Extra bus route needed for Noak BridgeRoute 100 is very prone to delays as the route from end to end can take from 1 hour and 30 minutes to sometimes over 2 hours. Because if the route it takes it can get caught up in traffic which runs via the A13 and A127 which can have frequent accidents. Other areas of Basildon such as Pitsea and Laindon have 3 buses or more that serve their respected areas. Noak Bridge needs reliable bus routes as it is not served by trains and taxi fares can be quite expensive to travel into central Basildon or Basildon Hospital or any other surrounding area. Route 10 runs every 2 hours from 8am to 6pm. This is not adequate for an area which has a lot of elderly residents and it does not serve the area directly but only passes the outskirts of the area. First Essex Buses do have a reputation for being unreliable and have been known to cancel routes or not provide alternative solutions. I’m not expecting a London Bus style overhaul where we have buses running frequently at all times of day and night during the week but I feel that we would need a definite solution to the problem that myself and many other residents would very much welcome.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mike Jones

Allow wheelchair accessible vehicles into rubbish and recycling centresI am a wheelchair user myself and my vehicle is 3.5 ton and lately I have had a lot of rubbish and I have needed to go to the recycling centre but as the rules are in Shropshire, I cannot because my vehicle is over the weight limit. I have recently had a phone call with Telford and Wrekin Council and I was trying to prove the point that it is discriminating against disabled people to not allow them into the recycling centres when most disabled people’s vehicles are over 3.5ton. There is such thing as an equality act, and so I believe, that means everything is meant to be equal, clearly in this case it is not equal and it is not fair that disabled people are not allowed to go to the recycling centres due to the weight of their vehicles. The weight of the vehicles is also heavily added to due to adaptations for most people due to lifts or ramps and other equipment. As we all know disabled people such as myself would not choose to have the conditions we have, and live our lives this way. The government and local councils do not understand how hard it is for disabled people to be as independent as possible and by taking our rubbish to a recycling centre we are able to support ourselves. So please, please may you all support this campaign and sign this petition because like most disabled people, I need to get to the recycling plants to get rid of my rubbish.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Corey Haseley

Save Swanley Age Concern Charity Shop From Closure RACDVOur successful charity shop is the only visible support in the Swanley area for the elderly and sells really useful clothes and goods at low prices to help those in need in our community. We also have a 5-day a week walk in advice and information service and we help in tackling isolation and loneliness for the elderly in our community. It has also helped older volunteers gain the confidence to get back into other employment. The shop is profitable so us volunteers are at a complete loss as to why the trustees are closing it and want them to reverse their decision to fulfil their remit as trustees and in the best interests of the elderly in our area.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dave Sherlock

Extend VAT exemption for elderly/disabled peoples' domestic help in their homesMost personal care companies don't want to do domestic care and vice versa. The two services are very different but, both essential to the elderly/disabled. Elderly people should not have to be taxed on a service which enables them to remain independently in their homes9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Phillip Irving

Calling for a new UK bank holiday to celebrate under 25sAt The Mix, we know that under 25s are extremely talented, and care passionately about the world around them. We are privileged, through our work, to witness first-hand the strength and resilience of young people every day. It's important that as a society we embrace young people from all backgrounds, and nurture their potential as ultimately, they are the future of our country. Often the media narrative around young people can be very negative, focusing on crime, unemployment, or unattainable housing. We hope that a dedicated bank holiday will help to change the narrative around Generation Z into a positive one - STRONG and RESILIENT. In 2018, International Youth Day will come of age and celebrate its 18th anniversary. At The Mix we believe this anniversary is the perfect time to show our appreciation to the youngest members of our society. This petition is part of The Mix's #Stronger campaign, which aims to give under 25s the platform to tell their story and not be defined by mainstream media. MRI screeningPeople are having to fly hundreds of miles for an mri scan. Many people have suffered injuries and should not have to travel so far, especially as there are 2 mri machines in Raigmore hospital. Some people are not allowed to fly because of insurance purposes and a 9 hour journey by ferry then car/public transport is long. From my own experience I was told I wouldn’t be allowed on the plane as I could not bend my knee so my only other option was the ferry. I was really struggling with pain and there was no way I could spend that amount of time in a car, especially as I was struggling with really bad pain after being in the car for 20 minutes. It is unfair to ask patients to travel so far for a diagnosis. Some of the poorest countries in the world have far more advanced technology than the uk which doesn’t seem right. The cost of nhswi paying for flights for patients is ridiculous too, I know people go away for other things but surely having their own mri scanner would save them money in the long term.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ann Marie Macleod

Local Post Office, Chiswick StationThe large retail and service operators like the Coop and the Post Office often seem to put profit maximisation ahead of convenience and service. The Coop claims to support communities and sustainability but if it does not maintain the existing Post Office in its new local store then it is not living up to what it claims is seeks to be. On the other hand the Post Office seems to want to make us only use big, centralised facilities which are souless, often not conveniently located ( particularly for the elderly) and usually very busy with long queues. It is time see some corporate common sense and reflection of community values and thus halt this relentless consolidation.123 of 200 SignaturesCreated by David Kerr

Commit to a full move out of Westminster during renovations. To not move MPs and Lords out of Westminster would be a gross misuse of taxpayer finance at a time when the budget remains constrained. Not doing so would arbitrarily add 2 billion to the cost of renovations for no compelling reason. Additionally, the government should commit to the full scope of redevelopment of the palace of Westminster. Including the provisions for additional public, corporate and educational spaces listed on pages 73 and through 75 of the "Restoration and Renewal of the Palace of Westminster" report. Such provision would assist both in revenue and tourism as well as helping to educate people in the workings of our government and allow it to feel less removed.
