4 owners. SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) are also being abused, where is the support from the Countryside Council for Wales to enforce the protection of their Sites? Police are too slow to turn up and provide little support to stop these law breakers. What is the point in passing the trespass law or designate SSSI sites, if there are no Councillors, Countryside Council or Police representatives who will help enforce legislation. This is across the Wales, so if we group together and help each other we can have a greater influence, so please support our local campaign and if we can help with yours please do get in touch. Currently our group is in the Llangollen / Denbighshire / Wrexham area and we desperately need your support to lobby the Local Council , Countryside Council and Police to help us in our campaign . We have a Facebook page, please join / like it and also sign the campaign. https://www.facebook.com/Saveourpathsllangollen

  • Protect the mountain hare!
Thousands of mountain hares are shot and snared in Scotland because they allegedly carry a disease which reduces the number of grouse available to be shot for "sport". In some areas where mountain hares were previously abundant they are now rare or extinct. This is a national scandal. Scottish Natural Heritage is appealing for "voluntary restraint" from the grouse shooting lobby, but they have already had years to put their house in order. The time has now come for robust, properly enforced legislation to protect the mountain hare which is an important part of Scotland's biodiversity and a revenue earning tourist attraction. You can read more about the Scottish mountain hare here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2875818/Amazing-pictures-rare-mountain-hares-hunched-against-freezing-weather-blizzard-conditions.html

  • Dangers of Sky Lanterns
Sky lanterns may look pretty, but the frames can kill or harm farm animals, and the candles are a major risk to crop yields and buildings. They are also a potential danger near airports as they can distract pilots, and the Coastguards are concerned as they can be mistaken for distress flares. They add little to enjoyment, and the problems with them far outweigh any fun people find in them. They should be banned.

  • FOIS GRAS the delicious end, does not justify the means. Time to change....
As evidenced by the recent online news reports featuring video footage of ducks in France being kept in disgusting conditions and obvious suffering, changes for the better are well overdue in this industry. I was served some fois gras to eat quite recently and it was a good, rich delicacy,.. but the suffering that the ducks must go through when it is produced in this manner, is unacceptable. If it can be produced by free range birds that are allowed a reasonable life span, with access to maize 24/7.....that would be humane. Any type of farming where the animals do not have a quality of life that is recognisably close to what it would experience in the wild (fresh air, space to roam, sunshine and things to look at, the ability to forage and associate with others of its species), should be banned and we should be campaigning to get this through in the EU parliament asap.

  • Kill Your Speed, Not a New Forest Pony
Every year, drivers kill ponies in the New Forest through driving too fast, and too carelessly. We need to re-educate everyone who drives in the New Forest and introduce new measures to manage our speed. We lost the Brockenhurst white baby donkey, called Jo-Jo in last week of November 2014, who was killed at 6pm. His Mother had to be moved away as she was so distraught and has now been taken off the forest. But this is just one incident, there are so many losses like this which don't get reported. We need to remember the forest is a National Park with Ponies roaming free, many with young. Would you drive at 40mph knowing you could run over a child? Please support this campaign by signing and sharing. It is down to us as a community to change the mindset of how we drive in the Forest.

  • Stop Sheffield Council Destroying Heeley's Trees
The trees provide an area for wildlife such as squirrels, hedgehogs and birds to live free and natural. It also is a popular route taken by many dog walkers and also cyclists as a barrier from the dangers of the road the other side. The trees provide a natural barrier for people who visit the farm from the noise of the roads and helps cut down the effects of pollution from the traffic in the area.

  • Please Drop Natural Capital & PES from the Nature & Wellbeing Act
Such monetary valuation lays nature open to the perils of commodification and market forces in our current pro-growth economic system, and we ask you to consider adopting alternative metrics in order to assess the state of nature here in the UK. We support the push for mainstream environmental education and the establishment of an active and potent, independent watchdog over governmental, legislative, institutional and corporate biodiversity duties.
