• Natural State Food Labelling - You are what you eat.
The health state of the food we eat directly influences the health state of the consumer. We have the right to the meat equivalent of ingredients labelling on meat products. The quality of life of the meat animals is also of concern to many consumers and we have the right of choice as to which animals' meat we consume.

  • Stop the TPP and TISA entering the UK by the back door
The TPP and TISA will give multinational companies powers which are above the Law. Many people voted to get out of Europe because they agreed with Labour veteran Tony Benn and wanted to stop this agreement in its tracks. There has been very little media coverage of agreements like this which gives corporate entities huge legal powers. Open and honest discussion is essential and long overdue.

  • Prevent Cement Batching at Alltgoch Quarry, Cwrtnewydd
Cement batching can cause harmful emissions. Whilst we understand that every effort is being made to reduce the risk, the plant is extremely close to the village of Cwrtnewydd and an error could easily lead to the harmful emissions entering the air. Not only that, the lorries travelling to the quarry are already causing a hazard on the narrow lanes, therefore adding to that traffic will exacerbate the situation.

  • Save Our RBS Branch
Shotts Royal Bank of Scotland Branch has been part of the high Street for over forty years, now it is due for closure in August which will cause hardship and inconvenience for many people. This is happening less than 2 years after the Airdrie Savings Bank closed. The alternatives given for bank transactions are the Post Office , which is hard pushed dealing with its own matters, to travelling to Wishaw or Whitburn branches, which will mean expensive bus fares for the majority of people. Now Shotts high street is reduced to an increasing string of fast food outlets, which is very sad. Please sign this petition and share.

  • Tesco: Keep Irish food on the shelves
The Irish Post has reported that Tesco plans to do away with Irish food sections at 200 of its stores, and cut the number of specialist Irish food products available from 58 down to fewer than ten: http://irishpost.co.uk/tesco-remove-irish-food-section-200-british-stores/ For many of the hundreds of thousands of Irish-born people living in Britain, being able to access a taste of home can be very important. Whether it's Tayto, Club Orange, Barry's Tea, Clonakilty pudding or barm brack, Irish food can provide a link to home and family. Tesco is planning to close the specialist Irish food sections at 200 of its stores from July. It has already halved its Irish product range from around 160 down to 58, and is now going to cut this even further to around ten of the most popular products. These will also be added into the mainstream range, making them harder to find in supermarkets. With Tesco removing these products, they'll be much harder to source and will be missed by people who no longer have access to them.

  • Stop Fat Cats ripping off Fans
For many years there has been a legitimate but virtually uncontrolled trade in tickets for entertainment and sporting events. Event tickets are purchased at face value by individuals and companies with no desire to attend. They are then sold on at hugely inflated prices, often many hundreds of pounds above the face value, without the original purchaser adding any value what so ever. Or they sell the ticket as part of a package, perhaps including travel and accommodation, at a ridiculously inflated price, because it includes event tickets. This practice is immoral, these people/companies contribute nothing but take as much as they can possibly get and, in so doing, deny ordinary fans the joy of attending a live event.

  • Save woodlands in Brighton And Hove.
Woodland conservation is important to save our woodland and save animals habitats also it will help our atmosphere get rid of CO2. For this reason, it would be particularly effective to plant more trees in high-pollution areas such as Preston Circus and Lewes Road.

  • End Dodgy Corporate Tax Arrangements - Pay To Play!!
Shortfalls in taxation (I.e.the funding for public services) is directly attributable to the global tax policies of companies who think HOW they trade doesn't matter. We should not accept tax dodging as an inevitable consequence of free trade. Director and shareholder behaviour will only change when transglobals realise these aggressive and anticompetitive policies are unsustainable. Moving, with immediate notice, to 'name and shame' will help consumers to make informed choices in future, and will cost offending transglobals both new and loyal customers as well as their reputation with shareholders and markets. If shareholders cannot create ethical and sustainable policies on their own account, they will have to be encouraged by Governments to do so. As Government is aware, the EU The Anti Tax Avoidance Directive sets out a comprehensive framework of anti-abuse measures, containing five legally-binding anti-abuse measures, which all Member States should apply against common forms of aggressive tax planning. This includes measures to deter profit shifting to a 'low / no' tax country, to prevent double 'non-taxation' of certain income, to prevent companies from avoiding tax when 're-locating' assets, to discourage artificial debt arrangements designed to minimise taxes and the additional safeguard of the anti-abuse rule designed to counteract aggressive tax planning. As an absolute minimum measure today, Government should immediately escalate a 'name and shame' policy to encourage consumers to be aware, so consumers can use alternative brands or local companies who fairly pay taxes in markets they sell to. With Liam Fox looking to resurrect a new version of the dreadful TTIP or dubious CETA with the US, involving potentially highly contentious ISDS, we should demand to know why so many huge US companies play on this kind of uneven tax playing field, as well as make it clear that this is a global problem which individual nation states ARE willing to take on, in order to protect local competition and essential services for UK citizens. UK Government should take a lead in saying we welcome trade and business, but not at any price. Pay to play!! Irrespective of the status of Brexi by 2019, the UK MUST ensure that it applies the EU Anti Tax Avoiance measure from 1 January 2019 ,which provide the minimum level of protection against corporate tax avoidance throughout the EU, while ensuring a fairer and more stable environment collectively for UK and European businesses in competition with transglobals brands. In doing this, Government will need to distance itself from the antidemocratic influence of the far right press, as their vested interests are in continued tax avoidance loopholes, irrespective of whether their owners are British citizens, foreign born or foreign domiciled. The first priority must be to protect British companies and British public services.

  • Kraft should remove the name 'Cadbury' from their chocolate products
Cadbury was a man who cared for his workers, by building them houses, whereas Kraft has made a lot of people redundant in the UK. The chocolate isn't the same as it was before Kraft bought it, therefore the name is a deception and should be removed.

  • #optmeoutoflocation tracking by the mobile and Wi-Fi operators
A location history of your movements for the last year or more is incredibly insightful. Location data can show your sex, your approx age, your home and work addresses, where your children go to school, whether you are ill or becoming ill, how affluent you are (or how much poorer you are becoming), who your friends and family are (or were), your sexual orientation, how fast you drive, your personal preferences and lifestyle and much more. Worse - you really don't know who this data is being sold to or what for. To learn more and how to opt out go to www.optmeoutoflocation.com and sign our petition asking the UK ICO (Information Commissioners Office) to make the mobile and Wi-Fi operators ask our consent before they take and use this data.
