Keep Children's Surgery and Anaesthesia Services at Barnsley HospitalWe feel this closure of our Children's Surgery and Anaesthesia Services at Barnsley Hospital will be detrimental to the health and well-being of our children - very ill children will have to travel long distances to other hospitals, inevitably putting them at greater risk. It will make it far more difficult for Barnsley parents to give crucial emotional support to their children in hospital. We think it is a money-saving exercise and not led by a pursuit of clinical excellence and the best interests of patients. It will have a damaging knock-on effect on other children's services at Barnsley Hospital and be one more step towards the down-grading of our local hospital.788 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Janet Williams

Save T in the ParkT in the Park is Scotland’s biggest festival of music. People travel from around the world to attend. It also generates jobs, puts money into the local economy and puts Scotland on the global map for music and culture. After being forced to move from its normal site in Balado, Kinross, organisers have had to go through so much red tape that next year’s festival has been called off.5,762 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Daniel beggan

Respecting Old PeopleAll of us, if we are very lucky, will be old someday. Brexit, and the American Presidential Campaign have brought out the worst in many people. The comments, and accusations, made about Old People are, at the very least, offensive and, though I dislike the word, they are certainly Ageist.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Arthur Sansam

Save Dover Soup KitchenThe Dover Soup Kitchen was founded by Steph Perrow in 1991, and their mission statement is that it is a resource for the homeless, vulnerable, elderly, lonely, and the needy. It provides free meals, hot drinks, clothes and bedding, and creates a sense of belonging and community. This soup kitchen helps many people every day without judgement or stigma it is a safe haven for many of the vulnerable in our town. It would be tragic if Dover lost this precious service especially in this age of austerity where more and more people are struggling, more people are losing their homes and many end up on the streets through no fault of their own. Please pledge your name to this petition so we can let DDC know that we will not stand for their actions and let's fight for those vulnerable people who cannot always make their voices heard. Thank you for reading.4,177 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Wadhams

Pay to Stay Council Rent IncreaseBecause the hard working families that claim no benefits and struggle to make ends meet are being targeted yet again and penalised for working. Currently the household earning limit for out of London is set to £31,000 per annum on this scheme. Many families will earn over this low amount, especially those that commute back into London. This is an unrealistic level. Many will be faced with a £260 a month increase - families that can't claim any other benefits are now being put into poverty.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Katie Martin

Reinstate South Elmsall Town Centre Partnership as Organisers of the South Elmsall Christmas EventAs one of the highlights of the community calendar in South Elmsall this event is very dear to the hearts of all members of our community. As such it is of vital importance that the execution of this is well planned by an experienced and dedicated team such as those who have made this event into what it has been until this year. It is clearly apparent that South Elmsall Town Council has been unable to replicate the success of previous years and have completely failed to justify their decision to hijack this event. As made clear by the name the South Elmsall Town Centre Partnership is an organisation with co-operation and collaboration at its core. It is independent of local government and is funded from a wide variety of sources, NOT just the pocket of the taxpayer. The South Elmsall Town Centre Partnership has an excellent relationship with a wide variety of entertainment providers as well as working closely with local businesses. In two decades of existence the South Elmsall Town Centre Partnership have built the annual Christmas Light switch-on into an annual triumph which attracts people from miles around and it is in the interests of everyone locally that they return to doing what they demonstrably do best. Let our village shine and lead through co-operation and collaboration with those who are willing to serve voluntarily, not domination of those that have been unfairly branded "unelected busybodies" by at least one of our elected officials.170 of 200 SignaturesCreated by David Allanach

