Change voting system in the UK to Proportional Representation◾Moving to proportional representation (PR) in the UK may offer would give minority parties and independent candidates a better chance of winning seats in Parliament. ◾The current First Past the Post electoral system is considered unrepresentative, as candidates can be elected with a very small share of the votes while all other votes cast in the constituency are wasted. ◾PR ensures that the parties would have to appeal to their core supporters, rather than a small number of so called ‘swing voters’ in marginal seats. ◾It could be argued that PR delivers fairer treatment of minority parties and independent candidates ◾Under PR fewer votes are ‘wasted’ as more people’s preferences are taken into account ◾PR potentially offers greater and more-representative choice for voters. ◾PR may encourage turn-out and reduce apathy. ◾PR rarely produces an absolute majority for one party, however, it could be argued that PR ensures greater continuity of government and requires greater consensus in policy-making.168 of 200 SignaturesCreated by John Mitchell

Delayed peerages for MPs that lose their seats at electionsTo overide the will of the electorate by appointing to the Lords a former MP recently unsucessful in standing for election shames the democratic process and damages the established principle that MPs are ultimatly accountable to the voters.2,264 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Phillip David Jones

We want a re-election-Get the Conservatives out!!The country is supposed to be a democratic country, the results from the election are raising many questions within society. I have seen very few conservative fans so how did they get a majority. If they received their votes and won the election legitimately then they should not objected to a re-election!8,463 of 9,000 SignaturesCreated by Emma Middleton

Change our voting system where 12.6% of the votes get 1 seat in Parliament but 4.7% gets 56 seats! The British deserve a democratic system to elect our leaders. The current system has allowed a party whose stated aim is to separate Scotland from the United Kingdom to get a disproportionate number of seats at the 2015 election.220 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Parkes

Referendum on Proportional RepresentationProportional Representation, whilst it has its issues would seem a fairer system to get fair representation of the population. We now have a government that represents less than 25% of the people yet they will be in power for the next 5 years. What we need is a fairer system reflecting the views of the diverse population.176 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kym Barlow

Save our Human RightsThe act covers everyone living in the UK. The policies have been created for no reason other than to protect us as human beings. Without it any one of us could be wrongly accused of a crime, the government will be allowed to breach our privacy, and anyone could fall victim to careless decisions made by authorities. What happens to innocent until proven guilty and dignity in dying? We will ALL be affected. How can anyone oppose any of the following: Right to life Freedom from torture and inhuman or degrading treatment Right to liberty and security Freedom from slavery and forced labour Right to a fair trial No punishment without law Respect for your private and family life, home and correspondence Freedom of thought, belief and religion Freedom of expression Freedom of assembly and association Right to marry and start a family Protection from discrimination in respect of these rights and freedoms Right to peaceful enjoyment of your property Right to education Right to participate in free elections331,607 of 400,000 SignaturesCreated by Lucy M

Achieve proportional representationThe way people are voting now is being constantly manipulated to favour one party or scare them into voting to keep someone else out. We should have a free choice, to include minority groups into legislation, and not allow large parties all the power they want.103 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rwth Hunt

Stop Access To Work Cuts for the DisabledAccess to Work has provided a lot of disabled people with the independence to work. Without access to work, disabled people will not be able to do their jobs fully or not at all. Since this petition was started the day after the general election we have over 8,000 signatures. This shows how many of you take this petition to heart. I thank you for all your support and we still need more signatures. Once we have reached over 10,000 this petition will be taken to Lindsay Hoyle MP. Many thanks for your support. We also need to educate the public about Access to Work - what is it? The general public are mostly unaware and if we make them aware we will get more support. I will be updating this petition soon with more info on A2W and what it is to help a better understanding for everyone. Please keep circling this petition without your support we would have not got this far. We need more signatures. Share. We also need to hear from you. How has it effected you? If you have not joined the FB group yet. Please do so and share your story. We need to educate people why we need support in our employment. How do we feel without support? Inferior? Remove Craig Whittaker as chair of APPG for looked-after childrenCraig Whittaker MP has shown an appalling lack of judgement and caused great distress to survivors of sexual abuse by sharing a sick joke about Jimmy Savile on Twitter on 5th May 2015. He tweeted: Trust Labour? I'd rather trust Jimmy Savile to babysit! with a link to a Richard Littlejohn piece in the Daily Mail, from which the quote was taken. Many people and organisations have condemned this in the national press and on Twitter, including lawyers representing many of Savile’s victims. He has repeatedly been asked to apologise but to date Whittaker has neither deleted the tweet nor apologised. Whittaker’s role as chair of the all-party group for looked-after children is not tenable – he has shown complete contempt for the many care leavers who have experienced abuse (and bearing in mind that many of Savile’s victims were in care). We call on the two vice-chairs of the APPG to ask Whittaker to step aside or remove him if he refuses to resign.2,695 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Cherry

we want a new electoral vote that is more secure. It is obviously important that the Prime Minister that is voted for gets to no 10. We vote and rely on a electronic counting process that makes it easy to cheat .like everything electronic it can be programmed to give any output you desire. We need all counting stations to have more than one independent person counting each vote all along the whole process we need to go back to the old way of counting to ensure the correct person gets to number 10.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by ian clegg

Green Party: Join Forces with Independents to Get Job-Sharing MPsAs some of you may be aware, the Green Party tried to stand two candidates in Basingstoke (Sarah Cope and Clare Phipps), and the Electoral Commission rejected their application. Four independent people (Rachel Ling, Emma Rome, Zion Zakari, and Adam Lotun) attempted to do the same in two other constituencies. We had been in talks with the GP leadership about working together, but have now received an email from the GP's legal advisor telling us that they have zero interest in cooperating to present the legal case. I don't think that is right. I believe the Green Party should work with independent campaigners to get job-sharing as an option for how candidates should be able to stand. (n.b., I am referring to job-sharing, where two people are both committed to a single job, sometimes also known as flexible working. I am not referring to the second-jobbing that happens among many MPs currently, or the part-time antics of Boris Johnson).8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emma Rome
