Re: jct A23/Rocky Lane The junction of Rocky Lane and the A23 is one big giant accident waiting to happen every single morning. We have to travel it 6 days a week to get to RAA. Rocky Lane is way too narrow for the kind of traffic and the amount of traffic that travel up and down it. You have a primary school near the junction which makes the junction extra busy and you even get kids crossing the street from the bus stop! There are potholes along the side of the entrance which are very bad. Making a right is very difficult on the A23 from Rocky Lane especially with traffic turning in front of you to enter. You end up having a tailback going halfway up Rocky Lane which is just a lot of pollution. It terrifies me to drive it like no other road I’ve experienced. It feels some temporary lights there that work at peak hours or actually move the existing lights back to include Rocky Lane might help. It is unfortunate RAA doesn’t have an additional entrance/exit onto Gatton Park Road. This would make the school so much better and not the cause of such potential danger. It takes me 40 minutes for a school run of 5 miles in total.

This is important as people speed down this road and it is a main road the kids cross before and after school. This year alone 2 members off my family have been run over on this road. It is extremely busy and needs to safer.

I feel this will discourage local residents from shopping locally at a time when the town needs it most as well as cause congestion from reckless parking.

The nearest subways are in Hazel Grove (8 Miles) and Glossop (8 Miles), and the one in Buxton recently closed. There are very few shops similar to Subway in New Mills. The nearest greggs are in Buxton (12 Miles), Marple (4 Miles) or Glossop (8 Miles). It would be understandable that Greggs might not want a store in the main town centre, due to local bakeries, but one on the A6 would be highly successful

We were not informed Northern power grid were building a substation right in front of my house about 13 feet away.blocking my driveway. I'm worried about health. Noise we have lost the sale of our home. Other people have walked away as they do not want to buy a home with a substation in front of it. They are also building more house and a road through a field which is home to much wildlife ect The Duke of Northumberland has caused most and many of the problems up in Northumberland . I stand correct Duke the property developer. home is in Beadnell. Northumberland.

New road changes will cause road blocking. Dangerous for other road users. Seriously affect taxi drivers income. Buses will have to reverse into road to get out of parking bays. Dangerous for pedestrians crossing road.

It is a valuable business asset and I have used it to trade from selling ice creams, drinks and in the winter months waffles and crepes also since 2018. During the current pandemic it is providing my sole income. The Tea Room is closed due to logistical issues whereby it is not possible to trade safely due to government restrictions. If I am forced to remove the hut I will be forced out of business. It is simple as that! Thank you for signing.

For the residents in the area immediately around the site this is going to be extremely disruptive. A 24 hour filling station in a residential area creating more traffic, more pollution and more congestion at busy times. It is unnecessary as there are already two other petrol stations within a mile of this site, one of which is already 24 hour. This Filling Station will not generate many jobs as it will be largely unmanned.

The rights and needs of ordinary people must be protected from developers whose primary motive is to develop and make money. There are planning laws in place to,give everyone a voice. This democratic right must be upheld.

With the changes to traffic layout this will cause congestion at other roads possible saftey issues with the local fire service and heavy wagons and buses using an unsuitable narrow rd not to mention changing the high street would be detrimental to passing tourist trade buissness owners will lose trade and the high street will no longer be sustainable

Every Thursday, people have been clapping for our keyworkers, whilst many of those very keyworkers (and so many others) are living in insecure, expensive, overcrowded accommodation and/or commuting unreasonable distances. We don't need any more luxury apartments, over-priced rabbit hutches or safety deposit boxes suitable only for rich investors; many existing properties remain empty and unused. We need homes fit for the community. Homes that are not out of reach to those who need them. Our creaking infrastructure is falling behind; even basic utilities like water and sewage services are already struggling to cope as it is. Barnet needs developments that put the environment and the supporting infrastructure at the heart of planning. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Going forwards, we need these developments to be: • Built in a manner that is worthy of those who need them, worthy of our community and befitting of the collective knowledge that we have in this day and age • Modern, sustainable and environmentally-sound safe, warm, insulated homes • Eco-villages with sufficient outside space. • Accompanied by supporting infrastructure (roads, schools, nurseries, healthcare, sewage etc) • Desirable for downsizers • Accessible for disabled and mobility impaired • Affordable. Really, truly affordable, so that our friends, families, neighbours & keyworkers are no longer displaced to towns along the A1 and beyond, or forced into overcrowded or or temporary accommodation • Communities we want to live in. Our community! The solution to the housing crisis is not to just build more and more “units”, no matter how many times developers & politicians tell us that is the case. We want to see developments which solve problems, not create them. Our local community seem to be constantly firefighting against ill thought out, profit motivated developments. These developments will scar or enhance the community for many, many years going forward. We want to make the right choices. However, the choices we would make as a community are blocked by existing legislation and housing targets; major reform is required. Politicians & developers may say it's impossible or 'unviable'. But as we can see from the emergency legislation passed during the current COVID crisis, anything is possible, so long as the political will is there. We have a vision for the community we live in, a vision that enhances Barnet rather than damaging it. A vision that is worthy & deserving of the people of this community. Our community. It is time to build homes for need, not for greed; and to put people before profit. Thank you. It is important that the Chapel remains in site or re-built near to the new Macmillan Unit as it is used by many people. Please support my objection to the demolition of the Chapel, and the proposed replacement prayer room.