STOP THE STP'S IN BIRMINGHAM & SOLIHULL!We have been campaigning for over three years now to save our local Hospital services, an issue we care about passionately. This is our third petition with 38 Degrees. The STP's for our area, Birmingham & Solihull , were published only recently and without any public consultation. They are ill thought out and dangerous. Lives will be put at risk. The plans will affect EVERYONE; young/ elderly/ expectant Mothers/ Carers/ those with disabilities/ Mental Health problems and also local Pharmacies. Also, the STP document doesn't seem to mention or explain that already more patients are being made to travel across our huge city to other Hospitals at a distance for even ROUTINE treatment and surgery (nor any of the practical, mental, emotional, financial implications of that); or whether that will continue with the inevitable consequences for patients and staff at local Hospitals. The impression being given, is that if these plans were in place, they would stimulate more cohesion between the NHS & Social/ Community Care, with more patients being treated at home/ in the community instead of their local Hospital. However, in reality, the Council haven't got the funding and don't know where they will get it from to actually implement such a scheme! They have of course at this time, been starved of funding, but past mismanagement of funds (ie wastage of public money) has been happening for years, whoever has been in power in that time to cause it. Despite that, they still want to force these plans onto the public, with all of their very serious implications, including paving the way for PRIVATISATION of essential local services. And what happens if people won't be able to pay for those services? A return to the `Hard Times'' of the Victorian era. Although some of those responsible for these plans are claiming they are `the only game in town', we do NOT believe that is true, as other Councils in England have publicly and strongly opposed their STP's, refusing to sign them off, thus showing they really care about their constituents. We would therefore like to ask the Birmingham & Solihull Health Scrutiny Committee, to show that they also care about their constituents/ patients and do the same, by telling Birmingham City Council (who are leading these plans, working with NHS England) , that they will NOT BE APPROVING the STP's. The committee is made up of Councillors from ALL Main Parties & from a variety of local areas and so the responsibility falls on all of them; that is, it is not just on one Main Party.48 of 100 SignaturesCreated by good hope hospital save good hope's local services

Minimum wage for all citizensIn a democracy it is understood as a basic and foundational principle that every citizen should be treated with the same fairness and equality and held responsible under law for their actions.Every 18 year old citizen should be payed the same Minimum wage as any 21 year old citizen. Historically the right to no taxation without representation was won and achieved by British democracy. It follows that every citizen should be under the same law and rule. This is patently not so when under 21 year old citizens are treated unfairly by being paid a lower rate of pay. This discrimination goes against the established principle of fairness and equality for all citizens in a democratic society. A democratic society when it fails to treat it's citizens is failing in its duty to uphold democratic principles. It is important that Parliament upholds this basic right.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Paul Dodds

Intervene in the humanitarian crisis destroying Aleppo and the people of SyriaDear Rt Hon. Theresa May MP, The history of Great Britain is long, proud, complex and oftentimes highly controversial. There are many times when we have stood on the right side of history, the honourable side of history and many times where we have stood on the wrong, shameful side of history. As you are very well aware, at this very moment, Assad's forces, backed by Russia, are systematically destroying the city of Aleppo and have pledged to 'annihilate' any surviving civilians. Schools and hospitals are military targets and untold numbers of War Crimes against Humanity are being committed on a daily basis. People are suffering as greatly as the Jews in 1930s-1945 Germany and yet when they flee we keep them in unsanitary camps and build fences to keep them out of our country. How can we stand back and let the continued destruction continue? What side of history are we standing on now? We implore you to use this country's military force for good, we ask for a military intervention with troops on the ground and anti-aircraft defences to enable UN aid agencies and international charities to set up medical shelter, to play a role in stabilising and bringing humanity back to this war stricken territory. Mobilising military forces has very rarely been a way of achieving peace but this genuinely seems to be a situation with no other option; a force of evil is wrecking a people and surely it is our humanitarian responsibility to exercise our powerful ability to step in and say 'No more'.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alexander Dryden

George Medal for Jo Cox MPJo Cox devoted her life to helping the vulnerable, and died attempting to protect the unarmed from a murderer. I believe that this exemplary behaviour warrants recognition at a high level in line with other similar acts of bravery regardless of personal cost.1,335 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Rob Morrison

Save Our Sea: Protect the Wildlife of Cardigan BayCardigan Bay provides a home for many species of vulnerable marine life, some species such as the Atlantic grey seal are internationally important. From the reefs and sandbanks, small organisms in the benthos, to the largest population of breeding bottlenose dolphins in the UK, the complex biodiversity of this Bay is what makes it special. We feel that opening up this area to commercial scallop dredging would be detrimental to the ecosystem and significantly impact not only Welsh marine biodiversity but the lives of the local people who depend on the Bay for income, livelihood, and enjoyment. Mae Bae Ceredigion yn gartref i nifer o rywogaethau o fywyd morol bregus, rhai ohonynt – megis morlo llwyd yr Iwerydd – o bwys rhyngwladol.
