Traffic calming and a pedestrian crossing on b3298 CarharrackThe majority of the children from Carharrack have to cross this road to walk to school and the speeds that cars travel makes this a lethal route, we encourage children to walk to school, get out more etc but if we can't make the routes safe then how can we expect parents to feel confident in doing this? The junction at the bottom of the hill has had numerous accidents mainly caused through speeding and until the speed is brought under control these accidents will unfortunately continue to happen, do we have to wait until there is another fatality? No let's get together and act now to make our village safer for us all264 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Nicki Isaacs

Make Cardiff plastic straw free36.4 billion plastic straws are discarded in the EU annually damaging wildlife, water quality and entering our food chain. The Welsh government led the way on the plastic bag carrier charge, and we want them to do the same with single use plastic straws. Such a small change will make a huge impact on our environment and make Cardiff a greener, cleaner and more sustainable place to live.80 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nia Jones

Heritage Trail for village of Bridgtown, Cannock, StaffordshireIn the 1970's, a plan was devised to get rid of the core of the domestic side of the village. It was to become an Industry only area. The people who lived on village thought this unfair as they had grown into a viable community. They fought for, and won the argument, The village is fast changing from and Industrial to a domestic landscape and people should know of its Industrial past, the importance of which covers worldwide sales. Its edge tools are still in use and respected throughout the world. Names like William Gilpin and Cornelius Whitehouse Hedgehog tool works. Other tool works included Elliot Lucas hand tools and Whitehouse Brothers. Bricks & Tiles were also made in Bridgtown by Hawkins, Rosemary and Haunchwood Lewis, all of which had a nationwide clientele. More recently Manufactories such as Lucas Automotive Electrical, Schraders valves, GKN Sankey had premises in the village. Now we have Finning (Caterpiller) heavy construction plant and Gestamp - both international manufacturers. Now, some of those sites are being turned into housing developments and smaller industrial units and the Bridgtown & District Local History Society wants to tell the story of this short lived but important village through research and archiving and tell everyone who wishes to know how this place developed through the Industrial revolution in the 1860s to the present day. We already have 3 boards in situ (with the kind backing of the developers, Parish , District and County councils and benefactors from the local community) but now we require funds to complete the task. We are not a large village and the Society is small but we have already shown our dedication to our cause and would like to see it through for the community past and present. This will give the village a standing in the area it deserves.55 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Brevitt

All packaging to be labellled as recyclable or non-recyclable, using universally accepted logosThe majority of items contain packaging of some sort. Often packaging is not labelled as to whether the material is recyclable or non-recyclable. Recycling quotas could be much improved if all manufacturers were made (possibly by law) to state on the packaging if the material is recyclable or not. As a consumer I am often confused when unloading and removing packaging from my weekly shop as to which bin to use, so if in doubt I put in the waste bin. In addition currently there are over 44 different Recycle logos used (see Above) which adds to the confusion, as some are clearer than others. Even if the manufacturer does state on the packaging, it is mostly in very small print on the back of the package and takes a while to determine. The agreed universal logo should be clearly marked in bold on the front or back of the item (preferably in the same place i.e. front bottom right hand corner) just as the notice used on many large plastic bags regarding making people aware of risk of children suffocating.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kathy Fox

Introduce a plastic usage charge to all companies/retailers.More than 8 million tonnes of plastic are dumped into our oceans every year. Packaging is the largest end use market segment accounting for just over 40% of total plastic usage. There has been a plastic bag charge introduced for consumers to encourage us to use less plastic bags. But who is encouraging the supermarkets/companies/retailers to use less plastic? “Not only are plastics pervasive in our society in terms of daily use, but they are pervasive in the environment,” said Sherri Mason, a professor at the State University of New York at Fredonia, who led the latest research into plastic contamination in salt. Plastics are “ubiquitous, in the air, water, the seafood we eat, the beer we drink, the salt we use – plastics are just everywhere”. We need to discourage the use of plastic wherever possible.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christy Miles

Ban Plastic StrawsPlastic straws, which are thrown away after one use, are non-biodegradable. This means that they pollute our oceans and harm our animals. We need to save our sea life, and stop innocent animals being killed every day due to pollution. I believe that they should be changed from plastic to paper (cardboard) or metal straws, which are so better for the environment.46 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Elodie Wild

Plastic reduction in supermarketsThe oceans are already choked with plastic and by 2050 , there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This could mean starvation to many people and countries that depend on the ocean to survive. This is the sort of environment that breeds conflict and war, thus causing more pollution. I have 5 grandchildren who will be part of this polluted world along with billions of others. We have no need to worry about world war three, as pollution will eradicate the population before , if we don't take action now. If we target supermarkets like Asda, then we can pressurise them into making a difference.78 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nicholas Perry

Save Heysham Swimming Pool.Cllr Margaret Pattison, Cllr Janice Hanson, Cllr Darren Clifford and Cllr David Whittaker are very concerned with living in a seaside area such as Morecambe and Heysham that children should have a local pool to learn to swim. The pool has 54.000 visitors a year with 16 schools using the pool for swimming lessons and groups helping people to keep fit and healthy, if closed this would effect the health and safety of the people in Morecambe.1,066 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Cllr Margaret Pattison.

Referendum on the final terms on which the UK will leave the European UnionThe EU referendum represented a low point in post war UK democratic politics. Only now are problems coming to the fore that were not considered in the referendum and not debated at the time. Oeople did not know the consequences of them and Brexit impact reports are being unacceptably hidden from the people. This is unacceptable and we need a final decision when we know exactly what Brexit means and that means the full terms of an any deal.79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Roman Haluszczak

Make self-serve plastic bags compostableSupermarkets provide an enormous number of plastic bags every day for people to buy fruit, vegetables and bakery items. Most of these bags are binned as soon as the items have been used. Most of these bags are also very slow to degrade (e.g. https://www.plasticoceans.org). This situation can easily be made better if supermarkets provide shoppers with biodegradable bags instead.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dan Lloyd

Carbon labels on supermarket foodstuffsSimilar to Reference intakes which you see on food in the supermarket, this would allow for more consumer choice. In this instance it would allow for consumer choice when it comes to the carbon footprint of you diet. It is also really important in helping to inspire and motivate retailers to worry about the carbon footprint of their produce. For example ,if it becomes clear that UK people (when supplied with enough information) will prefer local produce over 'larger' or 'better looking' international produce which come with huge airmiles and carbon footprints - then this will motivate supermarkets to act on this. Clearly the UK has issues related to our carbon footprint and related global warming outcomes. This is compounded when linked to the issue of food waste.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Liam Pryle
