Scotland's Railways into Public ownership. To have quality transport in Rails is better for environment, and if cheaper could be accessible by many, the fairs at moment are far to expensive. and the Journey times are far to long, shorter train times investment in our rails and trains better tracks faster times. and more quality of trains from central Scotland right up to the North of Scotland, better facilities at rail stations too.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jonathan Dale

UK Car InsuranceCar insurance in the UK is a subject which resonates strongly with and I know personally dejects and angers drivers in the uk on a national level. If your passionate about changing car insurance premiums please, I implore you to take the time to read my story and get onboard with this petition! As a young, daily driver living in the UK my utter frustration with the extortionate and unjustifiable cost of car Insurance premiums has convinced me that it's time to speak up on behalf of the nation in an attempt to at very least partially reform the way in which insurance premiums are calculated in order for competent people to be able to run and afford a car with a price which is fair and reflective of the person, the vehicle and their personal situation which currently is absolutely not the case! Of course I am no financial expert and I am not all that business savvy, however I can speak for the people because I'm one of them, I pay insurance just like anybody else and we simply have to tackle this issue for reasons that I can best get across with my own personal story. As a 26 year old living in Dorset, south west England it's absolutely vital for me to own and run a car, without it I could not get to work, see my family or participate in most of my social hobbies. I first passed my test in September 2013 at the first time of asking with only 3 minors, quickly after buying my first car, a 1.5 litre Peugeot 106. At the time I fully expected a high premium as a new driver with an old car, and I ended up settling on a quote of £1,188 as a named driver on a parents policy, which was almost exactly twice the total cost of the car itself. Admittedly compared with some quotes out there this one wasn't actually too bad. I was very unfortunate with my first car as I had it parked with a permit in a local public car park and overnight one Saturday just 6 months into my ownership it was torched to a pile of ash. Upon getting in touch with my insurance company (whom I won't name, even though I'd love to) they initially refused to pay up anything on the grounds that I'd taken out a 12 month policy for which I'd not completed upto this point. As you can imagine I was devastated, I was now car-less and over £600 out of pocket. After weeks of negotiation with the company demanding I finish paying for a car that NO LONGER EXISTED, I settled on a payout of £315 with them cancelling my policy...which is naturally what I wanted anyway. 4 months later I bought my second car (which I still own) a 1.6 soda Felicia worth £600. I managed to get a quote of (I forget the exact amount) around £750 which was much better...but please hold on, here comes the goodstuff! Around 8 months into my policy that I was very happy with I was burdened with a letter out of the blue demanding £180 in charges on top of a revised premium of £1,300 due to a "fault claim, which was not properly disclosed" Not being savvy with these sort of things I had no idea whatsoever the fire damage claim from a full year ago counted as an accident claim and so regardless that I'd entirely lost my car due to a very rare act of vandalism, here I was, being asked to pay out double the rate plus back dated charges for something which had absolutely no reflection atall on myself, my driving competency or the car. After paying off the charges I cancelled my policy and in a bid to keep my job I frantically called one insurance provider after another all of which wanted a minimum of £1,330 with other quotes reaching (and I'm not joking!) £10,000 for a car that considering its like for like value I'd have to write off completely between 2 and 17 times every year, despite the fact that apart from the said event, I have nad no claims, no accidents atall in the nearly 4 years that I have been driving. My no claims bonus makes no difference, may age and experience on the road makes no difference and if it wasn't for my now fiancé being a named driver I would still be paying £1,300 per year. When speaking with staff as well as managers at various insurance companies, I have never been given a straight and congruent response as to the price of car insurance, there's is no rhyme or reason and it's a very literal case of "That's what the computer tells us" Im am by no means the only person who has suffered at the hands of apocalyptic prices which these companies who know we can't currently do anything about it and I'm sure there are many stories just like mine which is why I really sincerely hope people get onboard with my petition, take the time to read my story and stop this absolute madness. As a final addition to my story I'd like to add that my fiancé who has been driving for 15 years at the age of 33 with absolutely no claims atall who drives a 2011 1.2 litre Nissan Micra has recently been given her renewal quote to the tune of over £1000 when previously paying £500 per year...why??...not even the insurance companies themselves appear to know why. It makes absolutly no sense! Please people of Britain lets get this sorted and make a difference because soon enough for those on the lower rung of the ladder cars will just become more and more unaffordable.31 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Arthur

Save our lollipop man for Sutton Manor PrimaryOur school is on a very busy road with links to the motorway and link road near by. Traffic seem to use this road a lot as a short to these routes. I feel our children will be in danger and many fatalities will occur? If we lose him .58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brenda Anders

