In 2012, 4590 men and 1391 women committed suicide in the United Kingdom. It is estimated that globally, every 40 seconds someone takes their own life. I think we need to start a culture of open and honest discussion about suicide and it's impact. I truly believe if young people were spoken to honestly about mental health before they become adults then we have a chance of forming a mentally healthy society. Or at least one that has understanding of mental illness. As a 14 year old, if you need advice on how to prevent creating a new life, you can access that information at school, similarly about drugs and alcohol. But where do young people go when they feel like they can't take anymore? Who do they turn to in those times? We need to talk to young people BEFORE the point, suicide is the single biggest killer in young men in the UK. Let's have the discussion before it's too late. By having this discussion during school time, we can begin to normalize it and break the taboo. Let's start a culture where we encourage others to reach out for help, one that we all promise to keep an eye on friends we are worried about. Thank you

I was horrified when looking at the Next website so see how very thin some of the models are. Girls today are bombarded with images of unattainable ideals, leading them to all sorts of issues with body image and self confidence.These are not the role models I want for my children. By using these models, Next is condoning this as an aspirational way to be. As a society, we have girls struggling with self image and then companies hold this up as both normal and desirable - most girls would have serious medical problems if they were this size. Anorexia is an illness. Sufferers need help, not the reinforcement that this gives. I am certainly not saying that fashion should be forced to use large models. Slim is healthy. Emaciated is not. Please sign, and through tackling a large high street name, show the fashion idustry that this is not what we, as consumers, want.

There are 181 Accident and Emergency Departments in England and Wales. There is a plan to reduce that number to only 70 Major Emergency Departments. There may be as few as 40. This plan must be stopped. We must keep all of our A and Es..Darlington is in danger of losing the Accident and Emergency Department designation.

Girls are already being immunised against HPV, to protect them against cancer of the cervix. Young men are being diagnosed with life damaging papillomatosis, cancer of the tonsils, anal cancer, and also acting as vectors for HPV spread in women. Epidemiologists, the BMA, Ear,Nose and Throat surgeons, Colorectal surgeons, all agree that protecting all our young people , not just girls is an essential, and fair, public health measure.

Hollins View provides residential respite and short-term breaks. Intermediate Care beds for people leaving hospital and day care services to over 400 people a year. Cheshire East plans to close Hollins View and transfer care to the Private Sector. There is already a shortage of care beds in Macclesfield and the closure of Hollins View could result in people having to travel out of the area, or for some people, no help at all. Carers save Cheshire East thousands of pounds a year caring for their loved ones 24 hours a day seven days a week and sometimes need a break to enable them to carry on caring. If Hollins View closes they could be left unsupported. This service is vital to Carers and to their loved ones. SEND A MESSAGE TO THE LEADERS AT CHESHIRE EAST COUNCIL AND DAVID RUTLEY MP THAT HOLLINS VIEW IS A VITAL AND NECESSARY SERVICE AND MUST NOT CLOSED.

The Crowborough Birthing Centre was the first midwife led birthing centre in the country. It is much valued by all the mothers in the area. Unfortunately because of the problems in the Eastbourne NHS Trust the Crowborough unit keeps being closed temporarily and was under threat of total closure. Not only does the unit provide something approaching a normal home birth it is also very cost effective. Because of the threats of closure there has been moves to transfer the unit to the Pembury hospital under the Maidstone NHS Trust where the future of the unit would be more secure.

The people of Teesside and the surrounding area have a higher than average incidence of complex blood disorders. This is almost certainly due to the history of chemical manufacturing in the area. The Haematology Ward has eight beds and caters for those patients with the most complex needs, usually when they are at crisis point. The current staff are all totally dedicated to improving the well-being of these patients and are devastated by the news of the planned closure. Although there are currently no plans to close the Haematology Day Unit at North Tees, the loss of the Haematology Ward will mean that patients will not receive the vital continuity of care that they must have when their condition requires a stay in hospital. Instead it is planned to send them to either South Tees or Sunderland. It is unbelievable that the Trust plans to throw in the towel. What next? The NHS faces death by a thousand cuts. Carers of people with dementia depend on good respite to keep themselves well. Caring is hard work done with loving care. There are 5.402 people over 65 years living with dementia and 4.500 carers in Cheshire East Borough. Carers and their family 'save Cheshire East Council hundreds of thousands of pounds by caring . They do not wish to travel long distances for their care service, do not allow Cheshire East to close Lincoln House. Act now sign the petition to keep dementia care respite at Lincoln House

Carers are on call 24/7 and save NHS and Social services considerable sums by undertaking their responsibilities as Designated Carers for those partly or wholly disabled. A Carer, in receipt of a State Pension, receives no payment for their costant vigilance because that Pension is more than a Carer's Allowance. Effectively they are working for NHS and Social Services for nothing. It is grossly unfair and the means-testing must be stopped so that Carers' heroic and selfless contribution to society can be properly recognised and remunerated.

Approximately 4,000 new cases of cancer in children and young adults are diagnosed in the UK each year. Be Child Cancer Aware, a parent led and run charity has already sent out millions of signs and symptoms awareness cards with the result that a number of families have received an early diagnosis. Ben's diagnosis is featured on their website. We ask the UK government to officially support this campaign to empower parents with the knowledge that might save the life of a child they know or love. The charity Be Child Cancer Aware introduced and has been successfully leading this awareness campaign for over 4 years without any official support. They now look to the government to recognise the importance of knowing the main signs and symptoms of all childhood cancers.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and teenagers in the UK and our diagnosis time is slower than similar countries to us. Ashya King required two operations to remove his brain tumour, which was reportedly the size of a satsuma. His situation echoes that of our son David, who was treated at the same hospital. Had David's tumour been diagnosed earlier, it would have been smaller. He would probably have needed only one operation instead of the 11 that he endured. I knew nothing about the symptoms of brain tumours at that time. Had I been more aware, I would have taken our son to the doctor weeks earlier. I believe this would have resulted in a better outcome for David, who died in 2012, aged 16. Most parents know the symptoms of meningitis. Few know the symptoms of a brain tumour and yet both these illnesses represent the same risk to a child. The HeadSmart campaign is designed to raise awareness of the symptoms of brain tumours in children, with the sole aim of reducing the average diagnosis time and bringing UK diagnosis times into line with other western countries. Late diagnosis of childhood brain tumours in the UK causes unnecessary suffering, disability and death and is unacceptable. The little help I've received so far from the Department of Health, has been conditional on my NOT being allowed to acknowledge it in the national press. As a mother who had to watch her son die from spinal tumours and full dementia, suffering from a disease that might have been prevented by earlier diagnosis, I beg you to sign this petition and enlist the public help of Jeremy Hunt.
