Cumbria already has Sellafield. The Sellafield site has the biggest amount of radioactivity on the planet. A major accident involving the liquid high level waste tanks would have catastrophic consequences and make the area uninhabitable for many generations. The area around the Sellafield site should be an untouchable buffer zone to: a) provide a measure of safety for surrounding towns and villages b) to accommodate the documented leakage of radiation from the Sellafield site into groundwater. c) to minimise the target area for terrorist attack (instead of doubling it) Instead of honouring a beautiful wildlife diverse landscape bought by the public purse and guaranteeing a buffer zone around Sellafield the UK government are planning to sell off a vast area. The land stretches to the villages of Beckermet, Braystones and Calder Bridge. Not only this but the companies who are being wooed to buy the land are the very same companies responsible for Fukushima. "The Moorside Project" is being promoted by NUGEN a company 100% owned by Toshiba. Toshiba’s proposed three new reactors are AP1000s. These are the next generation of the same old uranium burning technology. The difference is that these reactors burn the uranium for longer and harder. The resulting radioactive wastes are much hotter and have to be cooled for decades longer. The NDA have told Radiation Free Lakeland that the fresh water resource for cooling is “a matter for the operators.” Currently Sellafield uses over 4 million gallons of water daily to abstracted from Wastwater, the River Ehen, the River Calder and boreholes in the area. Sellafield stopped producing electricity in 2003. The elephant in the room is of course Toshiba’s track record in nuclear safety. Toshiba supplied the steam generator, architecture and reactor for Fukushima reactors numbers 3 and 5, while Hitachi (merged with Toshiba) supplied the reactor, steam generator and architecture for Fukushima reactor no 4. As part of the CDC’s allocation of an extra 3,360 new homes in Cirencester their intention is to build an estate of 2,500 houses on the fields to the south west of Cirencester. We believe Cirencester’s residents have not been made fully aware of CDC's plans, which would fundamentally change the character of our market town. Cirencester’s population of 19,000 would be increased by nearly 40% In contrast, other Cotswold towns will be proportionately much less developed, and most villages, despite their needs, will only have minimal, or no, new housing. Focusing development on Cirencester, and specifically on one large site, risks dwarfing the existing historic town, and diminishing its distinctive character. The distance from the planned estate to the town centre is too great to walk. Many will opt for the car, thereby exacerbating the existing traffic congestion and parking problems in the town Sustainable housing development should be distributed throughout the whole Cotswold region, and not disproportionately concentrated on one site in Cirencester. These unreasonably extensive developments present numerous environmental and infrastructure issues: - Additional congestion on local roads, inclusing an already overcrowded and dangerous A428 - Insufficient infrastructure and facilities on the existing Loves Farm site - Insufficient provision for infrastructure and facilities on the proposed new sites - Destruction of an enormous piece of green-belt land - Destruction of the habitat of many species of animal, bird, plant and insect over this vast area. - Inadequate neighbour consultation - Destruction of arable land - A lack of communication from HDC to St Neots Town Council and local residents

The area is one of abundance wildlife and varied plant life and wild flowers. It holds a huge population from shrews to badgers. Aquatic life,songbirds, grass snakes, slow worms, common lizards, adders, it is regularly used by members of the local community and walkers. There is a public right of way/footpath which it seems developers want to incorporate into their site, the pathway existed in 1840 for certain and possibly before. This area also forms part of the Dawley Heritage trail. Road access is poor as is street lighting and it would create a significant hazard having the entrance impede the junction with an historic railway bridge which is currently suffering from vehicle strikes even now.

The Government’s new Infrastructure Bill removes control over decisions to sell, or develop, publicly owned land from our local Councils. This is our land. It contains a clause ending the rights of local Councils to grant, or deny, planning consent - while cancelling any rights of way or any need to ask the people of England and Wales if they mind losing their; parks, playing fields, allotments or village greens to developers or road and rail builders. The Infrastructure Bill contains a clause which will allow ALL public land to be privatized and Schedule 3 of the Infrastructure Bill states, “the property, rights and liabilities that may be transferred by scheme include … property, rights and liabilities that would not otherwise be capable of being transferred or assigned.” In plain English, this means all preceding regulation, legislation and other protections are null and void. From the government’s perspective, it’s all about speeding up planning decisions and avoiding the delay caused by local ownership in the decision making process. However, this hands even more power to Eric Pickles and his unelected Planning Inspectors to bully and ride 'rough shod' over locally elected Councils and residents. This Government promised a “Localism Agenda”, but is delivering the greatest shift of power from locally elected people to a burgeoning, remote, Central Government since the signing of the Lisbon Treaty. We must not be resigned to the situation - we must insist our voice is heard

Peter Nelson, who formerly run Crystal Commissions in the town centre, erected this memorial in tribute to his late wife, Angela, and also as a gift to the town he has called home for so many years, and the town he has provided invaluable services to from his business. Given the history of the slag bank, being built upon what was formerly known as Chapel Hill, and the location, many people in the area think this is a wonderful tribute and should be allowed to remain. For all the right reasons it needs to happen to demonstrate how safe it is to the british public

The outcome of the current Hammersmith and Fulham council's review could significantly alter the original Master plan. The demolition of Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre should be now considered premature, given that approval was only granted on the condition that the site-wide Master plan go ahead as presented. For this reason, we ask that a 'pause’ on the demolition be announced with immediate effect.

London is a huge city which could spread out for many miles more if allowed to. The Green Belt was created to allow Londoners to have some fresh air and nature, trees, plants and animals which is vital for our mental and physical health. London does not need to be any bigger than it already is.

Constant flow of children in area. The road serves 3 Primary Schools and 2 High schools. The present speed ramps do not deter vehicles to slow down in fact the opposite. A 7.5 ton weight limit would stop lorries and buses and Chicanes would reduce the speed of all other vehicles

1. Ancient woodland is irreplaceable. Once it's gone, its gone forever. It cannot be recreated. 2. Ancient woods are our richest land-based habitat. They have had relatively little disturbance over the centuries, which has allowed them to develop complex and diverse ecological communities of plants and animals. 3. Ancient woods are of archaeological importance, providing living records of the past and, are also some of our most beautiful places to visit. 4. Ancient woodland covers just two per cent of the UK and much of it is highly fragmented. 5. 256 species of conservation concern live in ancient woodland.

Rosenau Crescent and many areas of Wandsworth where this pavement and kerbstone replacement "work" is being done by council contractors are handsome streets where residents care about their environment and work hard to make it look good. Many are designated Conservation Areas. Pride in one's surroundings is an important part of being a healthy human being. The council is destroying this important part of residents' lives and has not bothered to reply to many letters and emails of complaint over several months. There is no accountable democracy here, only institutionalised vandalism and blatant disregard for the electorate. Nor is the council's "long-term solution" to tree roots disturbing the paving effective. Within several months of laying tarmac the pavements are so uneven that the trip hazard is worse than ever. We have spoken to one of Britain's top arborialists who says the trees are unsuitable for the site and that, in any case, they need replacing at their age. We need the council to replant with appropriate types of tree and replace the pavements as they were. We have asked repeatedly over many months where Rosenau Crescent's historic granite kerbstones have been taken and had no response from Wandsworth Council. Council contractors are still taking these away.
