Removal of the Bedroom Tax from the 2017 Conservative ManifestoSince the introduction of the Bedroom Tax, affected tenants have been forced to make a series of cutbacks in order to survive on a lower income. The Department for Work and Pensions estimated that 75% had to cut back on their expenditure on food, 46% reduced the amount they spent on heating and 33% spent less on travel. These are cutbacks that are not necessary - the harshness of the Bedroom Tax is the reason for such measures. 14-25% reduction in housing benefit is a large chunk of income to lose, especially when this money is essential to pay bills. Those losing housing benefit struggle to increase income levels after the tax; 50% of affected tenants wished to do this, by either finding employment or increasing their hours at their current employment, yet found difficulty in being able to do this.319 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Callum Leaver

Save Our Sheltered Housing WardensGlasgow City Council has announced that it is cutting all funding to the Housing Support Budget. This means that our vulnerable elderly residents of Glasgow will be without the vital warden support which they currently receive. The warden is a life line for people who have very little or no family and support, enabling them to live not only as independent a life as they possibly can, but simply to live! Without this support, many people would sit lonely for days, weeks or months with absolutely no contact. Our elderly residents will end up completely neglected as GP's do not routinely check on their older patients and are stretched to the limits themselves. Imagine sitting all alone, no one bothering with you or even knowing you exist. Just think how frightened you would feel if this was you, just waiting to die because no one cares. How dare the Council treat our Elderly people like this! Please sign this petition and help save our wardens and show our older people you care about them. Thanks for your support.254 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Carol Cooney

Save St Johns HouseThis is important because St John's House has helped many young people to lead a fulfilling life, the staff at St John's have cared for and made yps like me feel wanted and loved, something which a lot of us have never experienced before, we need your help to stop them shutting it as we want other young people to have the same opportunity to receive the same amazing care. We also want the council to recognise what has happened to us and what we have gone through , we are not allowed to see the staff and have been put in cars and taken away without being able to even say goodbye.500 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Jasmine Morris

Increase funding for the National Wildlife Crime UnitThe UK's National Wildlife Crime Unit is badly underfunded. A recent FOI request revealed an actual annual income of only £515, 203 - allowing them to employ 10.6 "full time equivalent" staff (which in fact equates to 11 staff members). This is across the whole of the UK! No wonder wildlife crime in the UK is rampant. Hen Harriers are regularly shot over grouse moors and nobody is prosecuted, to cite just one example. If the NWCU are going to do an effective job of preventing (and prosecuting) wildlife crime in the UK they need to be far better funded176 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Nick Morphet

Damien Green: Reinstate Housing Benefits for Young PeopleWith effect from 1st April 2017 18- 21 year olds will no longer be entitled to Housing Benefit. We know that many young people rely on housing benefit to keep a roof over their heads. These young people do not choose to become homeless. They are often forced out of home because of domestic violence or family breakdown7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joanna Burns

Revoke the "Rape Clause"The new government policies that came into force yesterday have been assessed as pushing an extra 200,000 children into poverty. One of the changes effectively punishes the 3rd child and treats them differently to their older siblings. It also places unbearable pressure on the mother to put in an official form whether she has been raped or not. Given that most rapes go unreported, or do not reach court due to the high attrition rates for sexual offences, how exactly are women in this position supposed to be able to prove their rape? How many women will choose not apply rather than relive the trauma of the assault? This new approach also penalises parents who already have a 3rd child, and who may need state support in the future due to their circumstances changing. Only their first 2 children are eligible for financial support, again effectively discriminating against the 3rd child. This is blatantly unfair, and against the rights of the child and the mother. It's crucial that this change is challenged and if necessary taken through the courts and all the way to the ECHR- for the sake of children and families. This needs to be challenged by all political parties to send a strong signal to the Government that it cannot get away with treating its citizens in this cruel and inhuman way.663 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Sara Roberts

Revoke the rape clause and 2 child limit to tax credits.Child poverty is leading cause of poor life chances and without the vital support of tax credits and universal credit child element many children will suffer hunger, social exclusion, deprivation. These policies unfairly attack women and children and cut the link between need and social security.693 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Karen Mclean

No More Homeless Deaths! It is abhorrent that in a country as wealthy as ours, a man has been allowed to die on the streets of Glasgow because he had nowhere to go. Glasgow City Council website states that: “As a minimum, the council will arrange for you to receive: Advice and Information Temporary Accommodation” We demand that Glasgow City Council acts immediately to fulfil it's duty to the people of Glasgow. Everyone who presents themselves at a Council facility as homeless, should immediately be provided with somewhere safe and warm to stay, until such times as they are able to find permanent accommodation. Furthermore, we demand an end to the policy of abandoning our friends who are deemed to have made themselves intentionally homeless. This unfairly punishes people unfamiliar with the law or who are victims of bullying by rogue landlords.394 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Direct Action For The Immediate End to Sleeping-rough (DAFTIES)

Save Maldon Social Care ServicesA SOCIAL care service supporting vulnerable people across Maldon and the Dengie is to be axed. One Support, which provides social care to around 1,600 elderly and vulnerable residents with physical and mental health problems, is due to be completely removed from the Maldon and Dengie areas by March 31. Carers visit clients at least once a week to help them manage their day-to-day life, including organising finances to helping carry out household jobs. The programme is a subsidiary of One Housing, which helps create homes and support people to help them live better and healthier, and is jointly managed by Essex County Council and Moat Housing. However, those who receive the support have been informed that the service will no longer be provided, as part of planned cuts of £713,000 to social care in Essex. It is understood ten staff will lose their jobs.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lee Rigby

Homecare for the elderly.Makes me soooo cross, the Government supposedly give £530 per week to care for our elderly to private companies but only pay £60 per week to relatives that are willing to cover it, and now not enough places for the elderly that need it, pay higher rates to family that are willing to do the job thereby ensuring the best care for our loved ones...problem sorted !!!!8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Longbon
