Throughout my Human Geography degree at Gloucester University I have specialised in learning about the worlds ageing population. An increase in the longevity of people’s lives alongside a declining birth rate has resulted in an ageing population. This means many practical problems have evolved. For example there is an ever increasing strain on healthcare, sheltered housing and an increase in the dependency ratio. An increase in the older generation means the dependency ratio in turn increases; the working section of a population is put under pressure to provide, mostly through taxes for the older generation. However, social stress is occurring which cannot be solved by money alone, there is an ever increasing issue of loneliness within the older generation. Loneliness is a complex and usually unpleasant emotion, which typically includes anxious feelings about a lack of connectedness or communality with others. Loneliness can get into every pore of an elderly persons life and can have detrimental effects. I believe it is a very sad reflection that when people are most in need they feel the most abandoned. However, I want us to work together as a community to create a long term and sustainable solution for loneliness in Cheltenham, this would occur by bringing nursery age children into old peoples homes on a regular basis. The two generations would complete activities together which will have benefits for both (as seen on Channel 4 program 'Old peoples home for 4 year olds')

National governments hold the responsibility to introduce and implement law and policies to protect our fundamental human rights in a cosmopolitan city like London. One of the reasons that acid attacks occur is due to cheap and easy availability of acid in the UK. The state has a due diligence obligation to prevent acid violence on our streets by enforcing tighter regulation of acid sales as well as enacting criminal laws to punish perpetrators. Prevention should start at schools by educating and working with youth to promote respectful relationships and gender equality. Research helps us to understand the causes and effects of acid violence to identify practical and feasible solutions to prevent such attacks whilst taking account of the impact this has on our trade and economy as a whole. We are asking for change in policies and laws that strike a fair and reasonable balance to protect the public whilst being considerate of the rights and duties of our traders, but ultimately our core aim is to punish the perpetrators of this callous act and promote a zero tolerance policy.

Ben's body is extremely weak and its vital that he receives treatment to build up his muscles and treat the scar tissue on his muscles caused by years of passive stretching. Without treatment Ben's muscles can't develop correctly as he grows leaving him in pain on a daily basis.

Private agencies providing nurses , doctors and other health workers charge roughly 15 to 30 % more to provide 'agency' and locum staff. This represents a huge burden on the NHS finances , especially so given staff shortages generally. Recent news reports suggest that Jeremy Hunt has proposed a sell off of the NHS own in-house agency, NHSP, (NHS Professionals),leaving the Department of Health with a small minority share of any new company. Furthermore it would seem that this is being undertaken at a time of year when. Parliamentary scrutiny is less likely to occur, being 'slipped in ' during the summer recess. At the very least it is important that this is now put on hold to give an opportunity for plans to receive full public scrutiny. NHSP is an important arm of the NHS, providing valuable services in house and saving the NHS and taxpayer large sums of money. At a time when private agencies themselves have been subject to concern, the role of NHSP should be strengthened and not undermined. NB "NHS Professionals (NHSP) helps the health service in England tackle its staffing crisis by arranging for doctors and nurses on its books to cover shifts, to avoid gaps in rotas that could threaten patient safety. Labour has asked the National Audit Office to look into why Jeremy Hunt, the health secretary, is selling off a profitable and effective company owned by the Department of Health". Raktim is a brilliant and bright pharmacology PhD student at University of Greenwich. He has worked and paid his national insurance contributions and is a model citizen from work in Sainsbury's pharmacy department. He is only 30 and has his whole life in front of him.He has paid his NHS surcharge and stopping NHS treatment or care now would be detrimental. If his student visa is not extended he cannot get treatment in 🇬🇧 and will need to travel abroad to India whilst unwell. He is fully integrated in the UK.He was discovered unconscious in his room end of May 2017 and was taken to Royal London Hospital. He needs help with feeding and washing. Not very healthy to have those rubbishes on our streets. Not very respectful from council. No consideration for the public. Save the binmen jobs and no cut.

Currently A&E at Weston General is closed between 10pm and 8am. Seriously ill and injured people are being taken over 20 miles to Bristol or Taunton.This puts patients health under grave risk and fatalities are inevitable due to the time it will take to get people to a functioning A&E.....if an ambulance can be found.

As this make it very difficult for the drivers to see and 9 out of 10 teams said they didn't want it, this would make the sport more dangerous

It is tempting people who would not normally seek out gambling establishments to start what could lead to an addiction.

It has been announced there is a worrying shortage of Doctors and Nurses to ensure the NHS can continue to operate. Currently we are bringing people from overseas but failing to encourage our own to study Medicine. The cost of going to University is a big ask of anyone thinking of taking up a career that will not reap rewards for many years. For Nurses it is even harder as they will not get to be in the higher paid salary bands of top Surgeons. In return all students must commit once qualified to a minimum of 5 years working within the NHS. This ensures the taxpayers investment in their careers has a satisfactory return and we all see a properly staffed NHS for the future.

Due to government cuts Hospitals around North Derbyshire are being closed. Our standpoints should be taken into consideration due to the harmful effects which would occur if this beneficent petition were not to be signed. Factors such as travel would become problematic especially for the elderly relatives having to use public transport in rural areas such as Bakewell and surrounding villages. The staff would have to be relocated perhaps to a less convenient area which may extend their working day and affect their life/work balance and would cost more in travel. Overcrowding would be seen in the larger hospitals which would have a drastic impact on waiting times. These are just some of the multiple problems North Derbyshire would face in the shutting down of some of their many hospitals. To also show support it would be very beneficial if you would come to the meeting in the County Hall in Matlock at 7pm on the 24th of July.

NHS staff are vital in the UK. They save lives and shouldn't be penalised for it. There is no justification why they should be charged were they park their car using private car park companies in fines. It's disgusting to think it's actually happening. Needs to be resolved.
