• Blue Badges 4 Dementia
Currently in England,Scotland and Northern Ireland to apply for a Blue Badge you have to have a walking difficulty or be registered blind unlike Wales. The lack of such an entitlement in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland is blatantly discriminatory and contravenes Article 20 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities UNCRPD, the right to personal mobility. The current situation exposes people with a cognitive impairment and their carers to real risks, excludes them from many activities, and threatens progress on the Government’s commitment to dementia friendly communities. A carer would have to let a person living with dementia get out of the car while they park and risk them becoming distracted and wandering away before they get out of the car and getting lost, this happened in a local supermarket car park and the person living with dementia was missing for 2 hours and needed a police search to find them

  • Traffic Light Crossing
The community have voiced their concerns for example when you get off the bus to cross the road it takes for ever due to flowing traffic and when people do cross one part of the road it's another task to stand in the middle of the road in a small island with children and the elderly who are fragile. In the next couple weeks that area will be more busy than ever with Ramadan coming in a few weeks. I think this would be a amazing achievement specially just prior to an election which would get the community buzzing. The crossing is between two main bus stops toward Southall and Hayes, Heston, Hounslow also several major shopping stores such as Costco, Toys R Us and Tesco. Is it going to take someone to get injured or even killed?

  • Force Volkswagen/Audi/Seat/Skoda to revert emission software updates
Volkswagen are making out that the software update is minor - but it has been independently shown that the updated software makes a dramatic change to the utilisation of the EGR valve. While this is the cheapest fix for Volkswagen to make, the engine was never designed to handle the increased soot loading, and is being made to fail sometimes within hours of the update being applied. VAG Group dealerships are routinely applying the software updates without even notifying customers of the impact they may have, knowing full well that their customers will encounter reliability problems as a result. The change to the EGR valve curves in the software mean that far more exhaust gas is recirculated in an attempt to low combustion temperatures, and produce less NOx. By doing so, the engine produces far more soot, which then clogs up the EGR valve, and DPF. Injector patterns have also changed, leading to higher duty cycles and again, premature injector failure. When engine's fail due to soot contamination, it can cause sudden loss of power, which during manoeuvres, or motorway driving can be lead to accidents. People are afraid to use their cars. Volkswagen are making their customers in the UK pay for their deceit by pushing an ill-conceived and hurried software patch out and hoping the problem will go away.

  • Lollipop person at Oakwood Academy school in Plymouth
This is about the health and safety of the children of surrounding areas. We need a lollipop person to protect them from being hit by vehicles. A young girl was recently hit just outside the school and more children are at risk of harm unless action is taken to make the crossing safer. • Stratford Road, Wolverton. For the installation of Speed humps or Speeding Cameras
Last year there was a fatal accident on Stratford Road, since then a young lad walking home from school was hit by a car. Does it take another fatality for action to be taken regarding some form of traffic calming? Living on SR, I see cars driving at very high speed everyday, if they clipped the curb they would take out a life. With the up and coming Wolverton Works the road is going to get even busier.

  • Save electric car charging spaces.
If you have made the decision to buy an electric vehicle for the good of all, then the government should do all they can to prevent non/electric vehicles from parking in these very limited spaces. It is akin to akin to an electric vehicle parking and blocking a petrol pump at a garage forecourt.

  • Needham Market Train Station - Accessible To All!
Despite significant ‘improvements’ to Needham Market Railway Station in recent years (costing over £700,000) access to the Ipswich-bound platform remains by steep underground stairway only – a physical challenge for passengers with limited mobility, with buggies, bikes, or heavy suitcases, and an impossibility for wheelchair users. Additionally, the new ramp from the car park to the Cambridge-bound platform is well above the maximum 1 in 12 gradient required to comply with Building Regulations, creating further significant problems for wheel chair users. Needham Market is a growing town with large new estates planned for hundreds of homes over the next few years. Abellio East Anglia Limited (trading as Greater Anglia) claims to be committed to complying with its obligations under the Equality Act 2010, and pledges to make its services accessible to all. Abellio has a ten year contract to run our trains and stations and so has no excuse not to make full access an urgent priority. Please sign our petition and support this local campaign. Thank you!

  • Standish Recreation Ground
We have too many cars coming into Standish already and we have precious little green space left. The last thing we need is to turn part of our historic recreation ground into a car park. It will mean hundreds of more cars passing one of our primary schools each day. This will cause pollution and shorten the lives of our children. It will destroy a quiet area of Standish and ruin the lives of those living nearby.
