• Council excessive charging
Recent figures show that the councils are making excessive money; Figures from the RAC revealed councils in England made a combined £667m profit from parking fines last year. In an economic state where: Children are going to school hungry, while some parents are going for days without eating in order to feed them, according to a charity. The Trussell Trust is calling for a public inquiry into the reasons behind a surge in the use of food banks. How can we stay quiet and let the councils attack us, we need to challenge the councils on the following matters: 1) Excessive penalty means no difference of lesson taught 2) Councils using nasty bailiffs and debt collection agencies to extract money 3) Figure to state where the money is being spent 4) The councils must ensure that they are not Breach of contract Law Reform (Frustrated Contracts) Act, 1943 section 3, Misrepresentation Act 1967 section 2, Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 5) That they are not breaching Human rights Act Article 5,6,7,8,11,12 6) The council is acting within Taking control of goods, national standards 2014 Paragraph 66 (relates to excessive levy) 7) That all road marking on public highway comply with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 8) The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 Part 2 Regulation 9 is not being breached We need to unite and regain control while the economy of this country is suffering and while some parents are going without food just to pay rent / mortgage and their bills. The councils are making excessive profits of millions why because we are letting them, by signing this campaign we can start to make a change !

  • Defend Private Tenants in Tower Hamlets
Tower Hamlets has the fourth most expensive private rents in the country. But if you live here, you live amongst one of the poorest populations in the UK. The cost of housing is forcing working class people out of the borough. Landlords - including so-called social Landlords - are looking to make a fast buck, some have resorted to driving out existing tenants. We pledge to defend tenants against eviction. Tower Hamlets' housing crisis continues with 20,000 on the council waiting list 8,000 of whom live in accommodation unfit for habitation. This is forcing many, particularly young people, out of the borough.

  • protect our natural world form further harm
John Swinney promised his would be the 'greenest government ever'. Yet he's come out in clear support of fracking, a new way of extracting yet more dirty fossil fuels, just when the UK should be leading the world in moving to clean renewable power. I call on John Swinney to focus on clean, safe and renewable energy solutions instead. I call on you all to reconsider your position on hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, immediately and instead champion energy sources which do not risk our global climate, local environment or our health. in the parish of Airth ( Letham) 7 people i know have bowel cancer i lady aged 86 ( my mother in law) died of it in 2010 my ex husband + 1 living in Letham have skin cancer , an have both had 3 opeartiontoremove living tissue numerous people living and working in Letham have kidney cancer and other ailments the govt insisted at Aorth Castle last week that they could issues CPOs to the local farmers this is not a greener Scotland this is a death sentence Signed, Sonia McLay

  • New Look For Admiralty Square / Pepys Estate
Local residents, particularly the hundreds whose homes overlook Admiralty Square, rarely get to enjoy this green space. There is nothing attractive about it. It is made even less appealing by the frequent dogs taken there to foul (who sometimes fight). It is not considered by local residents as clean nor safe nor likeable. A traditional and historic London square such as this, is somewhere that should be embraced, nurtured and shared by the community - not forgotten, neglected and avoided.

  • Stop Fracking: Tom Clarke
Horizontal hydraulic fracturing, ‘fracking’, is a way of extracting oil and/or gas. Water, sand and toxic chemicals are injected at high pressure into underground rocks to shatter them. This releases the gas/oil which can be collected. But investing in carbon-intensive fossil fuels is a distraction from the need to decarbonise our electricity supply. And it's hazardous. Studies show that fracking pollutes water supplies (with arsenic and lead), causes earthquakes, and spoils local communities. And there are nightmare stories coming form the States. Like in the town of Dimock, PA, residents have reported their water turning so brown that it stains crockery. Their water was later found to contain methane, and a host of toxic chemicals. But it gets worse. "My son had sores up and down his legs from the water." " My daughter... would have to get out the of the shower and lay on the floor." Those are the words from Greg Saunter, a local resident, whose water supply was shut off for his own good. He cannot shower in his own home. Or drink water out of his taps. Fracking has ruined his life. It cannot happen here. We call on the council to preserve the quality of life of its residents, and reject all planning applications for fracking.

  • Stop Fracking in Scotland. Keep our landscape clean and fresh!
Fracking ruins our landscape or water and our farms. We do not benefit at all from this action which our prime minister had allowed right after our referendum. He has sold the land under your feet. The land we pay taxes on. This is our heritage and it is going to be destroyed. Help us stop Fracking NOW. They have our oil what more do they want? Protect your future and our kids future! We don't want contaminated Air, water or land animals. We love our fresh council water! We don't want lower life expectancy.

  • A NEW MILK MARKETING BOARD
Most milk production and milk products stay within the UK, so the price of milk should reflect the cost of production within the uk. And in doing so ensure the viability of the dairy industries which are hugely important for the long term success of the UK economy and the countryside.

  • We say NO to TESCO Express at Prettygate, Colchester
The planning officer originally made a mistake in allowing the amendment through without having the authority. He then over-turned it but was over-ruled by the Chief Executive. This has opened the door to TESCO to open a TESCO Express 100 yards from an existing local CO-OP without any public say on the matter. Over 500 people have signed a petition already and we want to recruit more supporters. Many have said they would like to sign a petition online, hence this campaign. If you have signed the paper copy you don't need to sign this one as both will be presented to the Council in due course. Please spread the word via social media.

  • Traffic calming in Woodmansterne
Letter sent to MP: I write to you requesting your urgent attention on the untenable traffic situation in Carshalton Road which is becoming virtually impossible to access my stables without fear of accident. We raised this issue in 2010, yet it was deemed not dangerous enough to warrant action given that nobody had been killed. This I found to be completely unacceptable and I have had no other option than taking this matter further again giving how significantly worse the situation has become. To ignore it, and literally wait for an accident to happen would be neglectful and irresponisble. I do not wish to have it on my conscience that I had not done all that I could to protect the safety of myself, my animals and others should a serious accident occur. I would therefore strongly urge you to challenge the previous response I received and argue that nobody should have to die unnecessarily on this road before action is taken. Cars and Lorries consistently exceed speed limits and do not adhere to legal Highway Code requirements by giving no consideration to riders, pedestrians, animals or other traffic. In the past month one of my horses, whilst being ridden by myself, was hit by a car yet the driver did not stop and just continued to drive. Fortunately my horse was fine but I fell and had significant bruising to my thigh and my GP told me that I was lucky not to have been seriously injured. Within the same week, I also witnessed on one occassion school children almost being knocked over, despite them wearing high visibility jackets and being carefully escorted by their school teacher. These are not an isolated incidents and in fact dangerous driving has now become the norm. Other tenants at my stables have been forced to relocate their animals as they can no longer tolerate the situation. They and myself, sadly now feel unable to take our horses out for a ride and enjoy the beautiful green belt that we are fortunate to have on our doorstep, for fear of being killed. My view is shared by many other residents, land owners and tenants on Carshalton Road and we all feel that we are being left vulnerable and in grave danger. I would be extremely grateful for a response and advice as to how we can resolve this dangerous situation. You and your colleagues would be more than welcome to visit my stables and witness the situation for yourselves should you require it. Looking forward to receiving your response. King regards, Miss Jacqueline Cooksey