Fix the Chanterlands Ave Railway BridgeThe bridge is in a poor state and urgently needs work. Representatives met with local people and promised to do something six months ago. Until Network Rail have completed their work , the damage done to the heritage tiles, railings and lighting cannot be fixed. The walls are coated in slime and it is on a busy school and shopping route. It is ugly and unhealthy.86 of 100 SignaturesCreated by chris dowd

Car TaxThis will allow people on low in come to change there tax on a car without having to purchase more tax than they need to, as it is if you change your car 2 weeks into the month I.E due to right offs you have to pay for 2 weeks of the month on tax for the new car that you have all ready paid for. By allowing people to change there tax to a different car then they will not be charged for tax that was never needed as they did not have that car at that time.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Matthews

Ban E-bikes from offroad footpaths and cycle routes.E-bikes are a hazard and a nuisance, particularly to those who're oblivious to what's going on around them. It's only a matter of time before someone is killed or seriously maimed by these "silent killers". The E-bike riders are generally rude and obnoxious. Walking and cycling in the great outdoors used to be a good way to escape these sorts of people (they're lazy), unfortunately that's no longer the case.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stoo Fus

Lower bus fares in ChesterWhy are the bus fares in Chester so varied? Blacon to the bus station is around £2 all day travel to travel 2 miles in distance, but from Kingsway to the centre costs £3.40 all day travel and its only an extra 0.6 of a mile in travel how can it cost this much? I could get to Ellesmere port from Chester at £4 all day travel and you are travelling 6 miles! That's only and extra 60p and I am travelling an extra 4 miles in distance!!! Who has worked these fares out?? And how can 0.6 of a mile cost more then 4 miles?! I do not understand how they work the bus fares out and why certain places are charged way more. Fares need re looking at and a fairer price needs to be set. Not adding an extra £1.40 to travel just over half a mile but to travel an extra 4 miles it only costs 60p! Its ridiculous and something needs to be done.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sarah McDermott

Stop Jupiter Artland building a dangerous exit road at West CliftonWest Clifton is a small rural community at the western edge of Edinburgh. Despite meeting with Jupiter Artland where we pleaded with them, begged them to protect our children and families, they are going ahead anyway. We believe an accident is inevitable and we fear our children and families are the ones who will suffer. In the process they have also ruined our environment. Some residents are now looking out on a grey, sterile, hardcore road where they once saw trees, grass, hedgerows and wildlife. It was a beautiful wild bridle way, now totally destroyed. Wildlife has been driven out, trees cut down, hedgerows and wildflowers ripped up. The families of West Clifton think Jupiter Artland have been really bad neighbours. Please stop them.93 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mark Phillips

Cut traffic pollution with a Park and RideToo many cars are coming into Cleethorpes and Grimsby leading to a rise in air pollution. Air pollution is hurting the lungs of our children, older people and those with respiratory conditions like asthma. A Park and Ride facility would be the best way forward to cut the air pollution we experience.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by George Georgiou

Reduce Speed on LucklawhillLucklawhill is a country lane, which is consistently plagued by dangerous speeding traffic. Despite its narrow boundary parametres, and limited traffic capacity, it has been historically a 60 mph zone. Recently, following ongoing concerns, residents sought a reduction in the speed limit, resulting in a reduction to 30 mph. However, this outcome is not sufficient for a number of reasons. Firstly, a 30 mph is an unsafe speed for a narrow country lane with over a dozen blind entrance/exit ways. There are no pavements or pathways to avoid vehicles travelling on the lane. Dog/ leisure walkers, pony hackers, and local wildlife continue to be at risk of speeding cars. Many of the residents have pet animals, and live stock which are placed at increased risk of accident, injury, and fatality. Indeed several residents have had animals killed, and have been faced with significant physical damage to property from vehicles driving at uncontrolled excess speed. It is clear therefore, that local residents and other lane users/ visitors are at best disadvataged, and at worse vulnerable to harm. Secondly, the local authority have not pledged to provide and erect any clear road signage on Lucklawhill which is essential in order to inform road users to reduce their speed. In addition, practical measures such as speed bumps would ensure forced speed reduction, thus increasing safety on the lane. However both speed signage, and practical speed bumps are not considered to be financially viable by the Fife Council. By signing this petition we can demonstrate to Fife Council that we are serious about our concerns, and we wish them to consider our requests.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Claire Evans-Williams
