• vehicle speed prevention measures next to Bluebell Meadow Primary School, Trimdon Grange
There has been numerous accidents over the years which happen right outside the school which are so serious the vehicles are right offs & the crash barriers need replacing each time. There has even been times when they've actually hit the school railings what are to keep children safe in the playground. Debrey also ends up in the playground with broken glass. This is not good. If a child were to fall onto a piece what may have been missed when sweeping up, that child is going to be cut & may be hurt considerably more than if they were to fall & just graze themselves. It is only by chance (thank God) that a child or person hasn't been killed. Is it going to be where a child is to be seriously or fatally injured before calming measures will be put in place? It is a nightmare for parents to cross the road with their children at the best of times so we are urging you (Durham County Council) to listen & act on our concerns. This isn't just parents but a whole community. It was only last night (4th July 2018) another car was written off into the crash barriers. This time there were no other vehicles or people involved apart from the driver of the car. Luckily he was ok & not seriously injured. If this had been at school leaving time it would have been a totally different story. We know & understand it is a 'B' road what passes through but, this is obviously more of a serious matter what needs to be looked at urgently. It screams 'DANGER'. It's not like we are asking for the full length of the 'B' road to have calming methods, it's just a few hundred feet of road at the most in the most built up area. The road markings (& temporary speed clock) entering the Grange doesn't deter hardly any of the vehicles. It's like a race track the majority of the time (especially rush hours & later on an evening). People have offered to be a lollipop person FREE of charge which you have declined each time. What is the problem? They've offered a free service because they're that concerned for the welfare of the children. I think if it were in your own neighbourhood & involved being where your children went to school it would have been put in place a long time ago. PLEASE, HELP BY PUTTING THIS INTO MOTION & MAKING IT A SAFER PLACE TO BE. THANK YOU.

  • Improvements for Kingfisher and Fairfield
We believe these long term spends would improve access for safe play for residents and people from all over the borough who visit the site. The site is directly next to the local public swimming pool and as such attracts a lot of visitors. Long term solutions are proven to be the right option. We all feel that sending someone to litter pick on the rare occasion a resident makes a complaint simply cannot be accepted as a solution. It is a weak, short term solution for a big problem, and the council need to stop avoiding the issue and do the right thing by its residents.

  • Enact emergency air pollution legislation for London's school playgrounds.
Air pollution can permanently damage children's developing lungs and has been linked to a lower IQ later in life. Air pollution has been implicated in 40,000 premature deaths in the UK already, and it's only going to get worse. 2,091 schools, nurseries, further education centres and after-school clubs in the UK are within 150 metres of a road with illegal levels of nitrogen dioxide. Is it too much to ask that schools should offer our kids a safe haven from air pollution, not worsen their health and damage their future prospects?

The academisation of schools affects the lives of our school children and teaching staff. The academy chain will benefit the CEO and their inflated salaries. Autonomy and local control NOT a profiteering chain.

  • ALL care staff MUST receive mandatory training in Learning Disabilities & Autism
There have been several cases reported involving early deaths of individuals with learning disabilities and autism, not just in our NHS. The CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspect all registered care providers against regulations in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) All registered care providers MUST provide mandatory training that is presented and is not just a paper exercise. Some of the key points that were raised in the LeDeR report (2018) which examined Mortality in individuals with Learning Disabilities include.. Just over half (57%) of the deaths were of males Most people (96%) were single Most people (93%) were of White ethnic background Just over a quarter (27%) had mild learning disabilities; 33% had moderate learning disabilities; 29% severe learning disabilities; and 11% profound or multiple learning disabilities. Approximately one in ten (9%) usually lived alone Approximately one in ten (9%) had been in an out-of-area placement

  • Let Chesterfield High School year 8 2018 children choose 2 options
Children are feeling excluded and insignificant. Especially those that may be dyslexic and need the more practical subjects to show where their talents lie. Forcing a child to spend four years studying a subject that they find difficult rather than giving them the option to chose subjects they gave a chance at achieving a good grade and chance at getting into higher education, is outrageously unfair. Please give year 8 and future generations a fair chance to achieve their own goals and be happier in education.

Keep the disabled and elderly safe during recycling. We all pay our council tax and have an equal right to use the the facility. Stairs shouldn't stop us. Queuing cars into the main road that is used to exit the town is unsafe.

  • My daughter and son in law separated by the home office rules
My daughter is 30 years old and married to her husband who she has been together with since 2012 which is 6 years this September and married for 4 years July 15th. All because my daughter suffers with epilepsy and cannot work as she is a danger to herself and others she does not meet the financial requirements to bring her husband to the UK which is all wrong. Her husband lives and works in India all my daughter and my son in law want is to be here in the UK as a family it's wrong how they have to live separate lives and only talk and see each other on video call. My daughter has recently come back from India from seeing her husband I can't bear to see her heartbroken and she can't keep travelling there cause of her epilepsy. They belong here together in the UK if my son in law was to come here he wouldn't claim no money from the government he would go to work and support himself I know my daughter can't bring him but surely the home office can see what they are doing to my daughter and millions of other families by keeping them apart just because you don't meet the financial requirements. It is wrong and heartbeaking for my daughter and son in law and the home office must be made to understand this please help me to bring my daughter and son in law together here in the UK as husband and wife

  • Give EU carers automatic settled status
Should EU carers not get the settled status, what happens to those disabled people? Do they go to care homes? Will the government pay for their care? What will happen to the disabled children, will they be allowed in the carers country ? This is a very important issue that the government has totally ignored. This will affect families with disabled children as well as older generation. Someone who has cared for their husband with Alzheimer's will now have to put him in a care home, someone who has cared for their child with severe disabilities will now have to find alternative carers for their child, tearing families apart and trampleling on their human rights. These disabled people are British citizens whom the government seems to have totally ignored. Who will care for them?
