Move weddings to the 21st centuryThe wedding industry has been hit hard by the covid-19 pandemic....so have all the couples who have had to postpone or cancel their weddings, often at considerable cost financially and emotionally. Some couples would like a ceremony that their loved ones can see whilst they are there to see it (which is acutely the case during a pandemic). Yes we need to give people time to object to ensure the marriages are legal and consentual but there shouldn't be a need to be specific (and pay for each time it is changed!) about the date and time, it isn't a Hollywood film and people aren't going to burst through the doors to object.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Sewell

we need more schools to match the amount of housing.I moved into a small village over a year ago and couldn't get my youngest into the local primary school. it took over a year. In fact over a 3 mile radius none of the schools could accommodate both my primary school aged children, resulting in them going to different primary schools. The local council have given permission to 3 different housing plans for over 300 houses on separate estates 1 village. The local school can only taken in 30 pupils per class with only 1 class per year, there isn't room in the local school for the children in the village already, with many kids having to travel over 1-2 miles to get to school. No 8 year old child should have to walk 2.8 miles one way to school because anything under 3 miles is classified as walking distance. with the amount of traffic and dangers around this should also be change. Children are our future, we need to make some changes to help them reach there full potential. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME MAKE A CHANGE TO PROTECTION CHILDRENS FUTURES53 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Danielle bradnum

Essential Covid 19 servicesMany thousands of individuals have lost jobs or a significant part of their income. Many small business have ceased working and whole sectors (e.g. events) cannot predict when they may resume working. Meanwhile high value government contracts for personal protective equipment, Covid 19 testing services, and track and trace systems have been awarded without tendering processes to major corporations. These corporations should not opportunistically profit by this health and economic crisis. By forgoing profits and bearing a proportion of labour costs these corporations can demonstrate their social responsibility. The money released should be used by the treasury to enhance support to people, small businesses, and the social care sector for the duration of the crisis6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christine Tuson

Home office should not keep applications undecided for more than the stipulated time frame. It is important to me because the application fees are high and the applicants end up not getting value for their money. Instead they tend to pay additional costs to get an immigration solicitor to chase the home office. This should not be the case. Let the services be free at all times at the point of delivery and this is only possible if these applications are dealt with within a reasonable time frame and not exceeding the stipulated time frame under any circumstances. If applications cannot be decided within the stipulated time frame or may take longer, my question is how long is longer? It is not specified. Is it 10years, 5 years, 6 months after exceeding the stipulated time frame? If applications remain undecided after 6months, there should be a specified time frame applicants should receive a response. This is a frustrating situation11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Anna Nsem-Nkongho

Children under 11 should be searched for within 3 hours of being reported missingA young girl was missing for 18 years before she was found. She was held in a shed in the garden of her kidnappers home, raped and abused by himself and his wife resulting in two daughters. Eighteen years. Eighteen years of abuse. Eighteen years of rape. Eighteen years. This petition is important to me because children will forever be a part of this world and they should be protected because without them there is no future.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Natalia Chmielewska

Stop plans for unitary authority in WarwickshireWe are asking for your support to stop Warwickshire County Council’s plans to abolish Rugby Borough Council and replace it with a single unitary authority for the whole of the county. Plans for a unitary authority would mean your local voice would be lost; decisions affecting the district would be made by people at a county level who would prioritise the needs of Warwickshire over those of Rugby. The current ongoing parking fiasco is good example of Warwickshire County Council’s heavy handed approach to regional matters. We should be able to govern ourselves and decisions should be made by people who actually live in the area. As of the end of August 2020, Shire Hall has already pressed ahead with matter before a major meeting on September 22nd. There’s still time to stop this . . . or at least let them know how we feel.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Mckenzie

Ban dog walking through stapenhill cemeteryIn recent years dog fouling at Stapenhill Cementary has been taking place on a regular basis. Dog fouling does not only present a significant public health risk but it is also against the law. Perhaps more significantly, the repeated acts of dog fouling at Stapenhill Cemetery causes visitors immense upset, anxiety and ultimately anger when witnessing dog faeces near or even on the graves of their loved ones. These feelings are exacerbated when having clear up the dog mess themselves as it is occurring on such a regular basis. Repeated complaints have been made over the years to East Staffordshire Borough Council, as well as directly to Councillors themselves regarding repeated dog fouling and law breaking which have yielded no results - the dog fouling continues as does therefore pain and anguish for visitors. Throughout the Council continue to charge families thousands of pounds for the 'privilege' of laying their loved ones to rest at the cemetery yet the Council have failed in their duty to enforce the law. It is on this basis that we, the visitors and stakeholders of Stapenhill Cemetery have lost all confidence in the Council's ability to uphold the law and have decided to take action to preserve the dignity of our loved ones that have been laid to rest. We are seeking support from you in this petition to convince the Council to ban dog walking at the cemetery. You may ask "what about the rights of law abiding dog walkers who will be punished due to the act of a few?" We say there are other amenities available for law abiding dog walkers (such as Stapenhill Park which is only 10 mins walk away from the cemetery according to Google maps). Those of you who may think "this does not affect me why should I bother?". Those same words are often reflected upon by visitors who have laid their loved ones to rest at the cemetery. Please support us by placing your details below. This petition will be placed before councillors at East Staffordshire County Council908 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Rubena Kashwar

Bonus for working through Covid-19 PandemicWe need to say thank you to the forgotten Keyworkers as without them the country would have been at a standstill and the workers would like to feel valued as they have never been trained to be on the front line.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Shannon

Let's End Period Poverty in UttlesfordThis petition was launched on 7th March 2020 at an annual celebration of International Women's Day at Saffron Walden day centre open to the public focused on relieving women from the indignity of a lack of menstrual products, as well as discrimination issues faced by women due to taboos associated with menstruation in different parts of the world. (See Picture above: "Leviticus Illustrated 10" by adamrice) On average, menstruating women in the UK spend around £5000 in their lifetime on period products. Low-income families should not have the additional burden of struggling to afford menstrual products, or young people having to use socks in their pants, or missing school once a month because they just can’t afford menstrual protection. An estimated 137,000 young women and girls missing school every year because they do not have the products they need. Uttlesford has a high level of inequality with 21.4% of children living in poverty in 2019 (End Child Poverty Coalition). Nearly 2,300 girls living in poverty in Uttlesford. In one of the richest districts of the fifth richest country in the world, this is completely unacceptable It is a real, local issue which we as a collective can resolve. For the sake of dignity for girls and women, Saffron Walden Constituency Labour Party call on Uttlesford District Council and other local authorities in the area to provide free menstrual products in all of its public facilities. Schools, libraries, youth centres, public toilets, should all provide full access to a range of period products. The petition calls for non-means tested distribution in public buildings such as toilets and libraries, and a drive to assist vulnerable sections of the population, notably households dependent on food banks and people facing housing insecurity.69 of 100 SignaturesCreated by sanjukta Ghosh

Stop the monopoly of live football games on TV.Fans pay to use a clubs website and some listen to live audio, not everyone wants to put money into the big corporations like Sky or BT Sports to watch the game live, Some want to support their clubs and would rather give them the money to watch live games.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gary Colville
