  • Remove NHS staff parking charges
Why should essential frontline workers have to pay to attend work . These charges, which apparently are being increased are totally unacceptable for these workers of whom the majority are in the lower income band of annual pay scales

  • Better funding for rural police!
Rural crime is on the increase. Police lack the resources to investigate or prevent these crimes. We need more, better funding to give back rural community safety. Rural areas are becoming easy picking so all criminal factions, both petty and organised. Please help to get back a police force that can help us all.

  • Slavery museum for Bristol
Bristol with its dominant link to slavery should have its own museum. The current debate around Edward Colston about whether the city is trying to hide its history or not highlights the importance for more education regarding Bristol’s past. We mainly hear about the statistics of the slave trade in Bristol and the economic wealth it brought to the city. However, not nearly enough is said or known about the people involved at the time as well as the huge legacy and suffering that is inherited down family lines. There is a prime spot for this museum by the Bascule bridge which would attract both tourists and local people. It is paramount that we learn more so that we can also campaign for the abolition of modern slavery. There are 40.3 million slaves in the world today (Walk Free Foundation global slavery index, estimates vary). The museum should present the evidence in the framework of international human rights universally upheld following the devastation of the Second World War. Every child should be taught about human rights. No one chooses where they are born. Statues on plinths may come and go but it is far more important to address the pain and suffering that massively contributed to the city’s wealth and history. This is a good time to start the project that could have been achieved many years ago.

  • Flying start in caerleon
not one person up here is entitled to flying start as it’s not in the area, I have lived here for many years and there are a lot of family’s who this support would really help including myself, without flying start I would have to wait until my daughter is 3/4 to put her in nursery and she’s able to start flying start playgroup at the age of 2? We have a brand new build primary school around the corner also the only nice part of where we live. Over the years I see that this change would really help a lot of family’s that can’t afford normal nursery they offer in the village as the prices are just ridiculous, we see a lot of other kids starting there flying start playgroup my oldest daughter being one attended a flying start playgroup in alway. She’s now in full time education but I know that the flying start helped introduce her to new situation, faces, people and things. Which it’s sad to see that a lot of children up here are not going to experience that and I personally think that is going to make a big difference when it comes to then having to go to school and not wanting to as it’s all new to them. It should be brought in at a young age, as of now all these kids are used to seeing is family members and neighbours which I just don’t thinks fair. If by 2 they all go to a playgroup, by 3 they are going to do everything we would love them to. Meet new people, new places, new situations so when it’s actually school time for them there’s no problems. It would also be important to me that parents that don’t have any family around or help at hand that they get there break.

  • Prevent testing cosmetics and luxury items (such as makeup) on animals.
This is extremely significant at times like this. The environment is struggling and by removing more species, is decreasing sustainability of biodiversity and interdependence. When removing the animals bodies, less advanced countries do not have the facilities to do so safely which could result in disease and famine.
