• Remove charges from QE2 Bridge
When the bridge was built and a toll introduced it was promised that when the bridge was paid for the toll would be removed. This promise has not been kept.

  • Fair Fines
Unfair on the poorest in society. The new speeding fine is 1.5 x the weekly wage up to a maximum £1,000. So someone on a £300 would be fined £450 and a celebrity on £100,000 a week would pay £1,000 nother £150,000. I believe that the Lower paid individual is less able to pay 1.5 x the weekly wage. So why is there a cap, celebrities will pay more than £1,000 on a bottle of champagne. This not fair and promotes the richest being above the law! The limit must be removed.

  • Get Southeastern off the railways!
Southeastern do not provide a functioning service. There are frequent delays and cancellations. The service, which a lot of people use to go to work and for their social life, is not reliable. People are having hours added onto their working week because of their incompetence and some are even losing their jobs.

  • Say No to 8am-8pm Parking Excess
Parking enforcement will have a field day - but residents, visitors, parents doing the school drop, faith groups and businesses will lose out. This 365 days a year of severe parking control is a money making venture by the council. Broad Green is over-built and this is causing congestion - the council is penalising residents when it is to blame.

  • LevenMouth Return our Railway to Leven
There used to be an extensive railway around Levenmouth. The tracks of this rail network still exist. Until very recently the coal trains ran to the power station in Leven. The railway was removed in favour of car transportation and since then this has left the town economically stranded and has had a detrimental effect on the community. To date people living in Leven are by far the largest urban concentration in Scotland not served by direct rail links. The line is intact, unlike others which have been granted meaning that the costs would be vastly reduced in repair. We only have very poor alternative transport modes, especially road, despite the very large population and industrial base. We have significant growth in housing and thus population which is not served by necessary infrastructure. We are terribly affected by being cut off. I have not been able to sell my house in seven years despite it being a period property in the town centre, the crisis made worse by low employment opportunities in the area. The return of a railway would constitute a green alternative to constantly building roads and cars thereby lessening the climate impact. As a coastal and golfing town, we have much to offer families and visitors as we did before our railway was taken away without our consultation. We need our trains back.

  • A6NI to be renamed the Heaney Highway
Renaming the A6 would honour one of NI's most distinguished poets, Seamus Heaney. He took this route often to school & back from home and the region was part & parcel of his early work. His poetry is inclusive, hopeful, reflective and frequently quoted as part of our peace process. Ideally the A6 also can further his wishes for progress and peace. This would tie up very well with the "Wild Atlantic Way" and can benefit the counties in between too. It would be advantageous too for Tourism and as the Heaney Homestead is on this route, also rather appropiate.

  • Routinely Grit Roads Leading to Boldmere Infant & Junior Schools
700 pupils aged 4 to 11 travel to Boldmere Infant and Junior schools every day. The road loop leading to the schools goes downhill, round 2 sharp bends and uphill. When it snows or is icy, this compacts and it's usually the last area to retain ice, making it very hazardous indeed to drive the roads and walk on the pavements. My children and I have slipped countless times, and watched cars skid, even when driving slowly. Many of the houses on these roads do not have driveways so residents and parents park on the road, leading to traffic problems on the school run. Whilst many children walk to school, ice and snow make an already hazardous area even more treacherous and it's only a matter of time before something awful happens. Please sign this petition and ask Birmingham City Council to remove this needless hazard from the lives of 700 children, their care-givers and local residents.

  • Do not withdraw the 34/X bus service to Braintree/Great Notley/Bocking
There's been hardly or no consultation on its withdrawal and if the Council want to revitalise the High Street in Braintree, it's not going to be very helpful if no one can get there. Not everyone has a car, perhaps disabled or have children so driving isn't always an option. The council has an obligation to provide a means of access to the local town for those old, disabled, unable to drive. If companies are still permitted to put profit before services then Braintree will become a dead town. It's bad enough that empty units are booking shops (I think we have at least 4 of them), numerous charity shops, 2 pathetically sized supermarkets and that's the only reason to visit. The council has its priorities upside down. No customers = no High Street. No public service = more parking requirements. Is there any reason to visit Braintree anymore? The rate it's going it's a dying town and it's all down to the council not promoting the correct priorities. Apparently we're a Portas Town, well other than a few posters, I don't see any appreciable difference other than multiplication and monopolisation of Tesco in the area. If you're going to build another 20,000 houses here, then you're going to have to give them a reason to come. Another Tesco or public transport won't cut it.

  • Make VW pay NHS for diesel car health effect
The consequences or a company's deliberate avoidance of healthcare measures (such as NOx control measures) must be punishable by compensation and/or costs to all affected parties. The NHS and taxpayers should not have to carry the bill for this type of profit enhancing avoidance measure. In this particular case (VW 'dieselgate') it seems likely that the NHS will be the largest single financial loser and should therefore seek to recover costs.

  • End the Rail Fares Rip Off
We call for an assurance from Northern Rail that there will be no fare increase till 2018. In August 2016, an off-peak return from Rochdale to Manchester was £4.30, on September 3rd 2016 it increased to £4.90 and in January 2017 - it went up again to £5.40. On average, fares have risen by 2.3% - considerably higher than inflation. Councillor Andy Kelly and local Liberal Democrats will present this to Northern Rail and Transport for Greater Manchester at the end of February. Please sign and send a clear message that we will not accept any fare increases till AT LEAST January 2018.

  • Stop the proposed traffic diversion through St Mary's Colchester
Traffic from a Balkerne Hill, a major two lane arterial road, will be temporarily diverted through our narrow residential streets for up to 6 months. This is unnecessary and will create huge new traffic flows through residential streets, causing air and noise pollution, traffic gridlock, and pedestrian hazards. Residents have not been properly consulted by Essex County Council which should listen to our reasonable and legitimate concerns. Your road or street could be next! Help petition both: (i) Essex County Council - to stop the traffic diversion and consult with local residents, and (ii) Colchester Borough Council - to stand up to the County Council on behalf of Colchester residents.

  • Give us a lift - Warwick station.
I'm sure we are not the only residents who've had to carry our kids up the station steps in a buggy, before running to the front of the station and back again just to get a ticket? As residents we are now called to join the fight to ensure disabled travellers and parents with pushchairs do not lose out on the vital upgrades.
