  • Ensure all disabled people will get help at railway stations anytime
Currently disabled people requiring assistance at UK railway stations must give 48 hours notice this is utterly discriminatroy. Whether more staff are required on trains or at stations, equal access to the railway is not just about platform access it is about what happens when one gets therein the 21st century rail customer service should apply equally to able and disabled people. One man operated trains will not help unless extra staff at stations are there to help wheelchair users and people with other disabilities. It is about the freedom of the disabled individual and simply taking on discrimination wherever it appears.

  • Apple, are you corrupt to the core?
The corporate world needs to be told that they profit from us plenty without needing to steal from us. As well as this petition, I suggest everybody goes into an apple shop and talk with the helpful sales staff about their products. Then ask them about the unpaid taxes and inform them you won't be buying anymore until THEIR company does the right thing. Each worker is a shareholder after all, so they have power and they are all profiting from the dodgy dealings.

  • Stop the wall being built in Calais
The cost of this wall is a devastating £17 million. This money would be far better spent on addressing the issues facing the desperate people you are trying to stop. Local residents in Calais are against the wall. The Road Haulage Association has said it is not a good use of taxpayers' money. A representative from Auberge des Migrants, an aid group working in Calais has said that building a wall will not achieve what it sets out to do anyway: people will still find a way round it but it will be more dangerous and possibly cause an increase in the price charged by people traffickers.

  • Find temporary housing for the homeless in Sheffield
Because no one deserves to be homeless. And given that it's soon going to be winter, it will make a rather bleak looking Christmas look slightly more cheerful.

  • Ban "Spit Masks"
These are barbaric devices are simply aimed at humiliating people. Regardless of what someone has been arrested for they should not be subjected to this level of humiliation. This is a link to a video showing how the Police used one of these masks on a young black lad. The use of these masks is absolutely disgusting and if it is allowed to continue who knows where such practices will end up? http://www.thecanary.co/2016/09/06/met-police-adds-new-weapon-collection-controversial-wont-use-public/

  • Adequate funding for our NHS
The NHS is a great British institution we should be very proud of, but is under so much financial pressure that, without additional investment, it is at risk of collapse. Let us send a message to the Government that the whole point of taxes is to fund necessary services, such as the NHS!

  • STOP Council Housing Benefit taking student loans into account as an income!
Currently if you are a university student and living in rented accommodation you can receive a maintenance loan. The councils in UK include this as an income when evaluating a housing benefit claim! I have also found out the even if you do not take out a maintenance loan the council includes it, so a student would have to take one out anyway. This is a loan to be paid back after graduation, not an income.

  • Support Daffodils Outdoor Nursery and Arthingworth Village
Daffodils Outdoor Nursery is a family run business which has just registered with Ofsted to provide childcare for children in the Arthingworth and surrounding areas. We are a unique nursery following an outdoor approach to learning and offering something different to families in the area. Someone has put in an application for permission to open a nursery directly opposite ours. It has come to our attention that a previous application for permission to build 27 houses was rejected, and that the change in application to incorporate a nursery is in fact a ploy to gain permission for a housing development. As a brand new business, we do obviously have concerns about the sustainability of two day nurseries in such a small village. But we also have concerns about the increased traffic more housing and another nursery will bring, as well as the change to the village that a large housing development will have. We urge you to please consider the application and the motives behind it, and to consider the detrimental affect it will have on not only us as small family run business that has not yet had a chance to establish itself, but on the beautiful village of Arthingworth as a whole.
