Parental unemployment, furloughed wages, Universal Credit delays, interrupted public transport, food bank shortages and missed free school meals mean that children are going hungry unnecessarily. All children have a parent who receives child benefit already; increased payments would require very little administration to implement and would immediately allow families to buy food, pay for fuel for cooking, washing and laundry.

All Universities are closed for physical teaching and although every effort is made to teach online, this is just not possible for many courses who teach practical skills and need rooms and equipment, which are locked away at Universities. Online teaching does not carry the same value and as all Universities have decided to stay close for the remainder of this academic year, I think this needs to be reflected in the fees students are paying. Many postgraduate students (myself included) are being furloughed currently and hence are on 80% of our income, with families to look after and bills to pay. Students up and down the country have taken out loans to pay dear for their studies, yet they are not getting what they have signed up for from the Universities. I would like to urge the government and the Education Minister to make a national decision to reduce the University fees by at least 20% (if not 50%) for the summer term and to help students directly in their struggles with this unprecedented situation. If we can bail out big corporations, then why not help some of the most vunerable and with that - help the future (generation) of this country!

Over 8 million people who care for relatives at home are being ignored. Many of us are shielding vulnerable people, we can’t get delivery slots because we’re not on the most vulnerable list. We don’t want to go out for fear of bringing the virus home. When we can get deliveries they’re more expensive because we’re having to order from specialist, local shops. We are being expected to cope on our own, with extremely limited budgets and no support. We work 24/7 taking the strain off the NHS and social services by caring for our loved ones and we are being IGNORED.

Mr. Boris Johnson was full of praise for the dedication exhibited by NHS Staff who nursed him back to health and probably saved his life. How better to reward them than by taking off them the burden of paying typically £800 per year, to do their essential job, a burden which few others in employment have to suffer. I know of cases where many of them are working up to eleven 12 hour night shifts at a time due to staff shortages and workload. Surely they should not be "pickpocketed" in this atrocious manner. Let's level the playing field and get parity with Scotland and Wales where their caring, sharing Assemblies have introduced free parking for all NHS staff, (and the public) months ago.

It is important because Mike is putting together food parcels for people that can't get out during the Coronavirus outbreak. He is taking meals to local hospitals and other places where they are needed and he is doing all this because he want to help and not because he wants something in return

Giving this unprecedented time, we as students have not been giving much support with regards to our housing as many other types of tenants have been. The only advice we have been given is that despite the majority of us not returning to Swansea for the foreseeable future but only to pick up the small remainder of stuff, we are still expected to pay full rent. Whilst we can accept that we are in a legally binding contract, this Covid-19 pandemic is unusual and unprecedented. And we feel we should be given some leniency towards rent, whilst letting agencies and landlords believe that we get a student loan that covers our rent, for the majority of students that student loan has to be supplemented by other income in order to pay for rent, which in normal circumstances would be totally fair and understandable, but these are not normal times. We as students, have seen across the country landlords and letting agencies offer students who do not move back to their houses, the chance to pay half rent, which we believe is fair. We understand that the landlord’s may have a mortgage to pay and as a result are not expecting for a ‘get out of jail’ card to not pay rent as a whole, but instead we are asking for those who do not intend to return to Swansea given the current global pandemic that affects all of us the ability to pay half rent.

Covid-19 has taken a toll on everyone. From the oldest to youngest and has basically kept everyone on edge. Front-liners such as NHS staff, police and more have sacrificed so much as their family and even off days to ensure that the country is kept running and people are kept safe.It is hard for everyone but i cannot begin to even understand the turmoil this illness has put such workers through. Yes, a handclap will keep them motivated and feel somewhat appreciated but I and many others feel they need to be appreciated exceedingly and beyond now more than ever. Please help this plea get to the very top so as to see a change in the wages of our dear workers . THEY DESERVE IT 🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏿 P.S If you can share this I would be very grateful. 1) Many good Tenants pay rent for years, yet this does not register on their Credit History. 2) Landlords are resistant to taking “Benefit Tenants” as they do not pass a Credit reference. 3) Many people are now claiming Universal Credit which includes a payment of LHA. 4) Some tenants do get into financial trouble and spend their Local Housing Allowance. I am suggesting that the LHA part of their U.C. be paid direct to landlords and that payment be registered with a Credit Reference Agency. Result 1) Good Tenants have a Credit History for their future. 2) Troubled Tenants have an incentive to pay off their debt and 3) Landlords are more inclined to take “Benefit tenants”.

Many NHS staff and care workers have to stay in contact with isolated vulnerable people through WhatsApp and other similar apps which uses up their existing data allowance. They often they have to use the WiFi of hospitals and other medical departments which is puts a strain on the existing I.T resources which are already over capacity because of the current Covid-19 situation. Providing NHS staff and support workers with unlimited data will free up hospital and GP practice WiFi for more critical needs.
