Protect Cresta pools futureThe Cresta pool is used by residents of Chard, Ilminster and surrounding villages, of all swimming ages and abilities. Swimming is now a key part of the National Curriculum, and the continual closures of the pool are threatening our children's ability to learn to swim - as well as the health and wellbeing of many other residents.622 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Tracy Slater

Keep the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in East SussexOn the 24th January, the ESCC Cabinet will be making the decision over whether to stop providing the DofE Award's Scheme in East Sussex. DofE provides an enjoyable and fun way for students from all backgrounds to do something new and get out into the countryside, in an era where there are many other distractions for young people. It is also a great way to get to know and make new friends, building social skills as well as practical ones through the multitude of different objectives participants must achieve in order to get their award. In the words of Cllr Nick Bennet, lead member of the council for Education and Inclusion, "I’ve always believed that the best way for young people to advance in life is not just through academic excellence but through developing broad life skills. Completing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award enables participants to develop new talents, meet new people and give something back to the community." The cost to run the scheme by the council is minimal, but the reward is monumental. It is for these reasons that the undersigned request that funding for the DofE Award Scheme is ensured for young people to come, not cut.6,520 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Manvell

Keep Holme View Care Home OpenHolme View is a specialist dementia care home, the staff are trained in dementia care and the home received a good grading in all areas after their latest inspection, July 2016. The residents are settled and happy and they receive a good quality of service with value for money. Change would be detrimental to their mental wellbeing. It's a very worrying time for family members, not knowing where our loved ones may end up and thinking that they will have to go through the upheaval of moving. My sister has only just settled there after months, she could not cope with another change. Understandably cuts have to be made these days but surely not with regard to people who are so vulnerable.2,496 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Sandy Higgins

The Right to Die With DignityCurrently the law forbids assisted dying . And people are being denied a choice . People are able to travel to Switzerland to Die at a minimum cost of £10,000 . Many people are being forced to suffer and wish to Die . The majority of people are discriminated against by not only not having a choice but not being able to afford to go to Switzerland.688 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Alexander Pandolfo

STOP funding cuts in English SchoolsThe latest proposed school funding formula will see the majority of schools, academies and free schools funding cut under using the spin that this will make the system fairer throughout England. In real terms cuts will mean teacher redundancies, larger class sizes, reduced choice and ultimately children having a poorer educational experience. The government will say that they are spending more money than ever before but school numbers are also larger than before with ever increasing pressure on school places nationally. More and equally distributed funding is required now. Please back this campaign to get the Department for Education to review this situation because of the groundswell of parents and Carers who give a damn about their child's education. Please help by signing and then sharing with you family and friends.415 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Ken Mitchell

MENTAL HEALTH PROVISION IN DERBYSHIREMental Health services are not only being cut but actually being closed down . As a long term sufferer of mental health conditions both as a client and as a volunteer the situation is untenable . The give just a few examples Due to funding cuts from Central Government Derby Steps Rethink Mental illness funding cuts DORA chesterfield to close March 2017 The Croft . Ripley Rethink (decision from CCG Jan 21st Red Cross Dementia Care/ MH Alfreton/Belper/ Ilkeston/ Long Eaton (been volunteer for seven years) Cease operations March 2017 MHAG mental Health Action Group (which covers Amber Valley) Sept 2017 Moneywise CAB in the community Amber Valley through Derby CAB for MH scrapped Amber Trust P3 / Ripley floating support cut from 2 years to 9 months etc Probably more to follow Where are people to go ? To interact in a safe environment etc ., See Derbyshire Healthwatch Report on Crisis Care just published. "There is a massive increase in admissions to A& E by mental health sufferers as I'm sure you have heard/seen on TV and Radio .. Surely by cutting these services it makes the situation worse ?"The Mental Health Action Group is led by people living with a mental health condition who rely on services in the community to help them stay well. At a time when the demand for mental health services has never been greater, vulnerable people are facing cuts in Derbyshire on an unprecedented scale. All manner of support services, money advice services, advocacy services, housing support services are being scaled down. It is dangerous to underestimate the cumulative effect of this on so many individuals and families. The gap between need and provision is widening all the time and people will disappear through that gap. How can we allow this to happen when the impact of mental illness has never been so well recognised nor the need to improve mental health care so well acknowledged?" supporting statement from the MENTAL HEALTH ACTION GROUP DERBY RESTORE THESE SERVICES NOW804 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Tony Fisher

Get rid of Atos AssesmentsI for one just had my P.I.P reduced and mobility taken away. I know of GENUINE people also, that have had this happen. When I called to make a mandatory appeal, TWICE I was told, the decision was made BEFORE any of my medical evidence, Occupational therapy report had even been received . The government wants to save money - yet within the space of a month , I had to go to TWO different assessments. People are taking their own lives because of these decisions . Why should they be allowed to play with peoples lives ??328 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Cath De Roos

Save our East centreOur local youth centre which has been helping young people since 1964 risks being sold off by the council. They have decided this without any consultation, and we’re campaigning to keep it open. I as a person who attends the east think it is very disappointing. There are many memories made in the east. The east has ran for 52 years, which my parents and many other of my friends parents have made many good memories here. The east puts a service for young people, where we can talk about sexual health, mental health, as well as holding many other things for young children such as boxing club, NCC and special needs services This building holds many memories and holds a service to young people which nowhere else offers. We’re making a stand and we’re showing the council our love for Prudhoe’s East centre. Please, if you can, sign this and help us save our east centre. Thank you.641 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Forster

Ban electric shock dog collarsIt has been illegal to sell electric shock dog collars in Wales and Northern Ireland since 2010. This is not only a barbaric way to train a dogs unwanted behaviour but grossly outdated. All the animal charities in the U.K. and the Kennel Club abhor this type of control. Victoria Stillwell a dog trainer of distinction on the television openly states her horror on using electric currents for control.73 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rosemary Fish
