• Replace grass monocultures with natural flora
Grass verges compound the difficulties facing British pollinators by removing a potentially valuable source of indigenous flora. Its maintenance places an unnecessary strain on already stretched local government budgets and creates an environmental non-entity in a space which might otherwise be a productive habitat for wildlife.

  • Houses of Parliment
The UK would enjoy money from the extra tourism, the relocating the Houses of Parliament would save a lot of tax payer money. The old Houses of Parliament would become a bigger tourist attraction giving money back to the tax payers pot and put towards better healthcare and looking after the elderly.

  • Theresa May: Don't visit President Trump
Donald Trump is consistently showing that he is unfit to be President of the USA. By going to visit him so quickly, you will be legitimising the words and actions of a very dangerous man. Going quickly makes you look so desperate for a post-Brexit deal, that you are willing to sacrifice morality. The so-called 'Special Relationship' needs to be put on hold, at least until Trump is gone. 100,000 people in London demanded it within 24 hours of his inauguration, together with tens of thousands in other UK cities and hundreds of thousands across the world.

  • Remove Licences to Registered Fox Hunts
In light of recent events, most notably that of an incident involving the Cury Hunt which led to an elderly couple and their dog being attacked by hounds on a Cornish beach, we ask that the National Trust revoke all licences given to Hunts to use their land. In regards to fox hunting, The National Trust state that "Following the Hunting Act of 2004 we grant licences for trail hunting, ie the following of an artificially laid scent, where this is compatible with local circumstances. However it is clear that the majority of hunts continue to hunt illegally under the guise of 'trail hunting'. An organisation that works for the conservation of wildlife and the safeguarding of nature should not stand by and allow their land to be used for illegal activities. • End All Hunting on National Trust Land
There is too much evidence that illegal hunting is taking place on National Trust Land. The National Trust should stop issuing licences to hunts unless all hunting activity on National Trust Land is independently monitored to ensure that no illegal hunting is taking place. That National Trust should be supporters and upholders of the law. 84% of the public to not want to see a repeal of the hunting act.

  • Stop the Closure of South West Community Hospitals
It's being recommended that four cottage hospitals - Dartmouth, Paignton, Ashburton and Bovey Tracey - in South Devon are to close. At a time when there is a shortage of hospital beds and lack of alternative care arrangements for patients ready for discharge from major hospitals in the South West this decision is perverse and needs to be challenged

  • Call to MPs from all sides to support Margaret Greenwood on 24 February
We call on MPs of all parties to attend the Commons on Friday morning, 24th February 2017 when Private Members' bills are debated and to support Mrs Margaret Greenwood MP for Wirral on her moving that the National Health Service she is promoting be read a second time. Last summer it was 'talked out' when MPs who objected to the Bill prevented by parliamentary procedures a vote which would have kept it alive. The Bill's importance lies in its aims: 1. to re-establish the Secretary of State for Health's legal duty as to the NHS in England 2. to make provision about the other duties of the Secretary of State in that regard 3. to make provision about the administration and accountability of the NHS in England 4. to repeal Section 1 of the NHS (Private Finance) Act 1997 and Sections 38 and 39 of the Immigration Act 2014, and Part 9 of the Health and Social Care Information Act 2012 It would end so much of the drive for the marketisation of the NHS. It would begin to give us back OUR NHS. Margaret Greenwood MP has taken over the promotion of the successor to the similar measure which was put forward two years ago by Caroline Lucas, MP for Brighton.

  • Camden Council - recognise non-wheelchair-bound disabled people for council tax reduction.
Disability has a massive financial impact on many disabled people - not only those who are wheelchair bound. Camden Council need to recognise this. In my case, being unable to work, having adaptations made to my home and living essentials, and having to be cared for around the clock did not make me eligible, simply because I do not use a wheelchair. This short-sighted and archaic view of disability has no place in the 21st Century.

  • Protect trade union secondments at Portsmouth City Council
Portsmouth City Council is proposing to slash the funding for trade union secondments, funds which release trade union representatives from their day jobs in order to represent members, offer guidance and negotiate on behalf of all Council staff. Portsmouth City Council is legally obliged to pay trade union reps for the time they spend representing the workforce, but properly funded secondments simplify arranging time off and cover. By slashing secondment funding the Council will increase costs, create long delays in resolving workplace issues and expose themselves to legal challenges. The trade unions themselves have offered to negotiate with the Council and put forward their own suggestions for reducing costs but these were rejected. It is a false economy as by removing from the budget the relatively small costs of providing the secondments, the Council will increase its overall expenditure. They will be exposed to costly Employment Tribunal and personal injury claims which would otherwise have been prevented through the guidance and involvement of seconded representatives; statutory formal procedures will take longer to complete as the Council fails to find trade union stewards available to participate; collective agreements formed by employer and trade unions on behalf of the staff, which benefit both the Council and the employees, will not be reached as trade union representatives are unlikely to be easily released by their local manager to work on these or get their existing work covered in their absence. At a time of unprecedented job losses in the public sector the Council wants to remove the protection, reassurance and independent advice that Council staff receive from their trade unions. Portsmouth City Council is one of the largest employers in the city, it needs it seconded trade union representatives to function. By signing this petition you can show your support for the Portsmouth City Council staff and their elected trade union representatives and help us fight this politically motivated attack by the Council.

  • Say No to 8am-8pm Parking Excess
Parking enforcement will have a field day - but residents, visitors, parents doing the school drop, faith groups and businesses will lose out. This 365 days a year of severe parking control is a money making venture by the council. Broad Green is over-built and this is causing congestion - the council is penalising residents when it is to blame.
