• Monetary System Education
Money is fundamental to life and public ignorance of the monetary system and the resulting debt levels that cause undue suffering are unacceptable in a modern democracy.

  • Better WiFi for Tuke House
As students, we have assignments to complete and we need adequate internet access to complete our coursework. I have spent £95 on data these last two weeks. It’s outrageous and needs to be resolved. The amount of people complaining about the WiFi is appalling, and cannot continue. WiFi is supposed to be provided by our accommodation/ university but when going to complain you get told that they can’t do anything about it, and the other one can sort it. Deadline week has been an absolute nightmare.

  • Save wildlife habitat and trees in Thorley
In the last 2 years over 200 hundred mature and semi mature trees have been cut down and mashed by East Herts District Council, additionally hedges and undergrowth have been removed even during bird breading season and prior to hibernation times. Today I have discovered that yet more extensive sections of habitat and trees are being removed and the reason given by the contractor is to prevent drug dealing/taking activities under the cover which this habitat provides. The habitat is home to all forms of local wildlife including flocking birds, bats, insects and small mammals. In addition to habitat for wildlife the trees and shrub lines provide privacy for homes and shelter pedestrians from rain and wind in the colder months while providing shade in the summer and generally make this area a more pleasant place to live. To lose habitat because we are ineffective in the fight against drugs is unacceptable. There must be another solution to this issue that does not mean destroying the environment or the aesthetic value it provides. Please sign this petition to help us make EHDC understand that we value our trees and hedges and want to keep this habitat safe from needless destruction.

It will save parents money from the free transport that would be provided. In the UK the average bus ticket cost for student to get to school is £1.70 for one way and £2.50 and for a school week that is £12.50! Parents can be using the money they will save from buying bus tickets to buy school supplies.

  • Nationalise UK housing
WE NEED A NATIONAL HOUSING SERVICE TO DEAL WITH THE EXTRAORDINARY CRISIS IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING TODAY.. Chris Blythe OBE. the Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Building has recommended that "due to the ongoing failure of the private market that we need a national body for control of planning & development to provide low cost, high quality homes in the numbers now required." Affordable housing is a “precious national resource” “If we are educating people and looking after their health, does it not make sense that we should close the loop with good housing that promotes health and enables people to take advantage of our investment in their education?” . In his hard-hitting essay, entitled “Nationalise the housing market: A radical proposal for an extraordinary crisis”, Blythe traces the origins of the crisis over two decades. His proposal comes as the number of households in England in emergency accommodation hit 77,240 this year, an increase of 60% since March 2011. Official statistics show that the median price paid for residential property increased by 259% between 1997 and 2016, while median individual annual earnings increased by just 68% in the same time period. ALL THIS MUST END! PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION. WE MUST DO SOMETHING TO SOLVE OUR HOUSING CRISIS NOW!

  • Investment in Rail Services - Exeter Area
Failure to respond NOW to these inadequacies in our train network will eventually lead to people returning to driving in to an already crowded and clogged city, where car parking spaces are at a premium or not visiting Exeter at all, resulting in a dented economy. The numbers of people who are squashed in to carriages is unacceptable both as a health and safety matter but also on a personal security and safety point of view. We want to be free from being touched inappropriately but unavoidably. Feeling comfortable to travel by train and being safe is paramount. With the rise in mental health related issues in our society, these conditions are very difficult for some and may become a barrier to them accessing transport services that they need to live their lives - anxiety which could result in panic attack and also claustrophobia, to name a few. If anyone was take ill on such crowded services, no-one would be able to get to them or have space to help them.

  • More accessibility for Disabled people in Poole!
This is important because there are lots of disabled people in Poole, who have no mobility at all. They can not sit on a toilet, an need to be lifted out of their wheelchair to be changed. They are expected to be put on a dirty toilet floor to be changed which is not acceptable, let alone hygienic! This is neither safe for the disabled person, or the carer that is having to lift them in and out of their chair! I.e weight issues. Many families can not/ will not use certain places because there are no suitable changing facilities which is discrimination!
