  • Protect all our Ancient Woodlands and Rare Habitats for the People and Nation
Such rare habitats exist where they are, and nowhere else in our country and the world: we must set an example that we know how to look after our natural Crown Jewels, and so start to show the rest of the world how to look after our planet. Our Ancient Woodlands amount to only 2% of our total habitat area, and yet are threatened by "white elephant" schemes such as HS2 and the Arundel A27 Bypass. 27 Ancient, historic, and nationally important trees are threatened by the HS2 scheme. As well as protecting rare flora and fauna only found in those locations, as well as habitat conditions only also found in these locations, they also bring a lot of pleasure and health benefits to people who get out to enjoy our valuable natural heritage.

  • Ban dogs from the playing field (next to the school) - Chudleigh
The green space next to Fore Street Play Park is used by school children throughout the day as well as for recreational use outside of school hours. But the dog mess left on the grass is a constant problem despite it being an area regularly patrolled by the Dog Warden and covered by CCTV. Unfortunately bins and notices fail to make any difference - the people who allow this to happen, do not care. Dog mess carries incredibly toxic bacteria which among other things can cause blindness. To have this space dog free would allow children to play freely without the constant worry of stepping in/falling in dog mess. There are many places dog owners can go to exercise their dogs without using this space. It would not be detrimental to the town, considering the fact that Chudleigh is surrounded by green space, all within a few minutes walk from any where in the town.

  • Better cycle storage for Canonbury
There are currently no secure cycle storage facilities in Canonbury, despite huge numbers of cyclists in the area. Bikehangars aren't expensive, only take up half a car parking space, and each provides secure, covered storage for six bicycles. For every one car space, 12 cyclists could be provided with storage. A recent consultation on the placement of additonal bikehangars in Islington led to plans for 18 new bikehangars, but all are in the north of the borough, with a third of them placed across 4 adjoining streets in Upper Holloway. The nearest proposed bikehangar to the Essex Road area is a mile away. Islington prides itself on being a green borough and supporting cyclists benefits everyone - reducing traffic, noise and pollution and encouraging healthy lifestyles. The Council needs to represent the interests of residents in all areas of the borough, not just the north section. As more people cycle, the borough will become cleaner, greener and healthier. With better cycle storage, everyone benefits!

  • Ban small clear plastic bags used for fruit and veg
We know that plastic takes years to breakdown in the environment and can be confused as food by animals such as turtles, whales and birds. Single use bags are a crime against nature, and these small clear bags are such a waste that can be replaced easily with recycled and recyclable paper bags.

  • Pumping Station
At present surface water runs into east marsh drain which serve most of Immingham and surrounding villages, when we have a high tide the sluice gates which are located on Immingham docks are closed and the surface can not escape, And this causes the water to build up and ventuly causes flooding in the town, By building a pumping station on the dock this would allow the water to be pumped 24/7 into the Humber and would stop flooding and with all this proposed development of new houses in Immingham this is vital this done

  • STOP Windy Corner Road works - Galmpton Common
This is important as Torbay Council have a record of road works which have destroyed large scenic areas of Torbay without bringing any improvement to traffic flow and merely moving the traffic further up the road. The council has made no suggestion to reduce car numbers, create safe crossing for children at the common or to make a better path for them to walk. Out of season School traffic is the biggest contributer to increased traffic. This has been ignored in this proposal. Just as important the council has kept details of this out of the public eye without informing residents who will be affected , hoping to pass this without objection as residents have been made kept in the dark.
