Protect the right of children to playWe agree with Peabody that: “The sound of children playing is not considered anti-social behaviour. All children need to play inside or outside of their home in order to have a healthy upbringing.” We also agree that it is best for all residents that play should be respectful, both in times it occurs, and not to be of excessive volume or disturbance, and clearly self-regulation is the only effective enforcement. The families of the estate already abide to a set of informal guidelines around this - for example the time children may be outside playing - and are in constant communication and monitoring on this matter, a fact those without young families may not be aware of. We want to protect the children's rights as they have no voice themselves. We want to encourage dialogue between residents both for effectiveness and for the good of the community, and for all residents of all ages to enjoy living here 😀6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Painter

Reverse cuts to local bus routes throughout AberdeenshireOur rural communities highly depend upon essential bus services, which are due to be cut in line with Aberdeenshire Council budgets from April 2019. Some local communities in Aberdeenshire, for example Lumsden, have a population of under 300 people and are already rated 1 (the lowest) for Geographic Access to Services on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. This means that Lumsden is among many other rural villages with lack of access to essential services. In fact 44% of Aberdeenshire is ranked within Scotland's most deprived for service access. The bus routes provide vital transport links. As a community, Lumsden, like many other villages in Aberdeenshire, does not have the amenities needed for people to survive independently of local towns. There is no shop, or nursery. No doctors or dentists, limited employment, and as of April 2019, there will be very limited opportunities to access these essential services without owning or having access to a car. Our communities do not believe you can measure the impact of the proposed cuts simply by counting the how many people use the bus and using this as a marker for cutting our lifelines. Although numbers are small, they are used regularly and out of necessity. These cuts will hit the most vulnerable people in our community; the young, the elderly and those who are low or unwaged. We believe this will contribute to wider social and economic inequality, causing increased isolation and the negative impacts associated with this. Aberdeenshire Council announced these cuts without prior consultation and although we understand the budgets are tight, we believe that the social, environmental and economic impacts of these cuts will far outweigh any saving that might be made in the short-term. Finally, these short-sighted cuts to bus routes are at odds with priorities outlined within the Aberdeenshire Council Plan. Our communities were consulted to inform these priorities and the council will fail in the outlined aims to: "Have the best possible transport across communities; reducing poverty and inequalities and their pledge to tackle climate change" As such they need to be held accountable for their short-sighted and unbelievably damaging actions. We will not stand for the ruthless tearing down of our public services that disproportionately affect rural communities in Aberdeenshire. We disavow the council's actions in this area and will not tolerate cuts that will leave us even more isolated and disconnected than we already are. We demand these decisions be reversed with immediate effect.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sam Trotman

Keep the Post Office Open In Middleton, ManchesterThe Town badly needs the post office for business needs and to serve the local people especially the elderly. the proposed alternative would not meet demand and we believe is only a stepping stone to closing once the majority of business and the public find alternatives-it is the centre of town and is always busy6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sean Moscovita

Support and Protect Asylum Seekers AdequatelyThose of us that are UK citizens are very lucky in that we don't have to leave our homes, countries, friends and neighbours just to be able to live in safety. Some people need to leave their homes. Instead of always supporting these people, the Home Office can detain them, despite no criminal offence being committed. Asylum seekers also only get very small payments from the government, and as they are often not allowed to work, it can be very hard to live off these payments. Also, LGBTQ+ people should not have to 'prove' that their sexual orientation to be granted asylum as this cannot really be done, and people may very well have hid their sexual orientation to keep themselves safe in their home countries due to fears of discrimination, violence or death from either their governments or wider society. Asylum seekers are some of the most vulnerable people in the UK. They should be offered protected which the Home Office currently appears to be failing to provide in many cases.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jo Capp

Stop shooting birds for sportSo many birds are left injured and cruelly die a slow death, our wildlife should be left in peace, not just for the few who want to persecute them in the name of sport.92 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Theresa Lawrence

Stop MacDonald's Happy Meal BalloonsI'm campaigning for Mcdonalds to stop the unnecessary handout of Happy Meal Balloons in their restaurants. Balloons never break down completely, even the so-called “biodegradable” ones can take in excess of 6 months to start decomposing. The balloons can easily cause problems before this time, either on land or in the ocean. Multiple species are threatened as they can become entangled in them or swallow them if they are mistaken for food. Although some restaurants have swapped to biodegradable balloons, even these are still given out on plastic sticks which will inevitably break down into microplastics, posing further threats to marine species. With UK balloons having been found as far as Holland and the Orkneys, I think it's time for Macdonalds to make a greater change. Macdonalds, Is it worth the damage and the deaths for something nobody really needs?45 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maya Buckley

Make Music Tuition Free in HampshireMusic is what separates us from savages, and everyone should have the right to learn an instrument- regardless of how wealthy they are. Furthermore, every hour, creative industries contribute nearly 11 Million Pounds to the UK economy. Making music tuition in schools free-of-charge would mean that more people could have the opportunity to go into a multi-million pound industry, as well as gain a sense of belonging and have the opportunity to express themselves, which they might not have got before.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by George Lincoln

Save Our College DV8 from Closing! We are a group of students who currently study at Dv8 Sussex, following our recent Ofsted grading we now run the risk of closure due to the Education and Skills funding agency placing the college under review and potentially cutting our funding. If this happens the college will close and we won't have anywhere to study from September. DV8 is not your typical college. It doesn't go along with the "by the book" approach of heads down with textbooks. With small class sizes and unique courses it allows those to get one on one help during class and afterwards. They have set days and guaranteed times which allows students to plan around this, have time for work and a social life, as opposed to scattered time slots for a day with one off lessons like some colleges do. This is important as it is truly unique with the courses they have, for example, having one of the few true games development courses which genuinely has the class make a fully fleshed out video game! If DV8 closes then current students cannot continue their course for another year for a better qualification. Students looking to transfer to a college which best suits them will be stuck and struggling by staying where they are now with no other option. New students for the next academic year will be forced to go towards other colleges which they do not like nor want to attend courses which won't help them in their future. Please share this around with friends, family and whoever else you can get this to! Ban opaquely funded 'Think Tanks' from the BBCIf Brexit has shown one thing, it is that we need truth and honesty in British political life and national media reporting. Allowing opaquely funded 'Think Tanks' similar time on air,and equivalence,to well respected politically independent analysts,is a travesty of honest public service broadcasting. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jul/30/labour-calls-for-inquiry-into-iea-thinktank-over-cash-for-access-claims The IEA is an opaquely funded free-market lobbyist organisation with a title that suggests otherwise. It sounds like an open and honest organisation, like the well respected and politically independent Institute for Fiscal Studies; but the IEA is one of the most opaquely funded organisations in Europe, and essentially campaigns for extreme forms of laissez faire economics with complete opposition to state intervention. The IEA has been caught taking US cash for access to British government ministers https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-45006969/iea-think-tank-responds-to-cash-for-access-claim The IEA also has links to climate change denial organisations : https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/sep/02/nigel-lawson-climate-sceptic-organisation-funders This excellent article from July 2018 by George Monbiot really does summarise why this petition is necessary in the fight for truth and honesty in both politics and the media: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jul/18/dark-money-democracy-political-crisis-institute-economic-affairs96 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Parkinson
