• Funding for NHS and National Social Care
The NHS and National Social Care Sector needs more targeted funding. As a result of the Corona Virus Pandemic, we the UK public, are more aware than ever, of the important roles that the NHS and Social Care sectors play in the life of our country, and there would be a national willingness to support these areas through additional taxation, with the secure knowledge that this would be where the money would be spent.

  • Prison officers need to be recognised as keyworkers
During this outbreak, prison workers are going out each day to keep us safe. They are not being tested for covid-19 and are unable to lock down for 3 weeks as advised by the government. Imagine if they did, there would be riots in prisons across the UK if they were left with a skeleton staff. But Aldi will not recognise them as keyworkers. They are part of our crime and justice system, please sign this petition to get them recognised as keyworkers.

  • Weekly waste bin collections
As the majority of the country are off work and schools there is a lot more waste and rubbish. Normally people would travel to waste disposal centres themselves but as these are closed and as special uplift services have stopped also, rubbish is piling up everywhere, people may fly tip and we may soon be overrun.

  • Help us get to OUR Hospital
Since the new Finchley Memorial Hospital was built, people have been campaigning for better access to the site. Unless you drive a car or can afford a taxi, patients are faced with a very long walk and a dangerous road to cross. For the sick and disabled a journey to the hospital is dangerous and exhausting. Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals have bus services that take them to the front door of the hospital. Why not Finchley? The next person that needs a hospital visit could be you! • Secure moped and bike shed
In light of all the crime that is happening to the moped/bikes or to us for the perpetrators to steal the moped, its horrific and scary. Based on a police research, over 9000 scooter, motorcycles and mopeds were stolen in london in the past year only. https://www.met.police.uk/scootersecurity Even if one is on the job one fears for his life https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7849941/amp/Man-stabbed-death-north-London-murder-capital-2020.html. Therefore it's important for moped riders, motorcyclists and scooter riders to find places where they can park it away safely without fearing the worst all the time.

  • Petition for Ferryside Surgery
We feel very strongly that it is essential to maintain a surgery in Ferryside. We need a doctor, a nurse and a dispensary to provide the vital services required by a village where most residents are over the age of 50. It is an integral part of Calon y Fferi Community centre which is very accessible. Visiting the centre is an opportunity to meet people and mitigates against loneliness and isolation. It helps to maintain physical and mental health at a local level. Public transport is very infrequent which makes using other medical centres very difficult for people with mobility problems. Most people want to stay in their own homes as they age and this is possible and more sustainable and economical when services and companionship are nearby. It would be a backward step to oblige all residents to leave the village for treatment.

  • Make the death certificate system easier.
When people get paper death certificates for a recently deceased person they often have to send a copy to a number of places - banks, probate office, premium bond office and a variety of other places, Each copy currently costs £11. When my mother died this February we got four. Most organisations ask for an original copy and suggest you send it recorded delivery. This means queuing in a Post Office and paying extra several times. The certificates are then generally sent back by recorded delivery which means that if you happen to be out when the post arrives you have to make an arrangement with the Post Office to be in on a certain day for a number of hours - and this happens several times. Since the fact of a death is a public matter, not a private one, I would like there to be a system where there is a Government web-site showing the verified information about that death which could be accessed by any party who needs to have that information. There is a lot to do after a death and this would make one aspect of it so much less time consuming.
